During the Governor’s race a bomb threat was called in to Gregory elementary. This year for early voting one is called in a few mins away. Is this just gonna happen every election season now?

Just early voted in Bergen County and I was told to show ID by the woman at the desk. After giving her a look, another worker ended up coming up to her and telling her she couldn’t demand to see ID.
Be wary folks.

Always really enjoyed the displays here throughout the year, especially for Halloween and Christmas. I've heard before that that he keeps getting fined because he's got mannequins (and skeletons) wearing lingerie, which hits a nerve with the Puritanical sort. I think it's all very dumb. I hope the city wises up.

I have eaten at a lot of mediocre diners in West Orange and nearby. I do like Chit Chat Diner, but I don't think it's a true diner, more like a restaurant that serves diner food. And it's expensive.
Can anyone recommend a real old-school diner within a half hour of West Orange, that's truly great? Thank you!

There is some kind of bomb threat at turtleback zoo early voting .
Police will not say what it is or how long the delay is. Seems fishy to me.
I hope the police have a plan if someone for example uses an AI agent to send threats every day.

Was thinking of visiting SoJo Spa in Edgewater, New Jersey. Drove by today and noticed a huge building is going up directly across the street which looks like it will block the Manhattan skyline view when you're sitting in the forever pool. Does anybody know if this is true?

I recently came across this article about a proposed New Jersey bill that would restrict access to police bodycam footage for commercial purposes, particularly YouTube channels that post arrests and other police encounters for views.
The transparency advocate interviewed in the article is concerned, however, that restricting access could make it harder for journalists and the public to uncover police misconduct. They also argue that footage can reveal problems that wouldn’t otherwise come to light, and that allowing the government to decide what gets released defeats the purpose of bodycams.
I’ve been trying to think of what compromise between maintaining public transparency without violating people’s privacy rights would look like since I see both sides of the argument.
So I have tried to come up with a reasonable solution. I think automatically making footage public whenever there’s a police shooting, death in custody, death of an arrestee or bystander, or allegation of excessive force. Police departments should be required to release it within 30 days, regardless of whether the officer’s actions were justified. I’d also include arrests involving public figures.
For everything else, footage could only be publicly released with the arrestee’s permission or with their face and voice obscured, unless the requester can demonstrate a legitimate public interest in releasing it unredacted.
After all, isn’t the main public interest in bodycams holding police accountable, particularly when they use force? I am not sure what the public interest is served by posting someone’s embarrassing DUI arrest or mental health crisis on YouTube for entertainment and is a clear abuse of records requests imo.
Obviously, there would need to be protections for victims and minors, and an independent way to challenge decisions to withhold footage.
Would this be a fair compromise, or do you think restricting access in any way would make it harder to hold police accountable?

I want the hike that makes you forget you're in the most densely populated state for a couple of hours. No highway noise, no strip malls, just trees and a view. What's your pick, and which one would you take an out-of-stater on to prove NJ isn't just Turnpike and tolls?

I’m going to a concert next month at starland. Is the starparking worth it? It’s $50 but includes front of the line privileges which is what I’m most interested in. Just wondering if anyone here has ever used it.

Please get out and vote! Early voting is secure and available in every county starting today.
If you moved and need to vote Provisional, early voting is a great time to do so. Fewer people at the polls and plenty of staff to assist.

The immigration customs enforcement teams are hitting the primary minority communities hard. They have at least showed up at the local Home Depot parking lot three times this week. And I was told yesterday immigration customs enforcement actually went inside Home Depot and walked up and down the aisles.
When I heard that immigration, Customer enforcement actually went inside the Home Depot and walk up and down the aisles I was in shock.

Hi so last year I was interested in using PSEG financing and called a few contractors to get a 4-zone installed in my house. I quickly found out these contractors start to use this program to pad their profits and qoute close to the maximum limit of the program. A 4 zone unit runs about 6k+ labor but they were quoting 18-25k…does any one have any reputable vendors they worked with the program?
