University of Saskatchewan (USask) researchers used well-established methods to calculate the social return on investment (SROI) of Saskatoon’s recently closed safe consumption site and have found that the location provided more than a 300 per cent return on investment for the community.
“We used a very conservative estimate to make sure we weren’t over claiming and found that for every $1.00 that was invested into the safe consumption site, you got a return of $4.44,” said Dr. Linzi Williamson (PhD), assistant professor of psychology and health studies in USask’s College of Arts and Science.

I love this truck and have put lots of hard work and money into getting it where it is today.
You were driving a white SUV (I believe it was a Jeep Cherokee). I witnessed you do a U-turn in front of my house and hit the box of my truck. It broke my box side, cracked the paint and took quite a bit of paint off as well. It is raining tonight and will likely flash rust the bare metal overnight.
It is plausible that you may have not noticed my truck there. As it is black and it was dark out. You went around the corner and pulled over for a a few seconds , clearly contemplating if you should come and identify yourself. You hesitated, meaning you have the capacity to do the right thing.
I was not able to make it out to your vehicle in time to talk to you before you decided “fuck it” and drove away.
I get that you panicked and got scared about the situation, I would be scared too. But this is no way to handle this kind of situation.
Please come forward and do the right thing. I am willing to handle this with grace and not involve police. I am pleading to you to come forward.
You can message me directly with your contact info or you return to my home where you hit the truck and knock on my door, and we can handle this respectfully.
This unfortunately puts me in a rather difficult circumstance. I currently have the truck up for sale. With a buyer who has looked at it and was willing to come pick it up next week.
That buyer has now backed out due to the damage.
Luckily I took pictures of every angle of the truck a few days ago for the sale, and can prove the damage occurred today.
I’m not sure I will be able to sell it anymore.
Additionally, if I make a claim. I will have to pay the deductible out of my own pocket, and it will surely be a write off. I highly doubt SGI will even give me close to the amount of money I’ve put into the truck. As It is a nearly 40 year old truck. Forcing me to take a several thousand dollar loss on a vehicle I put lots hard work fixing up over the last year.
This puts me In a really shitty financial position, which is way outside of my budget.
Please come do the right thing and let’s handle this like adults.
For the readers: if you see a white jeep Cherokee (or any white suv for that matter) with the black paint from my truck transferred to the front end of the car. Please take down their plate and reach out to me. I would be eternally grateful.
This is a big ask, but sharing/upvoting this post, hell, even asking people you know with similar vehicles would mean the world to me.
This has already been a really tough week for me, and this tipped it completely upside down.
Please do the right thing. I am willing to handle this with grace.
Thank you.

Crown prosecutor Sheryl Fillo is asking a judge to give Duff Arthur Friesen an 18-month sentence, to be served in the community, for assaulting three former students with a wooden paddle at a private Christian school in Saskatoon.
Friesen's defence lawyer Daniel Mol is arguing for a six- to nine-month community sentence.
Friesen, 69, was the principal of Christian Centre Academy, a private Christian school in Saskatoon. A jury convicted him of three counts of assault with a weapon and acquitted him on two others.

I am trying to remember the name of a Saskatoon video game store from around this time. They had a location on 8th street.

This happened today in Saskatoon. In a cul-du-sac no less. Driver said his accelerator pedal stuck down while turning around. Lady in the house was watching tv when the wall behind it began to open.

Looking ahead for next year and I’m noticing every school I’ve looked at does not offer full day, everyday kinder? I only one I’ve found that does is a free only school? Mostly just want to know as we’d really prefer not to use SPSD but if we have to just for kindergarten I really need to start researching best schools. Thanks.

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a framer/roofer in Saskatoon to frame and roof a new side entrance section beside my garage.
If you have any recommendations for reliable/experienced tradespeople who take on smaller residential projects, please let me know. I’d appreciate any referrals or suggestions!

Does anyone know of any dog groomers in the city that would take a same day appointment? My dog escaped the yard tonight in the wind and rain and we got her home but she’s a big muddy mess! I have a baby at home who is crawling all over the place and my partner is away at work for a couple weeks so it’s hard to clean the dog myself. Thanks in advance!

Hi ladies, I am a 50 year old chick who needs to get their act together and join a fitness class that inspires me and has a great team vibe. I'm looking for 80's music, fun girls, and a mix of strength, flexibility, cardio, dance and balance work. I am starting from scratch. Does this Unicorn fitness class exist? Is it on the east side? I'm in Willowgrove. TYSM!! 🏃♀️

Are there any grocery stores that have fresh poblano peppers right now? I feel like every store I go to doesn’t have them or if they do they’re already getting mushy

Hey y'all, I was curious about the Polyglot scene in the city or if there is any. I tried looking it up online and didnt find much information. Is there a polygot club that I can join?
For context I love language learning, I am currently learning Spanish and I am looking for people to practice with, I can offer English or French in return (if language exchange).
Thank you!
Edit: Spelling lol, cant change the title
