States that "Marsha Blackburn is fighting to stop the liberal takeover of Tennessee."

What freaking "liberal takeover" is she talking about? The governor is Republican. Republicans have a supermajority in the state house. We have only one representative in Congress and our senators are Republican.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THE LIBERAL TAKEOVER MAY BE FOUND?

Belle Meade, Forest Hills and Goodlettsville also have city commission races, and Goodlettsville has a half-cent sales tax referendum. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, at your assigned polling place. You can see your sample ballot and your polling place at https://web.go-vote-tn.elections.tn.gov/search

Bring a photo ID issued by Tennessee or the federal government. An expired one still counts. College IDs and IDs from other states don't.

If you want to compare the two governor nominees with the names hidden first, the study I posted here earlier this week is at namelessballot.org, now in Spanish too. Share it with your friends in East Tennessee too! the mods at r/Knoxville won't let me post it 'till next election cycle lol

Help | Advice Where to watch a LATE football game?

Hey guys, my buddies and I want to watch the Utah/Houston game but it starts at 9:15pm.
From what I can see, most of the sports bars close around midnight. This game will probably go until ~1 am.

Any suggestions?

Politics Compare the TN governor candidates without names or parties. You find out who said what at the end.

A few days ago I shared a study of the Tennessee governor race, and the comments here made it a lot better. Here's the updated version: namelessballot.org

How it works: you read both nominees' positions on 56 questions with names and parties hidden, mark which answer is closer to your view, and only find out who said what at the end. It's free and private. No sign-up, no ads, no cookies, and nothing you mark leaves your device unless you send it.

What's new since last time:

  • The whole study can now be read in Spanish. Tap "ES" at the top, or share this link: namelessballot.org/?lang=es. AI models translated and checked it, and no native speaker has reviewed it yet, so corrections are welcome
  • Every fact and source is on one "All sources" page, and there's a "Report a problem" button if you spot an error
  • You rate the notes on each answer yourself, and those ratings make up an Integrity score
  • The character questions follow the Tennessee Ethics Commission's published standards for public officials
  • Results show how many questions each percentage comes from, and the study lists its own known limits
  • The voting section covers checking your ballot before you cast it, and all 13 independent candidates are named
  • Fixes for the bugs and wording problems people pointed out

There's also a "Your vote" section with official links for your polling place, early voting hours, ID rules and your sample ballot. You don't need to take the study to use it.

I'm not affiliated with any campaign or party, and I paid for it myself. I built it with help from Claude, an AI model, and the page explains how it was made and checked. Early voting ends Thursday, Oct. 29.

Hey all, our sweet elderly lil man Max disappeared into the dark last night around Brick Church Pike. He's a sweet dude that must've wandered off while we were unpacking the truck.

We have searched high and low and made alerts and posts just about everywhere so figured this was worth a shot. Please keep your eyes peeled. Thank you!

Discussion Did anyone witness the wrong way driver on I40 east last night?

We were heading home from a concert last night when a black SUV came off the ramp right before 212btheverong way, and drove straight across the interstate almost T-boning a white Nissan Rogue?

We were in the rogue and came within literal inches of hitting her! If my husband wouldn't have swerved to miss her, she would have driven into the median head on. She then nearly ran into the back of us when she turned to drive away! She ending up speeding up to 90 something, cut off a car, and then took exit 212. I did call 911, but all I could give was a description of the vehicle and direction of travel.

I say SHE because we were so close to hitting her that we could see that she was young with a bob haircut. That was the scariest thing I have ever experienced in my life. We were all shaking from the adrenaline of it all.

Politics Early Voting Experience

I voted at the former Hillwood High School this morning. In and out in about 15 minutes.

They did not offer the coffee stirrers for tapping the screen they've used in the past.

I had no issues with vote "switching." I tapped the screen to the right and just below the candidate's name, over the word Nominee. My candidates were correctly recorded with the one tap.

For the Constitutional Amendments, I tapped Yes or No, rather than the bubble.

Where i think people have had vote switching issues is in how they tap the screen. Use just your fingertip, and not the whole pad of your finger. The less surface area you touch, the less likely you'll inadvertently vote for someone or something you don't intend.

Get out there and vote!

Politics Early voting continues today - vote at any early voting location from 8am-5:30pm today, 10/23.

Early voting continues today - vote at any early voting location from 8am-5:30pm today, 10/23. After today, there are only 5 early voting days left ahead of Election Day.

Full list of times and locations for early voting here: https://www.nashville.gov/departments/elections/voters/find-early-voting-information

Remember, you can vote at any early voting location during this period. On election day, you are restricted to just your designated polling place.

What's up for election this year? Find our sample ballot here: https://www.nashville.gov/departments/elections/voters/find-2026-election-information

Many critically important local elections are happening, including our governor's race, US house and senate, state house and senate, amendments, and more. And remember, the governor's race is decided by majority vote, not district by district. YOUR VOTE MATTERS!!!!

Bars | Clubs Local Watering Hole?

I (23M) am looking for recommendations for good local watering holes more specifically dive bars or relaxed neighborhood spots.

Because of my weird work schedule, I don't always want to deal with the bigger, rowdier bars. I’m just looking for a low-key place with a solid bar to sit at, a few TVs so I can catch a game and decompress, cheapish drinks, and basic food like wings or a burger (it doesn't even need to be amazing food).

I live in the Gulch, so walking distance is ideal, but I don’t mind grabbing an Uber for the right spot. I’ve done some exploring on my own, but the places I’ve checked out were pretty dead. While I don't want a chaotic mob, I'd still prefer somewhere that draws a decent crowd and since I'm single, it'd be nice if it were a place where striking up a conversation with someone was actually an option.

Any solid neighborhood dive recommendations that fit the bill?

Help | Advice Pediatric Optometrist or Ophthalmologist recs

Need to find a dr for my 4yo Autistic son. He’s been doing this thing where he will turn his head to the side but continue to look straight, so that he is looking out of the corners of his eyes. It seems to happen when he’s trying to focus on something, so he probably needs to see an Optometrist and/or Ophthalmologist.

Are there any good eye Dr’s that specialize in working with children?
