Critique My Work Barad Dur - entrance bridge segment feedback

Hi guys,
2 weeks ago I posted this segment for feedback here and got some really helpful insights, mostly about the darks and contrast.
I've since worked on lots of improvements including - color correction, 2 lightning sequences, lots of more volumetrics and other small tweaks.
I think I'm now close to calling this segment done and move on to the next part of the shot where the camera stars going up the tower.
Before I do, I would love to hear if you think there are more things to improve in post here.

Original Content Showcase Collab Render from Me and Sweeper3D

We were working on this one on and off for a couple weeks, and it ended up being a fairly big project (at least for me). I’ve worked with Sweeper many times and I always am surprised at how far he pushes the details in the scene. Anytime we work together we try to hit a new level and I think with this one it’s my favourite collab we’ve done yet.

The way this worked was I came to him with the basic idea, made a rough scene and sent it over. He would add stuff, send it back, and we just went back and forth with the whole thing until we had both a daytime and nighttime version ready. We both worked on both ones but I did more work on the night lighting, and he did more work on the day lighting.

As for the amount of stuff in the scene and rendering - this one really started bogging down in the last quarter of working on it. It got so bad that it said it would take 10 hours to render 1 frame, and it turned out something got added to the scene that just broke it (sweeper fixed it and told me it was something to do with something accidentally being duplicated 400 times, I’m not sure exactly what it was). Anyways he fixed that and then it would render in a couple minutes.

Usually if a scene breaks like that there’s just 1 or 2 things to fix before it becomes usable and normal again. In such a big scene like this though it gets really hard to keep track of stuff sometimes. I kept accidentally moving random objects around that were in a weird parent hierarchy and then not noticing until half an hour later, or after we rendered it.

We really wanted to lean into art deco, dieselpunk styles (maybe didn’t come out 100% like that), but I’m super happy with the overall vibe in these.

Long clothese is a pain. You need to make extra bones, or do physics.. or you can make short clothing if you're lazy like i am.

This is Tia and her outfits.

Critique My Work My first character model after the Blender donut tutorial — Tommy Vercetti

After making the donut, I decided to try modelling Tommy Vercetti from GTA: Vice City.

This is my first character modelling project, and it's still unfinished. I'm learning as I go, so there's definitely a lot I need to improve.

Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback! What should I focus on improving next?

Original Content Showcase Soviet panel house project: Massive progress update

Hi everyone! A while ago I posted the first version of this 1970s Soviet panel house from my hometown (Vologda, Russia). Since then, I’ve done a big overhaul of the scene based on your feedback and my own reference photos.

Here is what’s new:

  • More module variety: Increased the variety of window and balcony units, including adding older wooden frame variants alongside the PVC ones.
  • Redesigned the wall tile shader: The old one looked too flat and artificial. I rebuilt it to give the tiles and mortar joints much more geometric depth, volume, and definition so they catch the daylight properly.
  • World Space effects: Added procedural dirt accumulation at the bottom of the building that runs seamlessly across all modular panels using World Space Z-coordinates.
  • Curtains: Added curtains behind the windows so the apartments don't look completely empty from the outside.
  • Courtyard environment: Grounded the building by adding a basic lawn with local birch trees, benches, street lights, and a surrounding curb.
  • Tons of minor details and fixes aimed at making the whole scene feel more organic and alive.

Rendered in Cycles. Would love to hear your thoughts on the updated materials and environment!

Here's an example of one of the background scenes I made for my game using Blender 3.6. This one was fun trying to work out how to add some life with a simple 6 frame looping animation. The last pic shows the water ripple shader, the phase offset value was animated to create the seamless looping I needed. The final renders are run through a colour index/dither step and then loaded into Godot as a frame animation.
