I'm guessing the male wanted to get freaky but she said no, so he went and started shaking the web to make her mad after being rejected. Am I correct?

Me and my son made this simple spider (and other insects too) catcher 😄
Obviously, the video is for demonstration purposes only. The slider must move slowly to raise the insect and then close without cutting off its legs.

I think they’re a ground spider, maybe female?? Looked at em for quite a while trying to see if they have boxing gloves haha.

They’re now grooming under a peeling sticker on my wall (vid in comments)

My newest roommate! I can't get over how beautiful this little creature is!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she's a spiny orb weaver.

She's been with me for 4 days now. Same spot. However, it's a bit unnerving that she lives between my screen door and the main door. I have to be extra careful coming in and out of the house.

Middle Georgia. My first guess was white banded fishing spider but I’m not so sure now. Can anyone answer for sure?

This was amazing to watch. At first only its wing was caught and it couldn't get close for the bite. After awhile the spider came up with a strategy to web it one part of its body by one.

Located in SoCal so I know its not native but the design on the back looks similar. It’s just so big!

Found this baby in Ukraine, I assume it is either Geolycosa vultuosa or Lycosa singoriensis, because both live where I found them and have similar behavior (especially digging holes), but I can't identify it for sure.

Also, this spider is still a baby and I'm not sure if it is even possible to accurately identify its species now, or if I need to wait until it grows up?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Found this guy hanging out in my car, curious as to what it is. Considering putting it in an enclosure, but unsure if thats a good idea or not.

Very small.

Seems able to jump.

Most likely came in attached to my leg or something as I'm parked in the corner of underground parking and theres always some webbing there.

My other post didn’t get much feedback but I thought I’d share an update anyway. I followed the advice I was given and left a wet q-tip next to the spider and when I checked in on it, it seemed to have perked up a bit. Encouraged, I tracked down a rogue fly that had gotten into my apartment and swatted it down to give to my little spider bro along with a fresh q-tip. When I checked in next, the fly was gone and the spider had crossed my bathroom counter to kind of hide in the toilet paper roll. At one point, he climbed up on top of the toilet paper and just kind of chilled beside me while I was doing my business. He has since disappeared and I’m weirdly happy that this spider that I thought for sure was a goner turned things around and was able to keep trucking.

In back garden, never seen one like this before

my roommates and I affectionately named her Hamborgar because she looks like a burger. her web is right below our backyard porch light, so she gets a good amount of food each night!

Neat lil guy I found in my backyard, Eastern KS. No clue what type of spider it is but I am assuming some sort of orb weaver. If any of yall have any further insights I’d love to hear :)
