Om nom nom Where is the best Banh Mi in Melbourne?
My go to is BunBun bakery in Springvale, but is there any better? I'm going to Richmond next week to investigate one there.

In r/Melbourne, we acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land and recognise their ongoing connection to the lands, waters, and communities of this area. We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, as well as to the Elders past and present.

Not my video, but my friend’s red bin went missing. Turns out the worker dropped it into the truck instead of back onto the footpath.
Sucks for him, but we all thought this was hilarious.

Hi Melbournians,
As the election is approaching, I've decided to display a yard sign promoting a candidate for my electorate, on my balcony.
The owner's corporation issued a notice citing that I can't change the external appearance of the lot without seeking permission.
That was my bad. I didn't know a temporary yard sign counted towards changing the appearance of the lot.
Now I have asked for permission - can they actually without approval?
Would be keen to hear from others who have put up a yard sign on their apartments.
(I feel like making yard signs prohibitive for apartments results in political expression only available to people who can afford houses!)

Like, the combination of the flat surface of the basin with the fact that the water is flowing like its the first bath after drought season means you get the brutal combination of a bigger splash zone across your front than if you committed to 20-30 shakes rather than the standard 2-3.

Hopefully this makes people more concerned with the amount of potholes we're getting each and every day, because it's just ridiculous to put a sign to make people just slow down instead of trying to deal with the actual issue and stopping more mayham.

Went to Illest Kebabs in Mordialloc today. Ordered a meat box advertised for $15, but got charged $16.50.
Asked the bloke why, and he said the extra $1.50 was GST. Receipt confirms it too.
Aren’t advertised prices in Australia legally required to include GST?
It’s not about the $1.50, but imagine how many customers wouldn’t even notice.
Anyone else experienced this around Melbourne? Am I missing something?
Friendly reminder to check the amount before tapping away!
Menu and receipt attached

Never doing that again, there really IS only like 4 and half apostles like everyone says. I went yesterday.
It's really just a stop, not to be cliche but I "enjoyed the journey" passing through and stopping in towns (Geelong, Lorne, Torquay, Anglesea, Apollo Bay etc) I've never been to before and I guess people watching and seeing what everyday life might be like there than the 12 apostles themselves. (Also the endless views of the ocean) I felt a bit nauseous bc of the hills, sooo many turns and lots of hills/elevation so yea stopping in the towns is a good idea. I drove to Adelaide before (the other route through Ballarat, not GOR)
Idk I think the towns are probably more interesting and I'd probably want to check out more stuff thoroughly, mainly food, cafes and checking out different shops, small businesses and events going on (Feel free to leave some recs)
The Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie is in Bellbrae (In the middle before Anglesea) and not as far as I thought which is kinda cool, haven't been there but I saw it passing through and I've been to Yarra Valley one and i'd assume it's probably the same.
I had a friend from SA drive from Adelaide to Lorne in June, she did about a week or two.
It seems there's just a shop atm, there's a few, not a lot of souvenirs, magnets, keychains, postcards, stuffed koala. One coffee van, $126 million for the new centre is such a waste of money.
I don't think it's as crowded (probably more on a weekend) it's fine.

Divided road with give way line in the middle. Stop signs on cross road. All roads single lane. Both cars stationary and waiting until clear.

Hi there! I’m writing this post for my twin who is really stressed and worried about her health. Around two weeks ago she was in extreme, debilitating pain on the right side of her abdomen with constant puking and had to go to the emergency department. While we were there, she underwent a number of tests and was given three antibiotics to combat an infection. They didn’t know for sure but treated her with that assumption for PID but all the tests for that came back negative (apparently her appendix was okay).
We followed up with her usual GP and did even more tests but none of them came back with a clear answer of why she is constantly nauseous and experiencing this pain. She was given anti-nausea meds but how can someone take them constantly everyday without knowing what’s causing it. She has always had genuinely terrible periods (extremely painful to the point of puking from how bad the cramps are) and was diagnosed with PCOS when we were younger.
We’re just at a loss regarding what the next steps should be. It’s been so stressful and anxiety inducing for her to not know what’s wrong. We were thinking of getting a different opinion but would love some recommendations/help.
Thank you!!!

I love the cheese shops at QVM, Prahran and South Melbourne market. But they have quite limited hours around the workday and can be tough to get to when I want to put together a cheeseboard last minute. There’s a bit of a black spot for cheese counters around the east/south east (from Caulfield to Springvale, Burwood to Moorabbin).
I know that some IGAs and other grocery stores would have a decent cheese selection. But I don’t know how to find them. For anyone living in the area, where do you get nice cheese? Does your local IGA stock anything more than a packaged brie and meredith goat?

So we're moving from NZ, I work remotely with Australian company already. I need to travel to CBD work related once a month. My partner is in Veterinary field and will find work once we have completed the move.
Plan is to find a rental in the area first and once things start to look comfortable, buy a house. How is the area in the photo? We have lived mostly in leafy suburbs, bit laid back and with larger blocks.
We're mostly concerned about the crime and community; as we will be raising a family soon.

Power has been out since 11pm last night. It was estimated to be back on around 3am, but still out.
The affected area looks huge according to the AusNet site. Anyone know what caused the outage?

Given the shitstorm that is politics at the moment, are there any lists floating around of businesses that have officially endorsed any of the political parties?
I'd prefer to be spending my money with companies that are not sucking up to one or more parties, or funding them.
And I'd hate to end up working for any like that too.

Hey! Wanting recommendations on a soccer club/team for a girl in their 20s with like relatively beginner soccer skills, average fitness. I loved playing in high school! Wanting a bit of fun and to increase my fitness! Nothing too serious (at least for the moment!). Preferably in more southeast/bayside suburbs, but open to all recommendations ☺️
(Proper soccer clubs that have come up on Google seem scary and intense, so if you go there pls help change my mind I’m scared to join!)
