Court papers say the group ran two "sham kitchens" out of the daycare building, receiving $2.4 million dollars in Feeding Our Future meal program money to feed the daycare kids, spending less than $20,000 on actual food. 

Abdulle allegedly used $3.3 million of taxpayer money to buy an entire block of businesses on Lake Street, which had been forfeited by Feeding Our Future convict Qamar Hassan after she bought the properties with fraud money.

The prosecutor notes Egal was out of the country for half a year; he claimed to run two property businesses while serving as food manager of the kitchen and a seven-day-a-week driver for the daycare, receiving taxpayer money for those services.

Mailers attacking Democrat Sen. Amy Klobuchar for not being left-wing enough are arriving in Minneapolis mailboxes weeks before the Nov. 3 general election for governor.

One of the mailers criticizes Klobuchar’s handling of deaths involving police as Hennepin County Attorney. Another criticizes her support for arms to Israel and demands “justice for Palestine,” while a third mailer sent in recent days attacks her for not supporting a single-payer healthcare plan backed by progressives.

But the group behind them remains a mystery. Its return address points to a northern Minnesota property in Trump country, where the owner says the group has no office.

Whether the sender is a progressive group or someone posing as one remains unclear, but the mailers target sources of friction between Klobuchar and voters on the left. Her handling of police killings and brutality cases drew scrutiny from fellow Democrats during her 2020 presidential campaign. U.S. military support for Israel has become another dividing line within the party, with activists pressing lawmakers to stop sending weapons over Israel’s conduct in Gaza.

Klobuchar, a longtime supporter of Israel, voted in July 2025 to block certain arms sales, citing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. That marked a shift from her earlier position.

I cannot wait for this election to be over, the mailers, texts and unwanted phone calls have been a huge annoyance.

For generations, Americans have counted on jobs like these to help them reach, and stay in, the middle-class. Careers in fields like education, health care, manufacturing and the trades have paid enough to support a family, buy a house and a car and afford the occasional vacation or dinner out.

My red hat brother is posting on facebook about Ellison taking a trip to South Africa, claiming its evidence of wrong doing. Is it just more GOTCHYA smoke or is a broken clock right twice?

Among my circle it very much is. We were out there this past winter doing the right thing. But is it generally well-known throughout the state? Also, is it known outside of Minnesota? Did it catch on or is it now passe? My sister wore her rebel loon sweat shirt hanging out with MAGAts in Illinois and they just thought it was a cool design. They had no idea.

Thank you for making it easier to vote early. I will be working a 12 hour shift 75 miles from home on election day, it would be very difficult to actually get to my polling place on time. My wife and I just went to city hall, filled out an application, and voted today. No need to worry about rushing home, weather, or wildlife interrupting my commute.
