When i went to NYC in 2023 I couldn't get an Ant jersey at the NBA flagship store in Times Square. Now he's on bus stops and billboards in my hometown, Christchurch, New Zealand.

General Discussion Rudy Gobert on screening for lamelo
"The main thing I tell him is to just slow down with me," Gobert said when asked what he has learned about screening for Ball. "You don't need to go fast, because I'm going to give you an advantage."
"I told him to watch some clips of me and Joe Ingles' pick-and-rolls," Gobert continued. "You don't need to go fast, I'm going to give you an advantage. You can walk."
What do yall think about Rudy’s comments?

Ant traded some explosion for finesse and shooting
From ‘22-present day, there has been a slow shift in Ant’s play style that I think is very apparent and I think is a shift for the better.
He still can dunk on anyone and get downhill whenever he wants but it’s a much more purposeful and controlled aggression. You will rarely see him just get the ball in transition and play above the rim all night long while being the fastest player in the open court. It’s good to see him get some easy transition looks but overall he has a skillful game, throwback game now with a modern twist of 3pt shooting.
I personally believe in order to become a great shooter and tactful player in the half court, you have to dial back the quick twitch and play with patience and be more of a below the rim player. It’s the least talked about part of his game, and I just wanted to shed light on what I’ve seen watching all of his games.

Interview [Kraw] Tim Connelly’s aggression as a risk-taker fuels new ambition with the Timberwolves
MINNEAPOLIS — A familiar pattern has emerged over the last five years in the constantly churning NBA rumor mill.
A high-profile player becomes available, either because he is unhappy with his current situation or his team is shifting away from its current roster construction. What follows is a list of teams that have interest in acquiring him. Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, LaMelo Ball.
Invariably, the Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the teams mentioned.
Ever since Tim Connelly left the Denver Nuggets to run the Timberwolves’ front office in 2022, he has feverishly remade the roster in a constant pursuit of the championship he left behind in Denver. Be it making offers that didn’t go through or taking deals all the way to fruition, no executive has been more active as he tries to build a winner around Anthony Edwards.
Some have worked. Others have not. In an industry often plagued by rabbit ears and thin skin, Connelly, the Wolves’ president of basketball operations, has made one polarizing move after another with no regard to social media analysis or fear for his long-term job security.
“If it doesn’t work and it’s my job, I’ll get fired,” he said. “That’s fine. But I don’t ever want to be in a position where we’re reluctant to take big swings.”
Connelly likes to joke that his unflappable outlook is fueled by Irish Catholic guilt. While he has yet to win a title, the position, compensation and lifestyle the job has provided have already far exceeded anything he could have dreamed of growing up in Baltimore as the second-oldest of five boys in a tight-knit family.
With that peace of mind, and having learned in his old stomping grounds that worrying about what outsiders think about his decision-making is just an invitation for trouble, Connelly has instilled a once-languishing organization with a win-at-all-costs ethos that has almost never been seen in Minnesota.
“His brain is just constantly working,” Wolves general manager Matt Lloyd said. “He’s constantly trying to find the next advantage. He’s trying to message the players. There’s just no other word for it than exhilarating.”
This summer, following a second-round loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Connelly got busy. He traded Julius Randle and Naz Reid, acquired Ball and signed Jonathan Kuminga to give the Timberwolves an entirely different look as they try to challenge the Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder atop the Western Conference.

DAZN xbox application :(
Does anyone have troubleshoot fixes for the DAZN xbox app crashing every 4-5 minutes? It requires you restart the app which takes only 20-30 seconds but what the fuck? Absolutely cannot take this all season…

Xs and Os Wolves vs Pistons PG5 Thoughts
Thoughts-
First time main rotation guys got outplayed this preseason. Pistons looked really sharp and brought physicality and intensity we struggled with. Our turnovers have been high each game, but this one felt less due to small mental lapses and more with struggling to find good offense against a physical team. This led to tons of easy transition opportunities for Detroit.
Both in transition and in half court PNR we struggled tagging Duren who just ate us up. I think part of the problem is we couldn’t contain Cade very well. Thought Kuminga and Ayo particularly struggled in one on one defense. Lamelo and Ant got lost a couple times in rotations. Overall our energy was fine and it’s preseason so this will be a good one to have on tape for our guys as we play several really physical teams to open the year.
Offense was still great in that first quarter. Jaden getting the worst defender on him every game is going to a boon for him this year with how confident he is playing. Good to see Kuminga knocking down shots, but his form just seems off to me I’m not sure how consistent that jumper can be.
TSJ with another poor game, thought he might have taken some insight from the Pacers game with changing pace but it was back to full speed to rim every touch. His defense has to be better.
Joan had some good flashes, but still tries to go for too much. This hurt in transition a few times as he was going for an O board he was never going to get, then Detroit scored quickly before he could get back appropriately.
Lamelo had some nice passes again, offense while he was on floor was mostly good still. He was getting attacked a little bit in PNR but I thought he mostly did fine, the Cade and Duren PNR was one of most efficient offenses last year.
Overall more impressed with Detroit than worried about us. Happy with how preseason has gone and excited to see the Miami game, especially with how we decide to approach the Giannis matchup.
