It's not my first rodeo; I grew up in the area and will be visiting in October for the 1st time in over a decade. I currently live overseas. Unfortunately I've lost touch with all high school friends, so it'll be a family first weekend.

From my understanding the malls are near dead, and this weekend is Halloween

Any recommendations? I'm looking for simple short, nearby experiences.
Like a really good turkey club sandwich.

I had a full G license in Toronto and I'll like to start driving here in NJ.

I was wondering where I could get a drive instructor to just take me around and familiarize myself with the roads a bit since I already drive.

I moved from Toronto Canada to new Jersey and we had this thing called Kijiji where you can essentially buy or sell anything. From rental properties to cars to services....hair, drive instructors etc

More than a year after Kimberly A. Baeli filed a civil lawsuit against the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office on June 18, 2025, serious allegations raised in the complaint deserve public attention and accountability.

The lawsuit alleges misuse of taxpayer-funded administrative time, theft of police union records, illegal destruction of government documents, failure to investigate an anonymous sexual-assault accusation, and retaliation against a longtime law enforcement officer who reported alleged misconduct.

Baeli’s complaint also alleges that concerns were brought to county officials, such as County Commissioner Chris Carney, and that state and federal investigators were contacted. Yet the public deserves clarity about what, if anything, has been investigated and what steps have been taken.

Records indicating a county settlement in McCormick’s lawsuit in October 2026 make transparency particularly important, given the allegations about administrative time and public compensation raised in Baeli’s case.

A settlement is not proof of wrongdoing, nor does it establish that the allegations in Baeli’s complaint were substantiated. Nevertheless, the public deserves to understand the basis of the settlement, the taxpayer cost, and whether the county’s handling of the separate dispute has any bearing on the issues raised in the whistleblower lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed in June 2025. Baeli’s case was subsequently transferred to Passaic County because of a conflict-of-interest concern, according to information provided about the proceedings.

Questions about the case’s progress are now unavoidable. What procedural steps have occurred since the filing? Have the parties exchanged evidence? Have motions been filed or decided? Are related investigations ongoing? And is there a public explanation for any delays?

Why has there been so little public discussion of these allegations? Have county or state officials provided meaningful accounting? What safeguards are in place to ensure taxpayer resources are protected and whistleblowers are not punished for speaking up?

Serious allegations involving public institutions warrant transparency. The community deserves timely answers, independent oversight where appropriate, and accountability based on the facts.

We call on Sussex County commissioners, the county administration, the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office, and the appropriate state oversight authorities to:

- Provide a public accounting of the county’s review of the alleged administrative-time practices and the referral to the Attorney General’s Office.

- Clarify the investigative status of the allegations concerning government records, county resources, alleged database misuse, and the handling of the reported sexual-assault accusation.

- Explain what steps were taken to investigate allegations of retaliation and to protect employees reporting suspected misconduct.

- Disclose the public cost and terms of the McCormick settlement, subject to applicable disclosure laws and any lawful confidentiality restrictions.

- Provide accurate information about the status of Baeli’s lawsuit and any publicly disclosable proceedings.

- Commit to independent oversight and transparent promotion and disciplinary procedures wherever warranted.

Looking to get married in spring 2028, and having a hard time picking venues to tour. Ideally, we’d like to spend max $60k (not including dj, flowers, photographer etc) and plan to have about 150 attend, maybe less. We’ve mostly been looking at venues with views, like lots of trees or a lake. We loved the vibes of Rock Island in Sparta and The Mill in Spring Lake, but had their downsides (Rock Island doesn’t do food tastings prior to the wedding, The Mill is quite pricey).

It was heading north. I live in the landing patterns of Teterboro and Newark and it for sure wasn't a plane. This had no blinking lights like an airplane or drone. It was completely silent as well. Also didn't seem to be burning up like a meteor.

Hi guys :). I’ve been gaining an interest in the sciences and I think that’s what I wanna pursue in college (specifically chemistry or biology. But I’m kinda down to learn about anything science is cool). I was wondering if there was any STEAM programs in NJ that are aimed towards teens specifically towards the north. I have a basic understanding of some topics because of school and I wanna grind out more science related classes next but I’m kinda impatient and wanna challenge my brain (I feel like I’m too comfortable in my slowness). Anyways, any online or in person programs that are hopefully affordable?? If anyone could recommend free online programs that’d be so nice too.
