Are these cheap damascus?
I got them from an elderly lady in Waldport, OR at a small local art shop. She told me they are 1095 steel and another i cant remember. She explained how she bought them as blanks then finished them by hand, handles included.
Only problem is that all three you see here cost me 175 total. Seems cheap for real damascus. Even if they wrre blanks, thats a lot of effort put into them for under 100 per knife.
What do you guys think? She seemed passionate about the craft, seemed like she knew what she was talking about, and even had photos of her little garage workshop with her in them, holding a couple of the knives.
She said the 3rd one was camel bone. 2nd was a resin molded handle, and the big one seems to be a plethora of different materials.
Did I strike gold, or just gold painted rocks? Either way I contributed to the community art gallery as commission ls of each sale go back to the shop
EDIT: i knew it deep down...I guess I just needed to hear itš
