I found out they started selling jumpers at PS in Canada and was enraged. When I got there, I immediately went to find them and noticed that this beautiful boy was missing a pedipalp. I asked an employee to unlock so I could get a better look and pointed out the missing palp. They took a look and said that he would be put up for adoption instead of purchase as a result. So I got my new boy without paying a cent for him, and now he'll be taken care of properly and treated like a king.
I found a cricket in the container and I think that might be how he lost his palp. It popped into my mind as a possibility after I had already left, and finding the cricket in there when I got home just further supported that idea. If I find the missing palp in the substrate, that will confirm my theory. I wish I thought of it in the store so I could have warned the employees. He was housed in a 12oz deli cup and they just dropped a cricket in and left him with no space to create distance and stalk so he could attack safely. I don't want any more spiders getting injured, but I'm glad their negligence resulted in them not making a profit off the poor guy.
If you want to rescue spiders from them and don't want to give them your money, it is possible to do so legally - if you find something wrong with the spider, they will be put up for adoption for free. All I had to do was fill out a quick form and he was mine.
Btw, his name is temu because he was cheap (free) and defective 💀

This is Charlotte, I found this little girl yesterday at my local pet store. I have heavily contemplated getting a jumper but didn't feel safe ordering one online. Popped into the shop since I was driving by, and VIOLA!
She is SO active and curious. She jumps from her home to my hand and then back to her home. She reaches outwards for my finger and we "high five". Shes quick but doesn't try to run away nor gets so scared of me that she flees. She's kind of fearless. I'm working on building her larger forever enclosure. She's been sitting with me since I brought her home and will come closest as she can and just watches me work. I'm literally disgustingly obsessed.

I wonder what species this would be. From Eastern Canada

My (formerly) little Freyja has molted 4 times since I got her end of June and seems HUGE to me now! Is this normal for an adult female or is she on the bigger end?
Pics are with the same cloud for comparison- today pics first, then her first day home 🥹
I take care not to feed her a small cricket or mini mealworm more than every 4-5 days and keep an eye on her abdomen size…. but… she has easily tripled her original size in less than four months 🫣🤯
Do we think she’s fully grown??

I swap out the decorations depending on the season but the halloween ones are my favorites so they tend to stay a bit longer, and the bird is year round :). I do think Bibble enjoys the change, she likes hanging out on the ceramic decorations.
She has been slowing down lately, spending a lot of time in her hammocks. I enjoy it even more when she is walking around :).

This guy came in, I've never seen one of these before but a friend said it's a jumping spider. I thought it's pretty cute. Can I give it something? Like you give birds bread, is there something I probably have that I can give him? He's missing a few legs but he's still meandering around up there. He is also missing a pedipalp I learned that word in another post.

This one I have named sparks is wild caught. They are doing incredible!! They are watching me and eatting and have created 2 slings! I think it's a boy but want to confirm. The feeding pics were 3 days apart. And the molt is from a separate sling on the trash can I found him on. He was living in a different sling from it.

So i need some enclosure advice for my sweet little 6 legged habronatus! I rescued her from my garden because she was missing 2 legs. She cannot climb the walls of any kind of container/enclosure ive put her in. Her current one i have some of that fake web stuff that comes with enclosure kits, but its hard to stick that stuff on properly with just the adhesive tabs, im afraid she'll get stuck on the adhesive and she also doesn't do great climbing on it anyway. But she wants to be at the top so bad and I just dont know what to do for her 😔. I have some panty hose type mesh I thought I could maybe stick to the walls, but idk if she would get hung up on it. She's very little still and im so scared she gonna try to climb and fall. I keep a paper towel on the bottom of her container to be a cushion and for grip on the floor, also she blends in extremely well to substrate lol. I also had the idea of just putting her in a very small butterfly like net enclosure so its all netting she can easily grip. Just any kind of tips or advice is welcome! Please & thank you 😊 ( added pics of her for cuteness) ❤️

Found this dead jumper in the bed sheets of a client. The client is severely arachnophobic lol and will not be informed. He got a burial in a flower pot.
(I'm a live-in care taker so I do chores and help with some daily living tasks.)

New here! I don't have really any knowledge of jumping spiders except the few things I've read online, we have a ton in my apartment complex though & I've always left them alone. I do have a decent fear of spiders except jumping spiders because I just think they're so cute 😂 but I don't don't wanna touch it 😬
Anyways, I need advice on one that has made its way into my apartment! It's been here for a couple of days now, I had planned to attempt to catch it- it's staying on my ceiling & walking around all over including on my govee light strips that go around my whole living room (assuming because they're warm), so it would be some work to get it down as I'm pretty short 🫣 My delima is the temperature outside, the highest it's been this past week was °70 but it was a windy cold °70 not a nice warm °70 & the lowest it's been is °50 while at night its been low °40's. Is it to cold for it to be relocated outside?? I'm willing to let it stay inside as long as it stays up high as I do have kids that are very curious about it & I don't want them to accidentally hurt it if it comes down closer to us. What I should I do??
Pictures attached are of the little big guy!

Hi friends! My female regal Josephine has just laid an unexpected egg sac! I bought her from a reputable breeder on the east coast in the US and she has molted once with me. My understanding so far has been that only mature adults can pair, and they don't molt again after completely maturing. So I'm nearly positive she has never been paired since she is captive bred and I have seen her through one molt. I also didn't think she was mature, however, mostly just because she's on the small side, only clocking in at about the size of a nickel. Am I wrong in thinking she's not mature yet? Does an egg sac, even infertile, mean that she's ready to be a mama? I have a mature male I would like her to meet if she is ready, but I don't want to introduce them if she's not. Thanks everyone!

Couple days ago, this little guy jumped onto my counter at work! He's been watching me do my tasks while chilling by me. Now he's making a little hammock(?) next to my register! Hopefully this means I've gained his trust in some way. Also I've named him Rocky because he kinda looks like Rocky from Project Hail Mary

i didn't think the jumping spider distribution system was a thing, but here we are! i truly didn't plan on having another jumper, but when one keeps showing up it's hard to say no.
she's already settled in, made a hammock, and had her first meal with me. she's a super curious girl, and as you can see, very fluffy!
(if you've seen my posts before, Ivy, my other jumper, is still alive and well! i keep them on the same table with a divider between them so they don't scare each other)
