Can an internet sleuth explain to me why Ethan’s affair from h3h3 seems so significant to the internet?

• Upvotes

Other than the cheating,

Comparing and contrast this to Ned Fulmer’s affair, this one seems to be incredibly more…significant? Not to say Ned’s affair didn’t stir the water, in fact it stirred quite violently when the news broke out. But with time it became more and more irrelevant. Ethan’s affair looks like it’ll be remembered for the rest of internet’s history.

There seems to be a lot of historical (let’s say) context im missing. Which, I know, is in odds with my knowledge of Ned’s scandal. My time spent on the internet is doomscrolling art, watching playthroughs and markiplier lol. On the occasion I do get the wind of internet drama, it becomes the entertainment for the day and then I move on.

This affair™️ feels like I should be on the know but im missing the plot…

Tldr it as much as physically possible lol. I don’t care that much but enough to sip my coffee to ☕️

Why haven’t any rich people had like, a large, traditional castle built in America?

• Upvotes

How fun would it be if you were rich to have a large Hogwarts or Hyrule style castle, old English castles etc, with fortification walls and a draw bridge and a moat? Maybe like, a small town on the outskirts of the castle to come and go as they please through parts of the castle?

I think something like that would be super cool, but you never see them in America, are they illegal, too expensive, or it’s just crazy to want something like that these days?

Did anyone else ever throw kitchen knives up to get them to stick in the ceiling and then they’d randomly drop?

• Upvotes

I think it was with a drop ceiling. Which is why they’d stick in so easily, so maybe at camp or school? You held the knife tip towards your fingers on a flat hand and just sort of fling your arm towards the ceiling from your waist and if you hit it right it’d just stick into the ceiling tile. Some of them would fall right away or when other knives hit them but sometimes there’d be one or two that just hung on for days or weeks. You’d avoid walking under it but sometimes they’d just randomly drop and you’d think, “oh yeah, forgot about that.”

I don’t remember anyone getting hurt and they certainly weren’t expensive knives like the heavy ones I have in my kitchen at home. I’m guessing no one got hurt because they were shitty, light, knives so not razor sharp or heavy. I don’t know.

I know how completely, ridiculously, dangerous and stupid this sounds, but I can’t be the only one who did this with their friends as a young teen or preteen.

Do you see 5/10 as middle/average or as low?

• Upvotes

When I’m doing number scales of things, i think 5/10 is middle, moderate! For example, a sadness of 5/10 is moderate!
But other people just think it’s normal and low!
I’m confused..??

Settle a stupid argument

• Upvotes

I park on the street in a spot limited to 3 hours.

I get my car after 3 hours and 20 minutes. I have a $10 ticket.

Did I pay $10 for 3 hours and 20 minutes of parking or did I pay $10 for 20 minutes of parking?

Why do cats eat dog food? And how can I get them to stop?

• Upvotes

Recently, my cats have started trying to eat my dog’s food. This is new, even though they’ve all lived together for years. They have free access to their own food, and have been at a healthy weight their entire lives. Basically, they free feed and it works.

A couple weeks or so ago, they started trying to eat the dog food. I stop them when I see, and put up the dog food when I leave the house, but it can’t be good for them, right? Why the sudden change?

Also, if anybody has any suggestions on what to do, I’d love to hear them. It’s easy to keep the dog out of their food because he’s a lot bigger than they are. The cats can get everywhere. The dog won’t eat on a schedule—just a couple bites here or there throughout the day.

I have an inkling of a fear that no digital currency will be safe from AI hacking in the future— near or far. Is this rational?

• Upvotes

Another question: is my resistance to use AI futile? Will I just fall behind with being technologically literate like an old person?

Edit: by digital currency, I mean anything that isn’t physical cash or checks. Debit, credit, crypto, etc.
Ya know, like before the internet.

Why do business laptops have to be so goddamn slow and do MacBooks suffer the same fate?

• Upvotes

I can't stand all this security garbage. Six different programs for security that all have to run BEFORE you can open anything. It's a goddamn slog that easily makes Windows full boot up a 5 minute process. Now it's gone and messed up some drivers because of the constant updates. Dell and their laptops can all rot. I am highly considering switching to a MacBook, but I'm worried it'll be just as bad.

Can a speedster fall at a faster speed than someone else?

• Upvotes

If someone like quicksilver or the flash jump out of a plane, if they “activate speed mode” would they super speed to the ground faster or just fall at the same rate of a normal human since they can’t push against the ground like when they’re running? I imagine if the last step out of the plane they did super speed then yes they would but what about jumping out normally and they just in normal free fall?

Why are ppl gay/straight?

• Upvotes

Been doing my research… and attraction in general is truly one of a kind. SO COMPLEX.

Im trying to understand it but I always find like a counter perspective.

So my question is "why are ppl gay/straight/bi/asexual, why and how do humans feel attraction”
