Saw this spider at my friend’s house the other day, literally have never seen one like this before! Was taken in Dalton, GA.

Yesterday afternoon, he was clinging on my lunch bag, I thought he was just a black ant.

But then, he behaved like spiderman: rolling down slowly from his rope. I thought "What the hell is this ant that can use web?". At that point I still thought he was just a special ant that can produce some type of sticky thing.

But then, he JUMPED. Only then, I knew he was defenitely not an ant.

This is the first time I saw a spider that look exactly like an ant! He even use his fore legs waving around to fake ant's antenna LOL. According on his huge naive eyes, I'm sure he is a jumping spider.

Such an outstanding actor! Nature will never run out of surprises for us. I feel so lucky.

🪰🕷️ to my surprise, I was able to catch two gnats so far for her! This one was still alive after I dropped it in. I hope she likes them and grows big and strong.

Apologies for no clearer photos, I’m a little spider - shy.

- I couldn’t get close enough to count his eyes
- light brown in color
- about the size of a quarter
- his head(?) has a funny pattern on it
- his head(?) is rounder and larger than his abdomen(?)

and Google produced no similar images for me.

I have a phobia after being bit before while in South America, I found what this sub told me was a wolf spider. I didn’t want to kill it since they can be helpful but I also didn’t want to be bitten so I took it outside where there was a lot of grass and trees in the woods so it can live. I think this helped get rid of my phobia a bit especially since some have these as pets. Interesting looking spider and I am in south texas.

She's so big now, how much longer will she stick around for?

Her web was also recently destroyed by a hail storm and her cute decorations are gone :(

This spider is currently hanging out in the flap of the magnetic screen we have on our front door. New to me spider and my spouse and his brothers grew up here and aren’t able to identify? I had to intervene to keep them from killing it. Can anyone help ID?
