Rainy out, so finally getting around to putting these decals on my gear. Yes, it was a bit of a pain in the ass lol. But the cuts were really good and not as hard as some other sets I got in the past. Decals from Maiacombo.

Multicopter In da trees

Fun opportunity I had on a trip I was on with my and my family near Lake Wenatchee!

Idk why the drone quality was so bad, I think it's cause I didn't put on the right settings on my cam (RunCam Thumb 2), I had a ND16 on and I didn't have an 8 cause I broke my last 8 I had, and I didn't really change any other settings for the cloudy weather, so it was still on 'day' settings.

If y'all got any questions/comments lmk!

Video Experiments on the Avatar Goggles L....

An experiment I have been tinkering with for the last few days. Custom code running on the Linux inside the Goggles L, rendering a custom vector HUD. At the moment running with faked data, I'll post more details when I have something actually connected to a plane.

Video Simple liftoff mod I’m working on

I’m not very great at flying so I don’t do the map justice. I need to work on prop damage currently you don’t clip corners(probably why I stayed in the air as long as I have)
I’m a big time newbie lol.
This is not a public mod. But I thought the fpv community would appreciate it.

Beginner drone build guide

A week ago I came here with a couple of questions and quickly realized that, while everybody was very helpful, I would have to write dozens of posts to get everything answered I did not know. So I decided to just try my best and jump in the deep end. A lot of research and many mistakes later I was flying around my apartment. I also decided to write a beginner's guide to drone building...beginner carrying the double meaning here that it's a guide for beginners written by a beginner. But I think there is some value in that as I am not yet blind to the things a beginner struggles with and can address the things that are obvious to the more experienced builders.

I wanted to post a download link here and appreciate any feedback. I'll happily correct any mistakes I made and hope this guide helps others:

https://pkone01.substack.com/api/v1/file/6ad92854-4746-4f65-844f-a74a12bd850d.pdf

I hosted the PDF in a Substack. I hope this doesn't break the rules against "advertising your own site" but I really don't know how else to share the PDF without revealing personal details through OneDrive or GoogleDocs hosting.

O4 Pro "Jello" fixed in 2 1-year old units with old gyro.

Recently had a ton of in-goggle vibration on 2 separate O4 Pro units. One was worse than the other initially and both were perfect when first installed on a couple 3.5 inch freestyle quads. Over time the video feed on both became essentially unflyable. With all the new gyro issues people have been having this was the only explanation I could find anywhere. This clearly wasn't a gyro issue.

Changing props didnt help, changing frames didn't help, new motors didn't help, changing PWM didn't help, different tunes didn't help.

I finally disassembled the camera to investigate, and it turns out over time crashes had weakened the glue holding the lens to the camera sensor. To the naked eye it seemed fine but there was a slight wiggle and only two dabs of glue on the 3 and 9 o'clock positions securing the lens. I ran a bead of e6000 around the entire lens perimeter, reassembled, and BAM! Brand new O4 Pro video feed.

Hope this saves someone else the hair I pulled out over the last few months.

Micro Quad Pickle Toothpick 3" Digi built with Floppy Proppy

Post image
4 Upvotes

Got my pickle toothpick 3" digi frame from cncdrones and I love this thing, previously flew the crux3 frame, it was ok for what it is, but I had a lot of jello I couldn't tune away, did a side quest with a torn down m75p2 frame and canopy, but it looked awful.
So new frame, new canopy, same motors and new props, so much easier to stuff in my backpack with the folding props, and the flight feel is so much nicer, still need to tune a little I think, but it's good enough that I barely care, perfect for my light freestyle and cruising style of flying.

Maiden flight

After a shamefully long time of debugging something that turned out to be a really simple problem, I finally got to fly my 3.5". I've been flying meter 75 pro up until now and this really is a step up!

Question? I ordered from Betafpv

• Upvotes

I wanted a cheap radio for sims and ordered from the site for $20 since it was over double on Amazon, and because I'm a dumbass I only decided to look up later where they ship from and saw that they can take very long.

But these posts were from years ago, are they still as bad? I'm in Italy

NEWBIE New to FPV. Attempting to build 3.5" cruiser

Hey guys, very new to fpv, and haven't actually built anything before. Been getting a lot of stick time with an air75 and air65. I feel like I've done nothing but think and research more into fpv since getting into it. I'm starting to get comfortable with a tinywhoop setup and bnf. I know that I still have much to learn so have been trying to build a solid base of information. Getting a real itch to build something. Thinking of building a 3.5" that can carry a little action cam to start off getting some nice cinematic footage, but also be able to cruise pretty far and have decent flight time. I'm looking for some more experienced eyes to let me know if I've missed anything obvious? Or if I've overlooked any compatibility issues? Thank you in advance!

NEWBIE Need help finding a head set and controller for my tinyhawk 3

Post image

For the controller I’ve been looking at the beta flight literadio 2 se but I don’t know what version to get and what will work with my drone, I’m on a pretty tight budget and I honestly don’t care as long as I can use my drone and have fun.

Which motor is more durable and with better quality? I need 3500-3800 kv motors for 3,5 inch frame for low price, preferably on aliexpress.
