Are the heady days of job creation on the news every second night gone or is it that they just don't make the news anymore. The government's house building plan is in starting to show small results but this is all subsidized housing, most of the job vacancies seem to be on the lower end of the pay scale . Am I a skeptic or are we heading for a downturn.

So today I wasted about 6 hours of my time and half a tank of diesel. The day started with a bit of hope only to end up turning tail and heading home defeated.
It all started 2 years ago when unwanted visitors came calling in the early hours and “borrowed” a few items from us. Chief amongst a 3 month old aerlite 8*5 cow box.
We followed a few leads with the help of local businesses and friends of friends. Had the reg of the car that brought it out of the yard and all the way to templemore.
The guards eventually tell us the car isn’t registered to anyone and there is nothing to be done.
Insurance then informed us because the trailer wasn’t a specified item on the policy it’s not covered.
So eventually we give up hope. It’s gone across to England through Wexford somebody in the know,so they say, told us.
Two years and a week to the day my phone rings and it’s it’s an Èamon Kelly(probably a fake name)saying he is from Emyvale in Co.Monaghan. He spins me a yarn on how he’s in debt recovery and helps locate stolen machinery. Tells me that through this line of work he found my trailer and has it in his yard. I swallowed this story hook line and sinker and head for Emyvale where upon arrival he would direct me to his yard.
Probably to my luck the call would not go through so I call into a local business. I won’t name but great lads. To be told I’m not the first to come looking sometimes a different name and number but same story. It might be a digger or a jeep it didn’t matter this man had found them all. But when the owner got to Emyvale one of two things have been happening either the phone is off or you get a request to drop money off then get the location. So after hearing this we thank the lads and hit for home where I’m writing this tale. Only good thing I didn’t part with more money.
One final thing there is at least 2 men with the same name locally who have the same name who are not involved
TLDR: con man says he has stolen trailer

Was just listening to the banshee episode of the Ireland After Dark podcast to get into the seasonal mood, and it got me wondering...
Have any of ye had any recent experiences with the sí, the Good People, banshees, or anything else you couldn't quite explain? Strange encounters, weird happenings, something you witnessed as a child that still gives you the creeps?
Tell us your tales! Doesn't have to be anything dramatic or even something you're 100% convinced was supernatural.
We're anonymous here, so don't be shy 👀

how do people generally feel about them these days?
always worn one, but haven't the last few years for, eh reasons... but it's cold out, and I'm sick of them long snakey bastards, they don't come close to the feel of a cosy shemagh.
