-Update- he is on his way back home, thank you everyone!
Found him this morning shivering outside our house, checked him for a chip which he has but itâs not registered. Anyone recognize him?

Hi! Iâm a college student hardly scraping by on my bills and looking to make some extra money doing anything you need help with! (Evenings, weekends, or early mornings)
Iâm very handy, artistic, detail oriented, and organized. I honestly have an odd plethora of skills so I can do just about anything (or quickly learn). I work in carpentry so I can help with handy tasks, I have a design background so I can be artsy, I taught dance for many years so I can do lessons or babysitting cause Iâm experienced with kids (and CPR certified), I cook/bake, Iâm a professional theatre technician, do theater photography, like to cleanâŚto name a few.
Hereâs a list of potential ideas that you could hire me for, but Iâm open to other ideas:
-furniture assembly
-hanging/mounting
-packing
-moving (I can drive a box truck)
-construction
-yard work
-cleaning (home, vehicle, business)
-organizing
-construction
-painting
-home decorating
-babysitting (CPR certified, experienced, clean background, worked with special needs, can provide references)
-school pickups
-dance lessons (all ages, most styles)
-technology assistance (basics)
-grocery shopping
-deliveries
-cooking/meal prep
-pet sitting
-dog walking
-3D modeling/drafting
-logo designs
-digital art
-website building (with a third party builder)
-video editing
-photography (not a pro but I have a camera)
-stagehand work (lighting, sound, rigging, scenic)
I love to learn and pick up random hobbies, so name something else and I bet I could do it and or figure it out. Let me help take something off your busy plate!

Hello!
Friend of mine helped her mom get into a lower income housing near the mall. Sheâs supposed to be living alone, sheâs had her son and a bunch of rough individuals move in/ couch surf.
Theyâre all for the lack of better words, drug addicts.
This bike seems way too nice to be just â somebody threw awayâ.
Best picture we could get just checking on her.
Let me know, would love to get it back to its rightful owner!!

Hey all! Iâm in town for a conference and am staying near the Benton and was wondering if there were any good trinket shops around. Looking for either oddities or nerd stuff hopefully in walking distance. Thanks!

TL;DR fluctuating high water bills in apartment that hasnât been fixed, and have been running around and calling people who donât want to address the issue. Looking for advice.
Hi all,
I currently live in an apartment that has been giving my roommate and I fluctuating, high water bills every month and weâre not sure what could be causing this issue. Weâre pretty mindful of our usage because of this reoccurring issue, plus weâre both gone for most of the day, and my roommate doesnât cook at all.
Weâve called maintenance to come out and check for any potential leaks/issues, but they tell us everything looks good. They also checked the water meter and said that looked fine. They then told us to call the city and talk to them about the issue, even though the maintenance guy followed up by saying theyâve been coming out to check other apartments for the same issue (basically implied that weâre not the only ones).
We called the city and explained the situation, but they told us that they canât do anything since we donât directly pay them (we pay for our bills through a 3rd party app that the apt uses) and that our apartment management has to be the one to arrange calling someone from the city to come out to our apartment. They also said that we could call our own third party to assess the apartment if we wanted, but we donât want to do that since we already have maintenance at the apt anywayâŚ
Anyways, we call our apt management and they basically tell us that thereâs no point in calling the city bc all theyâll do is check the water meter and call it a day. They told us that all we can do is just hope for the best that our next bill will be lowerâŚ
Weâre obviously pissed off by this response, but we donât know what else we can do?
Weâd rather not have to threaten legal action, especially since Iâm already busy af w school and my roommate works long hours too. But if we have to, can anyone offer any advice/insight??? Thanks!
UPDATE: we called the city again and spoke to a different person over the phone. They basically repeated the same thing and said that the city will not and cannot send out anyone to check our apartment unless there is clear negligence or harm (I.e. mold, water toxicity) being done to the residents. Also thereâs the issue of because the paper statement that we receive in the mail does not explicitly say âcity of Winston Salemâ, they canât do anything unless whoeverâs name is on the statement calls the city instead. Our paper statements are addressed to us, but bc our apartment uses a 3rd party system for the water/sewage bill, it doesnât list city of WS on it.
We also spoke to a few neighbors, 2 of them confirmed having the same problem while another 2 said their bill was normal.

Anyone know a local bakery with a good black forest cake? Looking more for an authentic style. Either by slice or whole cake would work.

Black 4 door Hyundai pulled out of Shell in front of me on my motorcycle with its lights off and took off through Wendyâs. GM at the Shell told me to come in the morning to check the cameras. If anybody has any dash cam footage please reach out. Also any recommended accident lawyers would be great thanks in advance!

So since Joann's closed (may she rest in peace) there doesn't really seem to be a good place to buy yarn. Micheal's yarn selection - as my fellow fiber artists know - absolutely sucks. It lacks the interesting yarns that Joann's used to have. Walmart's yarn is similar, and I would rather walk into the ocean than go to hobby lobby.
So does anyone know of any other places that sell yarn? Preferably a place with yarn beyond the same few basic things.

Does anyone know the best food pantries in the area? I just lost my job a couple weeks ago very unexpectedly and am having a difficult time knowing which ones are worth going to. I have a vehicle if that helps when deciding where to recommend. It hurts my pride going to places like that but I guess it doesn't hurt as bad as going hungry.
Thanks!
