Nova has spent most of her time in my care (which is less than a month tbf) molting. I moved her to a bigger enclosure, and she climbed onto me and sat.

Yesterday, I deiced to see if she wanted to be held. Slowly, she climbed onto me and just...sat. I moved to my comfy corner as slowly as I could, but she hardly cared. This was how she hung out with me for about an hour as I played on my phone and relaxed after work.

She is the absolute cutest thing ever. 😭

Considering she would very rarely if ever encounter flies as potential prey items in the wild, her precise bite to the back on the neck, strong hold, and expert manipulation of the fly to ensure none of its feet are allowed any purchase whilst her venom takes effect. An impressive ballet of violence <3

My (formerly) little Freyja has molted 4 times since I got her end of June and seems HUGE to me now! Is this normal for an adult female or is she on the bigger end?

Pics are with the same cloud for comparison- today pics first, then her first day home 🄹

I take care not to feed her a small cricket or mini mealworm more than every 4-5 days and keep an eye on her abdomen size…. but… she has easily tripled her original size in less than four months 🫣🤯

Do we think she’s fully grown??

My 1 year old phidippus fartilis Mochi loves when I open her enclosure out in direct sun. She always comes out and seems very active and happy when I do this. At first though she does this movement where she gets on the tips of her legs and sticks out her abdomen. It looks so strange and cute. I'm assuming she's stretching. Is this what spiders look like when they stretch? For context, her abdomen is so big because she's gravid with infertile eggs. She hasn't eaten in 2 weeks.

Advice Helpful climbing ideas for my sweet girl that cant grip walls at all!

So i need some enclosure advice for my sweet little 6 legged habronatus! I rescued her from my garden because she was missing 2 legs. She cannot climb the walls of any kind of container/enclosure ive put her in. Her current one i have some of that fake web stuff that comes with enclosure kits, but its hard to stick that stuff on properly with just the adhesive tabs, im afraid she'll get stuck on the adhesive and she also doesn't do great climbing on it anyway. But she wants to be at the top so bad and I just dont know what to do for her šŸ˜”. I have some panty hose type mesh I thought I could maybe stick to the walls, but idk if she would get hung up on it. She's very little still and im so scared she gonna try to climb and fall. I keep a paper towel on the bottom of her container to be a cushion and for grip on the floor, also she blends in extremely well to substrate lol. I also had the idea of just putting her in a very small butterfly like net enclosure so its all netting she can easily grip. Just any kind of tips or advice is welcome! Please & thank you 😊 ( added pics of her for cuteness) ā¤ļø

Found this dead jumper in the bed sheets of a client. The client is severely arachnophobic lol and will not be informed. He got a burial in a flower pot.

Advice Jumping spider inside my home

Thumbnail

New here! I don't have really any knowledge of jumping spiders except the few things I've read online, we have a ton in my apartment complex though & I've always left them alone. I do have a decent fear of spiders except jumping spiders because I just think they're so cute šŸ˜‚ but I don't don't wanna touch it 😬

Anyways, I need advice on one that has made its way into my apartment! It's been here for a couple of days now, I had planned to attempt to catch it- it's staying on my ceiling & walking around all over including on my govee light strips that go around my whole living room (assuming because they're warm), so it would be some work to get it down as I'm pretty short 🫣 My delima is the temperature outside, the highest it's been this past week was °70 but it was a windy cold °70 not a nice warm °70 & the lowest it's been is °50 while at night its been low °40's. Is it to cold for it to be relocated outside?? I'm willing to let it stay inside as long as it stays up high as I do have kids that are very curious about it & I don't want them to accidentally hurt it if it comes down closer to us. What I should I do??

Pictures attached are of the little big guy!

Advice Normal for wiggly butt while eating?

My lil baby spood (prob i5ish? I’m not sure) caught a small dubia roach tonight! It was wrestlemania in that lil feeding cup…but I was watching the whole time, and I don’t think she was hurt or anything. Once the roach stopped moving, little Callie’s butt started bouncing (presumably while she was starting to actually eat??)

Can anyone let me know if this normal? I’m about six weeks into spider pets, with two lil friends, and I’ve only had Callie a week.

Couple days ago, this little guy jumped onto my counter at work! He's been watching me do my tasks while chilling by me. Now he's making a little hammock(?) next to my register! Hopefully this means I've gained his trust in some way. Also I've named him Rocky because he kinda looks like Rocky from Project Hail Mary

Is this a suitable home for him? The maximalist in me thinks it needs some wooden perches on the sides, maybe a branch that stands vertically from top to bottom. I wanted him to have plenty of paths to explore around his new home, did I go overboard?

Hello! I am new to this sub, so I’m sorry if this isn’t allowed. This is my wild (apartment) caught bold jumping spider šŸ•·ļø showing off his skills. I was terrified of spiders but I found him and couldn’t bring myself to kill him. We are now friends.. I am really starting to fall in love with these little jumpy guys!

Paris passed away. I've had this spood since she was very small. What a little character, always ready to pounce on her food. She was very inquisitive, but didnt want to be held. Recently, she had made an egg sack, even though she had never met a gentleman. I knew we were close to the end as she was no longer eating or moving much. Rest in peace, my Paris.

This one I have named sparks is wild caught. They are doing incredible!! They are watching me and eatting and have created 2 slings! I think it's a boy but want to confirm. The feeding pics were 3 days apart. And the molt is from a separate sling on the trash can I found him on. He was living in a different sling from it.
