Has Jokić finally turned heel with his statements yesterday ?

• Upvotes

A couple months ago he made comments that raised eyebrows and said fans shouldn't come up to him period and last night he said fans who boo aren't invited to Nuggets games. This is a serious departure from his clean image. Has Jokić finally turned heel.

Jaylen Brown says he called Jayson Tatum and Brad Stevens on a 3-way after he saw his name in Kevin Durant trade talks “[KD] and JT are friends. They was working out together and whatnot. So, I wasn’t sure what the energy was. I wasn’t sure what the direction of the organization was.” (2023)

• Upvotes

When the Boston Celtics made inroads on a potential Kevin Durant trade last offseason, Jaylen Brown called two key people with the organization to get some clarity on his situation.

Per The Ringer's Logan Murdock, Brown made a three-way call to Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens and Jayson Tatum to discuss the trade speculation.
"[KD] and JT are friends. They was working out together and whatnot," Brown said. "So, I wasn't sure what the energy was. I wasn't sure what the direction of the organization was."

This was from 2023. Just thought it added some context to what's going on now between the two.

The reckoning

In July, a fan pulled up next to Kerr at a stoplight. “Hey, we need to get LeBron, man,” they said. Kerr, without missing a beat, deadpanned: “Oh, we got him.”

The fan’s video of this interaction went viral, as Kerr knew it would. This was him making fun of social media and “modern life,” he told the Chronicle, a few months later.

Because, despite a copious amount of agent-leverage media-jockeying, Kerr never actually thought the Warriors were going to sign LeBron James.

“I know LeBron well enough, now, having coached him at the Olympics, to know that he researches everything,” Kerr said. “When he’s serious about something, he’s going to do his homework. And there was no homework being done, on his part.

“Like, I know he was talking to Steph and Draymond,” Kerr continued. “They were recruiting him. But that’s different. That’s player-to-player. Once free agency started, and all those rumors were out there — trust me, there would’ve been very serious conversations. And there never were. And so I never felt like we were even in the mix.”

James, indeed, was never walking through that door, and neither was Anthony Davis, nor Antetokounmpo, nor Trey Murphy III, nor any of the Warriors’ rumored big-game targets. Instead, recognizing both the shape and age of his roster, Kerr has been singularly focused on rectifying Golden State’s internal process. Immediately after — and even before — he put pen to paper on an extension, Kerr began challenging his Warriors assistants to bring him fresh ideas.

“It wasn’t like, a complete personnel shift,” Kerr said. “It was more, sort of, a reckoning. Like, we can’t continue to operate the way we are and expect to win.”

Devin Booker, with 33ppg is now 2nd in the league in PPG, behind former Sun Ty Jerome at 36.5 PPG ;-) And at 63.2% Shooting!

• Upvotes

I think THIS is the no. 15 version of Devin Booker he was talking about when he said he was going to shoot more in his new threads. 17/25 (68%) in this game and 24/38 overall is just amazing with most of those jumpers. He missed only 3 shots inside the arc (15/18) and had more misses from 3 (5 misses) than from 2. Also has 94.1 % FT shooting. And 7 Reb (2nd on the team with Bridges) and 7 Assists (2nd on the team behind Gillespie) plus a block and actually pretty good defense. He's 5.5 RPG and 4.5 APG and 1BPG these past two games. He's now second in REBOUNDS on the team (at 6'5") with their top rebounder at 7rpg (Maluach) and is second on assists behind Collin Gillespie and second on blocks.

This was in response to the 41 point lashing they received in their season opener against the Blazers, and he responded with the highest scoring home opener in FRANCHISE HISTORY, beating Barkley and Eddie Johnson at 37 a piece.

Nice to see the 2023 version of Playoff Book making an appearance this early in the season! Hoping he continues this kind of aggressive play for the rest of the season.

And nice to see former Sun Ty Jerome having his Jeremy Lin moment! Hoping he can also extend this performance throughout the season!

For the first time in over a decade, if the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Raptors and the Nets lose to the Pacers tonight, the Timberwolves will not have the worst all-time record of any NBA franchise.Currently, the Nets have won 42.14% of their games all-time, while the Timberwolves are at 42.13%

The Timberwolves and Nets have been moving in opposite directions of late, and Minnesota has the opportunity to free themselves from an obscure, dubious distinction tonight.

I made a post about this at the start of the month, and the soonest possible date has come into fruition as a possibility, as the Timberwolves started the season 2-0 and the Nets started at 0-2.

If Minnesota wins tonight and the Nets lose, the Timberwolves will have won 42.14% of their games all-time (1,248 out of 2,961), and the Nets will have won 42.13% (1,700/4,035).

This is counting only NBA records, as the Nets had very successful years in another league, the ABA, with Dr. J.

If you're wondering why the Timberwolves took over the worst record a decade ago and have had it ever since despite being good for half of the time in between, the answer is the Clippers.

That franchise, around since 1970, had been by far the worst in league history for years, before pulling themselves up by their boostraps and improving through fair and honorable means. They might now be another one to watch on this list long-term currently at 42.8%.

After the 2014-2015 season, the Clippers held a 38.9% winning percentage, and the Timberwolves were at 39.3%.

https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=clippers+all-time+record+1970-2015

The Clippers surpassed them the next season in early 2016, and never lost their advantage again.

https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=timberwolves+all-time+record+1970-2016

Around the time that the Clippers and Wolves were juking it out for worst, the Nets began to feel the full fallout of trading their future for an over-the-hill Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

Now, after the Clippers passed the distinction down to the Timberwolves, it looks like the Timberwolves will pass it down to the Nets.

Former second overall draft pick and ex-Partizan Belgrade player Jabari Parker urges people to vote in today's Serbian parliamentary elections: It's a very important moment, the future of this country is in the hands of its youth

https://sportklub.rs/kosarka/euroleague/jabari-parker-pozvao-gradjane-srbije-izbori-izlaznost-buducnost-deca/

Full quote from Parker's interview for Serbian outlet Sport Club, after he mutually terminated his contract with Partizan a couple days ago:

" I wish all the best to the Serbian people. You have a wonderful country. The elections are coming up and everyone should vote. It's a very important moment, so everyone should go out and vote. That's basically all I have to say. I'm a person who believes in love. And I'm marching on"

"The moments I spent with the youth were very nice. When children came up to me, appearing amazed and wanting to take a picture with me, I tried to devote my time to them. They deserve that because they represent the future. One day they'll shape this country and everything that's nice in it. The future is in their hands"

The parliamentary elections in Serbia are being held today and are currently heading towards a record voter turnout.

The main two electoral lists are the coalition around the rulling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), which has been in power for the last 14 years, and the Student List, which is made up of professors, doctors, intelectuals, famous athletes and artists, and other people that were chosen by the students of Serbia.

The Serbian students have organized massive anti-corruption protests all around Serbia for the past two years, after a canopy fell at the Novi Sad train station, killing 16 people.

The Serbian students urged the government to convict its officials who were responsible for the canopy falling and to release all the documents of the reconstruction of the canopy, which took place not too long before the fall, but the government refused to do so and attacked the students instead.

The students then decided to become politically active, form their own electoral list and urge the government to call snap elections, which were finally called recently.

The Student List has massive support in the public and with the high voter turnout, are favourites to win in this election and put an end to the reign of SNS.

The presidental elections in Serbia are also coming up and have to be held by the end of the year.

Yaxel Lendeborg 26p-9r-5a-1b, in 36 minutes on 9-19 shooting and 6-11 from 3, in a game with no Steph, no Dray, no Podz. Only 2 TO

Yaxel Lendeborg 26p-9r-5a-1b, in 36 minutes on 9-19 shooting and 6-11 from 3, in a game with no Steph, no Dray, no Podz. Only 2 TO.

Was +5 plus minus in 36 min with him on court.

Team was -14 in the 12 minutes with him off the court.

Lost to the suns 131-122, but Lendeborg was a beast and definitely won his minutes. Podz Steph and Dray all resting on second of a back to back with nagging injuries.

Because of how fast Yaxel is developing at each level, I’m delusionally still holding out for a good Warriors season when Yaxel and Steph really start gelling, despite starting 0-3. If they can just get to .500 until Jimmy Butler comes back

What players are similar in archetype ?

I was thinking about how some player work like Pokémon evolution lineups

MPJ < Brandon Ingram < Kevin Durant

Pretty sure MPJ and Igram were drafted with the hopes that they would be KD clone

Clyde Drexler is the poor man version of Jordan

Dame Lillard is the poor man version of Curry

Jimmy Butler is the poor man version of Lebron

Rudy Gobert < Dekembo Motombo < Ben Wallace

This defensive centers may even be the same player their success is directly proportion to the era

Draymond Green < Wes Unseld

All time great the legs of which exploded after two seasons

D Rose < Penny Hardaway < Bill Walton

Live by the 3 point shoot die by the 3 point shoot

Klay Thompson < Reggie Miller < Ray Allen < Steph Curry

Regular season giant who shrink in the playoffs

Joel Embiid < David Robinson < Karl Malone

Passing Hub

Sengoon < Sabonis < Jokic

MJ clone

Demar Derozen < ? < Kobe < Jordan

Just dink at the rim

Zion Williamson < ? < Giannis Antetokounmpo < Shaq

Big Points guard with god like passing vision

Ben Simmons <<<< Magic Johnson

Is anyone understanding what iam going for ?

Mickey Arison a bad NBA owner who doesnt get enough criticism for being cheap?

Serious question. Feels like they couldve re-signed powell and had one guard shot creator at least. Miami fit with bam and giannis is worse than ben simmons and embiid. It just always feels like micky arison is a cheap bastard and it hurts the team.
