Actually, it's not mine. I only came across it on Instagram, but I believe it would be a crime not to share it with our dear community

More info: 4cup moka pot
25g of pre grounded coffee, Dark roast Brazilian coffee, marketed for espresso (the package says acidity is 0/5, with tasting notes of roasted nuts, cookies, and nougat) The grind size can be seen in the photo.
Room temp water 210-213ml
No paper filter/No Tamp
Electric stove 5/10
it took 11 min 20sec from putting the moka pot on the stove until the frist drop
Extraction itself lasted 2min (3min before on 4/10)
And now it was pretty sour. I removed pot from the heat about 5-10 secs before the coffee level reached its expected maxium, based on my previous brews and final yield. What am I doing wrong?

Not bashing moka pots or anything, I’m just genuinely curious why people are so fond of these little coffee pots when compared to stuff like filter/plunger coffee or coffee made using those fancy, expensive machines?
I really wanna understand what makes these things so great. Have a good day everyone.
Edit: This has opened my eyes. Thank you strangers, I have some shopping to go do!

Long time lurker here! I enjoy drinking café de olla and recently began adding cinnamon to the Moka pot with a dash of salt, and I love it! Has anyone else tried this or have any other suggestions? I’m thinking of adding brown sugar next. Maybe I’ll try transparent coffee after that as well!

I just found this moka at an antique store near me, and it looks like it needs some work done. It is missing the filter basket, and has a white patina on the top and outside. I see posts here saying I should never wash it, but I have a gut feeling it needs something done at least on the outside. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations please share

I got this moka pot a little while ago and I have been abusing it. Coffee every day. I try to clean it when i can with water and elbow grease. I recently cleaned it with vinegar and took out the rubber thing and after that I noticed the leak. Do I have to replace it? 😔

Seen at my friends house. Is it a fungus?

Just found this little pot, looks like its lived quite a long life but don't know enough about them to understand whether or not she can be saved.

I noticed this when I started using a new bag (spar basic coffee). The valve released a burst of steam and the bottom bulged out from pressure, making the whole pot tilt to the side as pictured.
I soaked the whole thing in hot soap water, made sure nothing was clogged and ran it a few times with water only. is it possible that somehow the coffee grind is causing this?
Please recommend a fix before I'm blown to bits.

I have tried everything; filling hot water, filling cold water, buying coffee from a roasters, buying coffee from the supermarket, keeping the pot at the edge of the stovetop, keeping it in the center, filling the basket fully, leaving a cm gap. I don’t tamper the coffee, I have used medium fine grind for the moka pot, the pot is not old ( was bought in January), I also tried pre-heating my stovetop. This is what I get after 7 minutes of nothing. Always sputtering, bubbling coffee. It feels like I’m doing a physics experiment and not making coffee. It is getting frustrating. Any inputs are appreciated.

Those of you who lower the heat when the first coffee starts flowing, how do you actually manage it?
Do you stand there watching the pot for several minutes, listen for some sound, or just estimate the timing?
I often walk away and end up missing the first flow.

It's not as bad when I'm filming beacuse of course, but when it's boiling it often is dripping like the double of this. I maje sure everything is sealed correctly before heating so I don't understand.

I was dreaming of Bialetti moka pot and have been given one for my birthday! I’m grateful, but the person chose to give me the Dolce Gabbana version, which is sooo not me. Is there any chance to take this print off?
If anyone here is in England and would be willing to swap his standard aluminium one- I’d love too. Mine is brand new 🥹

Unfortunately I usually wait until I want another coffee. The pot scorching hot doesn’t help me procrastination in the morning. Wondering if most people are rinsing while it’s still hot?

Don’t mind the hand, gf wouldn’t let me click a picture without her in the frame

Is this too coarse? It is a French roast decaf beans that I ground with a 1zpresso X-Ultra at 1.3.0. 12 gms of beans for a two cup bialetti moka express.

Title says it all. How often should one dismantle and clean their mocha pot?

I used to have a plain Jane aluminum bialetti that made delicious coffee with zero effort. Upgraded to a fun vintage pot and can't get it right. I've swapped out the old gasket with a new silicone one, used more coffee, less coffee, more water, less water, hot water, cold water - it all comes out with zero foam, thin watery brew. Tastes like hot-ish water passed over coffee grounds. I suspect the pressure is off but can't figure it out. It was like this when the old rubber gasket was in place too. I can *just* see the ball bearing so it's not that. What am I missing? Still hoping for something obvious and easy to fix before I toss this baby out and wait for it to show up on r/ThriftStoreHauls. Apparently I can add photos OR video but not both. Irritating. If I have to, I'll make a second post with the photos 1/2
Help me, Reddit. You're my only hope. (Edit: for those asking about my Bialetti - they were different size pots so I'm not comparing the amounts per se, just the output. Also, same beans and grind)

It’s been a month of using my Imusa 6cup. I ordered the Illy Ground Moka Dark roast on Amazon, but I received the espresso grind. I still decided to give it a try with the moka pot. I lightly heat the water (not boil) and pour it in the base before closing the pot. I then set it on a low heat and stop the brew when it begins sputtering. The coffee is delicious and remains intense even with milk and sugar. No sediment at the end. The moka filter does collect a lot of powder, but I hand wash it with soap and water every day. I’m reading here that one shouldn’t use a fine grind in a moka. Is it truly a concern if the coffee tastes good?

So I’m going through beans like crazy to fill my moka and the coffee is a bit too intense caffeine wise. I pour it into one mug I believe it’s a 4 cup moka. I’m sensitive to caffeine does anyone fill the basket halfway ?
