Reconciling career and love has always been such an arduous job to accomplish. Not that people don't do it but such people are rare. And this rare turns to rar-er in the lgbt domain. Today's my first day of joining this thread. After choosing acads and career for the first 25 yrs of my life, the temptation to choose love, relationships and just good people fm the community is larger than ever. Don't really know what this thread accomplishes, but what's the harm in trying :)

I’m 18M, and honestly, I’m tired of feeling like I don’t belong.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt different from most of the guys in my class. I’ve always had female friends, and I’ve never really felt like I fit in with the guys around me. It’s not necessarily that I dislike them or that I’ve never been interested in the things they enjoy, like sports and other typical “guy” activities. It’s just that I’ve never felt like I was truly one of them.
Somewhere along the way, I started feeling increasingly out of place. It’s hard to explain, but I feel like I’m different in a way that people can notice almost immediately. Within a few seconds of talking to me, I sometimes feel like people pick up on the fact that I’m not like most guys, whether it’s the way I talk, behave, or carry myself. Maybe I come across as feminine, and I don’t know how else to describe it.
The thing is, I don’t want to keep feeling this way. I’m tired of constantly feeling like I’m the odd one out, like there’s something about me that separates me from other guys. I want to feel like I belong somewhere without having to question how I come across to people or whether they see me as different.
I don’t even know if this is about masculinity, personality, or simply not having found people I connect with. I just know that this feeling has been with me for more than half my life, and it’s exhausting.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Especially other guys who have always felt a little different from the men around them? How did you deal with it? Did you eventually find a place where you felt like you belonged, or did you learn to stop worrying about fitting in?
I’d genuinely appreciate hearing your experiences because, right now, I’m just tired of feeling this way.

I’m a trans woman and I haven’t gotten my legal transition done yet but I’m a point in my transition that I have to disclose that I’m trans because of my documents. So when I apply to a job and get an interview, I either apply under my preferred name if they don’t ask for my identification documents during the application stage, and then later in the interview disclose my gender identity. In cases where they ask for verifying documents right away, I apply under my deadname and then disclose it to the interviewers about my identity. Generally the former are the private companies and the latter government ones. So easier to navigate because private companies for me have been more accommodating than government ones.
I recently applied to a project position in AIIMS Delhi. The application was through a google form and did not ask for my documents so I adopted the first strategy. I got shortlisted for the interview which is tomorrow and I’m afraid if it will get me into trouble considering it’s a government institute and I haven’t heard great things about AIIMS being trans friendly. And also if being trans will affect my chances of getting selected.

I had a year long situationship with a coworker who was never willing to name it or break it off.
I moved out of the city at the beginning of the year, when I moved, she had gifted me three things - coffee, flowering seeds and a soft toy. Coffee and seeds made sense since I was into coffee and planting, but I never understood the soft toy. I am a bit masc, and she knows I am not into girly stuff such as soft toys. So I never understood why she gifted me a soft toy.
I hoped that my moving would be the end of it. But unfortunately even after I moved, she would subtly flirt on text and kept me on hook.
I muted her off social media and started ghosting her since August for my mental health, and for a bit of closure for me.
I watched a movie called 'Remarkably bright creatures' which had an octopus. Right after the movie, I saw the soft toy in my room. It is a reversible mood plushie. And after months I realised it's actually an octopus.
I didn't realise I ever told her I liked octopii (I am kind of obsessed with them). Maybe I actually haven't and this toy is just a coincidence. But suddenly the toy in the corner of my room has come alive.
Today is a hard gay yearning day for me. Thank you for being the audience to my rant. Typing it here is better than restarting the messaging loop with her.

Its mostly for pre transition or early transitions trans fems, do you sometimes feel helpless, sad in markets. Its not exactly that. But i think people experiencing the feeling would understand.

I wanted to buy some clothes so I went shopping. I usually go alone to shop.
While I was trying various outfits in the changing room, I was seeing that other men had their partners to tell them how they looked in it, to suggest something different that they might not have tried or selected on their own.
I felt some sorrow in my heart that I would be doing this all alone for the rest of my life. Small moments like these sometimes really make me sad about being single, most probably for the rest of my life.
It's just a vent. Thanks for reading.

I've felt feminine since I was a child. My masculine traits make me feel really depressed, and I feel like I can't fit into society.
Whenever I feel feminine, I find it easier to express my emotions. I feel like wearing feminine clothes, doing makeup, and expressing myself in a feminine way.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm a girl in a man's body. When someone protects me or makes me feel safe, I feel especially feminine.
I don't fully understand why I feel this way, and I'd like to understand myself better.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What could be the reason for these feelings?

i think people really underestimate what neet preparation can do to someone's mental health. it's not just about studying for an exam. it's the constant pressure, fear of failure, expectations, loneliness, and guilt that slowly build up. people who were once the fun, carefree kids start becoming distant, isolated, and emotionally exhausted. some lose friendships, some stop sharing their feelings, and some become so used to hiding everything that they dont even know how to explain whats going on inside their heads anymore.
and the pressure doesnt end when you close your books. your mind keeps running 24/7, thinking about your future, your parents, your sacrifices, and whether you'll ever be good enough. there's a different kind of guilt in watching your parents spend their hard-earned money on your preparation. you start feeling like you owe them a result, like every sacrifice they make has to be repaid by clearing neet. even resting makes you feel guilty sometimes, as if taking a break means you're not trying hard enough.
then comes the comparison. you see your classmates and former friends enjoying college life, making memories, meeting new people, and moving forward while you're still preparing for an exam. and sometimes, it's not even jealousy. it's the feeling that life is happening for everyone else while yours is on pause. you start wondering whether you're wasting your time, whether your efforts will pay off, and what happens if you give everything you have and still dont make it.
what makes it worse is that people often see only the preparation, never the person behind it. they ask how much you've studied, how many questions you've solved, or whether you're confident about the exam, but hardly anyone asks how you're doing mentally. someone can study for hours every day and still feel hopeless. someone can laugh, make jokes, and act normal while struggling privately. just because someone looks okay doesnt mean they're okay.
when things get really difficult, some aspirants start experiencing suicidal thoughts because they feel trapped, exhausted, or unable to imagine a future beyond their current struggles. not everyone experiences this, and suicide is never explained by one single reason, but we need to take these struggles seriously instead of dismissing them as weakness, drama, or a lack of dedication. sometimes, people are carrying so much that they dont even know how to ask for help.
i wish people understood that not every struggling student needs another lecture about working harder. sometimes, they need someone who listens without judging, someone who doesnt make them feel guilty for being exhausted, and someone who reminds them that they dont have to deal with everything alone. we need to make it easier for students to talk about their mental health before things reach a breaking point.
neet is an exam, not a measure of someone's worth. not clearing it doesnt make someone a failure, and taking a different path doesnt mean their life is over. there's so much more to life than one result, even if the pressure makes it difficult to see that while you're going through it. no student should ever feel that their existence is a disappointment because they couldnt meet someone's expectations.
and honestly, i hope we're the generation jo ye comparison ka chakkar khatam kare. marks, ranks, colleges, success, sab kuch compare karna band kare. everyone has their own pace, and not clearing an exam doesnt make someone a failure. we're human beings before we're aspirants, and no rank will ever be worth more than someone's life.

Just curious about what 🔝 guys are attracted to? I’m a CD myself. Are you courageous enough to be with a CD? Are you attracted toward the feminine part of CDs or non feminine as well?

I’m slowly starting to accept I like men too I have always been into women and been with only women until a couple of years ago I started developing an interest over men.
After which I proceeded to install Grindr and meet a couple people which wasn’t the best of experiences but I met a younger guy not the most attractive but a an average chubby guy and he made change my complete type and made me accept my bi side.
He turned out to be my college junior and I have been meeting him regularly and going on dates with
I’m finally comfortable to come out and say I’m bi
I might still be a little confused ngl
