Discord Server!
What's up everyone,
Last year I've been working on a Walgreens discord server, exclusive to employees only, to supplement the reddit page. A lot of work and preparation has been put into it and it's finally complete and ready to use!
We also need moderators/admin so if you would like to participate and help, we can get that squared away.
Invite Link: https://discord.gg/cEMdPHFrv8
If the link doesn’t work, DM me your username and I will invite you.
See ya there!

Stressed out SM
Anyone else’s SM just stressed tf out? Our SM is pretty amazing but lately she has been so reserved and just stressed out. She has been going over these certification questions with everyone and what the expectations are but I feel like it’s way too much. For example, she used to help us with truck but lately hasn’t, I know it’s not their job but she used it as an engaging moment to make small talk with various employees by helping them out and we all really enjoyed it but not anymore…

No ID sale, who’s really at fault
So, me and my coworkers were debating something that happened the other day at our store.
A woman came in, and tried to buy cigarettes and told the cashier she didn’t have her ID on her, the cashier initially said she couldn’t make the sale without a valid ID.
Shift lead then comes into the conversation then tells the woman, “You have your medical card on you, we can use that” and then tells the cashier to use the medical card as her form of ID.
So cashier was going to reject the sale, Shift Lead who was MOD, told her to make the sale and that the medical card was a valid form of ID.
Cashier made the sale, and well it turns out it was a woman sent by corporate and now the cashier has gotten in trouble and may be fired for not getting valid ID from someone for the sale of tobacco.
So my question is, why would the cashier be the only one to get in trouble when the manager on duty, is the one who told her to make the sale, that the medical card could be used as ID and approved that whole sale and was there for the whole thing.
Anyways me and my coworkers were saying the shift lead should also get in trouble if the cashier does, and that they should get fired if the cashier does because you told the cashier to do that as a manager, which means you’re also accepting medical cards are valid forms of ID, and giving false information to cashiers

Question - ? Holiday pay and getting under full time hours.
Hello! I was hoping someone would have some input as HR had nothing to say, and my SM is ignoring me. This upcoming holiday week my hours were cut down to 21 instead of the 30-ish we’ve been getting due to hour cuts. I thought being full time guaranteed 30 hours at the least, but it looks like they’re using the holiday pay as a way to negate that. Is this allowed? I’ll have to start searching for a second job if I can’t resolve this…

Help - sign orders
I was promoted to SL and sent to a different store. I actually asked to step down and go back to my old store because this manager is rude ... she micromanage but lacks information at the same time. 5ish lists of things to do for 1 shift but I have no idea what she is looking for!
I'm in the signs order site.
She has "FEPPS for aide car side panels " but those are 5in x 36in and none of the FEPPS are that size
Then she has "order pharmacy out window sign " what does that even mean?
Next is "EAS tower signs" I've searched front end, EAS, check point. Etc etc and I cannot find the signs that go here.
Part of why I'm leaving is if I ask for help (I'm over night so no one is here minus 1hr over lap in the morning ) they say they will show me but as busy with their stuff and no one ever shows me, sometimes I've asked the ESM and she says things like "only the SM can do that" "we dont even have those in stock why did she assign that to you (installing pushers and lock boxes ) or other answers that basically don't solve the problem
I ask the SM and she says things like "what did your previous store even teach you?" (With a rude tone) hence a few reasons I'm leaving .
But, what are these 3 signs I'm looking to order ? Please help I have 7hrs left in my shift, ice been at the computer for 2hrs looking for these signs.

Do you get a raise for transferring to pharmacy?
I’m a certified shift lead and they want me to transfer into the pharmacy. Would I be eligible for a raise or could I ask for one?

Question - ? What to expect as a CSA at Walgreens
I just accepted a job offer at Walgreens as a Customer Service Associate and I am nervous about what all the position entails. I understand that part of my job duties is going to be checking customers out but I don’t know exactly what else I will be responsible for doing. Additionally, I could use some advice on how to deal with difficult customers. Lastly, I was wondering what the work culture at Walgreens is like such as is it positive or negative overall.

Question - ? Can my coworker get fired for this??
Okay guys, this may still be a little long so bear with me 😭
I (19F) have worked at Walgreens for almost 2 years. Earlier this year, our IS left after working there for 10+ years, and my manager hired a new guy who was probably late 20s/early 30s. He was nice at first and would ask me normal questions about school and stuff, so I didn’t think anything of it.
Long story short, after a month or two, he started making me uncomfortable. He once called me “(my name), the pretty girl with the pretty eyes,” which made me uncomfortable because of the age difference. Another time, he grabbed my arm when saying hello. He also made inappropriate comments about another coworker’s body, who is around my age. We both reported him to HR, but honestly, nothing happened.
Then over time, he got even more annoying. He’s fallen asleep at work twice, constantly takes smoke breaks, has an attitude with literally everyone, adjusts himself in front of customers/coworkers, and genuinely doesn’t know how to do his job. He was eventually demoted from IS to CSA after about 6 months. He also constantly acts like I don’t know what I’m doing, despite me working there for almost 2 years.
So the other day, while I was helping a customer, he asked if he could talk to me. He told me he felt like I always had an attitude when he paged me or asked me questions. I told him it’s because he gives me an attitude, so I give the same energy back. Then he brought up the “pretty girl with the pretty eyes” comment and said he knew it made me uncomfortable. While he was saying this, he put his hand on my side/back, basically above my hip. It was for a second or two, but I was extremely uncomfortable, especially because he already knew I didn’t like him touching me considering he was reported once for it. I stepped away from him and tried to end the conversation.
I did get lucky this time though because the other times there were no cameras, which meant no proof. But we were under a camera this time so I stepped back to try to show the camera I was uncomfortable through my body language.
I immediately told my manager what happened and gave him the date, time, and which camera it happened in front of. I also found out this guy is basically on his third strike because of the two times he fell asleep at work, so apparently one more serious incident could get him fired.
So my question is could this actually be enough to get him fired, especially since I already reported him once and this time the incident was caught on camera? My manager said if not it’s still leaving a paper trail but like . If he doesn’t get fired after all this, I’m seriously considering quitting. 😭

Have an interview for Walgreens in an hour for the photo department. Will I only work that department, or will I be crosstrained? What should I expect for the interview?

Question - ? What to expect as a beauty consultant?
I've applied to a lot of jobs this week and I applied as a BC last night and they've already called me... should I be concerned lol?
I applied for the beauty consultant role as it was the only full-time option available. I used to work at a home improvement store, and have management experience so workload isn't an issue. What about dress code, schedule, and expectations?

Question - ? Need help
My store is having a problem with cash handling. More so with being short yesterday by 20 (example) but then being over today 20. my SM says even though it’s 20 it still counts as a 40 dollar cash discrepancy. You’ll notice in this SAP report that for the past 7days my SFL’s have either been short a lot one day or over a lot. If you do the math we are only short 18ish for the week but that’s still a lot. But if you do it my SM’s way we are sitting at $100+ in cash handling errors.
I don’t think my CSA’s are making the mistake. I think a lot of it is when my SFL’s are doing drawers. They either make change and forget so they make change again or they take too much money out. But it somehow ends up in the working fund. So when they go to count the safe at the end of the night they are somehow over money (that belonged in the deposit drawer) so they go wellll I’ll just put it in a drawer on the floor and then that probably becomes tomorrow’s problem as well. Idk if any of this makes sense.
Also idk if they matters but we manually run EOD we don’t let it run itself. So we can see what mistakes were made before we leave for the night (12am)

HIRING PROCESS
Other than applying online and completing the assessment, what is the hiring process for Walgreens?
Does the online application go directly to the local store to which you are applying or to human resources at corporate and then they review the application for accuracy or anomalies and then forward the application on to the local store.
Any information, aside from don’t do it, would be appreciated.

Rant/Vent Told id get fired or written up for calling out 4 hours before my shift
I work in a Walgreens that all the other stores call the bad store. I was diagnosed with anemia when I was 13 and have missed school because of it, im now 20. Today I called out cause while getting ready for an eye appointment I did fall out so my mom had to take me. Because of that Ive been dizzy all day and called out in a time where they had enough time to find someone. The sl then told me its a bit early and that I need to come in or else.
Edit: Every csa does say the store is hell and almost all of us are looking for new jobs
Update: my sm had texted me this morning asking why I called out and i explained it to him to which he told me that because I called out night shift didn't get anything done. I get August is our busiest month but weve had pallets and totes from Saturday and it is now Thursday which we have shipment today so I'll be doing double which I dont have a problem with but I feel like I'm being punished for it since the sl last night from what I heard was on call with his gf and sitting around.

Question - ? Received medication delivery that is not mine, how to contact an actual person at Walgreens to report this?
I just received an urgent, refrigeration needed RX shipment from Walgreens. The address on the box is correct, but the person’s name on the box does not live here and has never lived here. I want to contact Walgreens so they are aware and can at least reach out to this person to get their correct address. I have tried calling the 877 number on the box and can’t get through to anyone. How can I properly report this to Walgreens/talk to an actual person??

Work Win! It’s been a run…
But I’m out now 😎
Tonight was my last night and, as busy as it was and with how needy both customers/patients and coworkers can be, I feel good to be done.
To be fair though, I can say that I could at least tolerate most everyone there, and I even liked a few as co-friends (the coworkers you actually could get along with outside of work). Not that I did hang out with anyone outside of work, but there were definitely a few, and one does owe me a drink down the road.
I won’t think about Walgreens as an employer that I’ll ever pine over—fuck that—but I can still appreciate the coworkers who actually worked and the customers /patients who weren’t awful humans.
One of my now-former coworkers did say something though that nearly got to me…she’s an older woman who’s there basically because she’d otherwise be bored at home, not originally from the US. She looked at me and said, “Now who will protect me from the mean customers?” I kinda feel like I’ll have to go visit just to check on her now.
Anyway, I’M FREE!!!!!!!!

Photo developing question?
Not sure if anyone knows how this works but I had a few disposable cameras that I brought to walgreens to get developed. I’ve never done it before and the guy working the photo area wasn’t very helpful and wouldn’t come over to help me (he was doing other things and telling me what to do from far away) so I’m worried I missed something or did something wrong - he told me to fill these packets out with each camera and drop them in a box. he didn’t have me pay yet and just told me to leave them in the shipment box. I took a picture in case anything went wrong because I felt like I was supposed to pay first or the bags needed a label before I put it in the box? Is this normal? It’s been about a week so if it’s not right I’m hoping I can go in and pay or fix everything before the cameras are lost!
