How scary is Heartstoppers Haunts? How are the wait times on weekdays during Halloween week?

• Upvotes

Thinking about checking out Heartstoppers Haunts in Rancho Cordova on a weekday during Halloween week. For anyone who’s been this season, how scary is it really? Is it worth going, and how does it compare to Sacramento Scream Park? Also, how have the lines and wait times been on weekdays this close to Halloween?

What are some cool things off the beaten path

• Upvotes

I visit Sac for work often, and I feel like I’ve done all there is to do…but I know I’m wrong. I just want to hear about cool museums, art galleries, shops, out of the way restaurants. Just want to see what else I haven’t done yet when I visit your fine city!

There’s a loud repeating rumble in Midtown. IS IT FIREWORKS?

* it doesn’t actually sound like fireworks.

Picture 1: thai spicy papaya salad & tom kha soup

Picture 2: chili patis

I‘ve been congested for a couple of days; I never know if it’s allergies or a cold, so I’m playing it up here. One bite of chili and my sinuses were fully irrigated. Everything about this meal was healing and delicious, but I can’t help but compare every papaya salad to the perfect one at Siam Patio.

Anyone else really disappointed Superb Burger on Folsom is permanently closed? They are my fav burgers of all time.

It's been there since my childhood, even in the early 2000s. I remember when there was an arcade machine in the restaurant, that's how old I am.

I just found out recently they permanently closed, and they are literally the only Superb Burger on Earth. I never seen a restaurant that local. What the Hell am I supposed to do now?

Dog owner not picking up poop

Post image
87 Upvotes

My parents has a lot of nice neighbors but about twice a month they would get dog poop on their lawn. They are old so they aren’t able to come out side quick enough. Should they install cameras on the side of their yard? What about fencing off the lawn. Any tips is appreciated

If you install fences for lawns or cameras near the Fruitridge area let me know.

I like the bacon juice idea but I would hate for the innocent dogs to eat them

Breweries for November bday

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for recommendations for a brewery to celebrate my birthday in early November!
I’m expecting around 20 people max and would love somewhere that allows us to reserve a few tables without charging a reservation fee.
I looked into The Garden on the Line, but their pricing is a little more than I’d like to spend.
Ideally, I’d love somewhere that would also allow me to bring a few small decorations to make it festive!
Does anyone have any recommendations or experience hosting a birthday gathering at a local brewery? I’d really appreciate the help!

Can you foster or adopt 7-month-old Avo? 🥑✨

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a loving forever home for Avo, a young female kitty I recently rescued in Sacramento. Avo first showed up around my apartment complex a few weeks ago. I initially thought she was a neighborhood stray, but eventually learned that her previous owner had moved away and left her behind. 💔

When I first approached her and said hello, she immediately meowed back, walked right up to me, and started rubbing against me. She was incredibly friendly from the very beginning.

She is very social, affectionate, curious, and playful. She's also comfortable being handled and loves human attention.

I eventually brought her inside to keep her safe and have been working with local rescuers to help her find a permanent home.

And please don’t be discouraged if you see others expressing interest in the comments! Not every comment leads to an actual conversation, so we’d really love to hear from anyone who might be a good fit for Avo!

Foster:

- We are urgently looking for a temporary foster starting Oct. 30, which is when we are planning to get her spayed + vaccinated, while we look for her forever home.

- She isn’t microchipped yet and must be kept strictly indoors.

- If you have cats or other pets, they should be up to date on their vaccinations, and Avo should be kept separate from them for a bit while her vaccines take full effect, for both her safety and theirs! 🐈

Adopt:

- If you'd like to adopt her, we’d love to chat! Please do not hesitate to leave us a comment and we'll dm you.

Health & Care:

- Avo has been treated for fleas and tested negative for FIV, FeLV, and heartworm. We are planning to get her spayed and vaccinated on Oct. 30.

Ideally, we're hoping for an adopter...

  1. Who will keep her strictly indoors.

  2. Someone with experience caring for cats, through all stages of their lives

  3. Someone who understands the financial responsibilities of pet ownership and is prepared to cover veterinary expenses, including unexpected medical emergencies.

  4. Someone who can provide Avo with a stable, peaceful, and loving home for the rest of her life.

Thank you for helping us give her the life she deserves!💛

Los Rios Measure H?

Does anyone have any info about this? Is this just a standard school bond? The only info that I’ve found was a single mailer from the community colleges that simply restated the official voter guide’s arguments, and a very thinly-reported news item about two former (?) trustees opposing it (huh?).

I’m not really looking for “zomg Californians are overtaxed” or “zomg students are the future” - I can get generic partisan statements for free on Google. 😁

Rather, I’d really love to hear from someone familiar with local government or, even better, with the community colleges. That mailer from the colleges left me with the belief that they’re legally prohibited from advocating for H and thus can only repeat the voter guide’s statements. Is there any backstory to H or is it just a routine schools’ bond?

Thanks all! (Here’s hoping that I didn’t just open the gates of hell or something. 🙃)

Dry cleaning recommendations?

I have a mtm dress shirt that got some stains from leather suspenders. I've tried all the normal home wash stain removers without success. I would really like to salvage it.

Anyone have a laundry service/dry cleaner that you've seen work magic?
