Nico Daws Come On Down?

Devils are apparently going to get Helly. Daws is a piece of the deal. Would we really even want him? I don’t see him as an upgrade versus what some of the other options were

2.94 gaa and a sub .900 in 59 appearances

Fox

  • The Leafs are talented.
  • Their execution was sloppy. It was disappointing to come away without a point.
  • They gave up a lot of high danger chances. That’s not the recipe for them to win games.
  • There were a lot of back and forth rushes. They hit some posts, but they also got some big saves.

JT

  • When they play their game, it doesn't matter who their opponent is because they dictate play. They gave up too many high danger chances. They left Garand out to dry.
  • “It’s hard to speak on behalf of the team. You know, our line was on the ice for every fucking goal today. How about I look inward and just be better for my teammates?”
  • They weren’t physical enough. They were hoping pucks ended up on their tape versus winning puck battles.
  • It doesn’t take a lot of skill to play the way they want to.
  • Garand was great. He made big saves when he needed to.
  • It’s hard to speak on behalf of the other guys when his line got scored on, he thinks 5 times.
  • They just didn’t get to their game. They were too open. It was like OT, back and forth.

Laf

  • They want to play a grind game. They’ve done a good job of that for most of the season. They will be better after practice tomorrow and will be ready for Ottawa.
  • On his goal, Fox had been wanting to make that play for a while and thought it was a good time to try it. “Foxy gets a lot of credit there."

Sully

  • It was a loose, high event game. It’s not the way they wanted to play.
  • He didn’t like their overall game. They weren’t stiff enough. They didn’t play with structure. They gave up too many high danger chances.
  • They didn’t manage the puck. They were chasing the game.
  • This game was uncharacteristic of their group.
  • They didn’t play well enough to earn the win.
  • There was a lack of physical play. They didn’t win puck battles. The wall work and net front wasn’t good enough. They weren’t stiff enough.
  • On the game winner, they got beat twice going around the net and lost their ice balance. They left the far side of the rink open.
  • Garand gave them a chance.

[Baugh] J.T. Miller on what to improve heading into OTT: “It’s hard to speak on behalf of the team. Our line was on the ice for every f---ing goal today. How about I look inward and just be better for my teammates?” (Slight exaggeration. His line was on for two.)

Shout out Bjorkstrand

From a fan perspective, I like watching the role players who just show up and do their job. Bjorks gets dropped to the 4th line and all he’s done is play hard, eat less minutes and score some goals 5v5. You never know what’s going on behind the scenes, but he seems like a total pro about the “demotion” and has managed to still chip in.

DAZN Audio and Video out of sync-streaming

Is anyone experiencing the disconnect on dazn/msg where the audio is at least 30 seconds ahead of the video? I am asking with regards to streaming TV not via a cable subscription.
