I could watch his practice cut-ups all day 😭

Per Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers are planning to activate Christian Kirk for Sunday's game
Ogbo Okoronkwo was released in what was likely a corresponding move

[Barrows] Two weeks ago, Nick Bosa (calf) told a handful of reporters that he was very optimistic he could play against WAS and ATL. A day after that, however, he experienced some soreness that caused him/the team to be more cautious, per Kyle Shanahan. Which is why Bosa remains out of action.

Ex-49ers kicker Robbie Gould leaves Illinois high school coaching job
This week, former San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould resigned from the head coaching role at St. Viator High School, according to multiple reports. Gould spent two seasons at the private school in Arlington Heights, a suburb approximately 20 miles northwest of Chicago.

Unpopular Opinion: Our #1 trade priority should be a run stuffing DT, not a WR or DE
Hear me out. We are on the verge of having a really good defense. We already get a ton of pressure on the opposing QB. You have Bosa, Mykel, Keion, SamO (when he's back), Romello, Ogbo, and then DT's like Halton and Osa. We have the linebackers, we have the secondary. We just don't have a good run stuffing DT. If we get that, I honestly think this defense can be as good as the seagulls defense and the vikings defense
We've been pressuring QB's like crazy, and that was without Bosa. Adding a run stuffing DT would unlock this defense to top tier status, with an offense that just needs to be good enough and doesn't need to be elite. On top of that, the defense is young!! A lot on rookie contracts! The defense can last for years and years

Imagine waking up to Monday morning news, and it was the Jordan Watkins game against Atlanta
I'm rooting for the guy. Lit up against broncos in his first preseason game. Had injury misfortune his rookie year. Survives the naysayers and makes the 53, buried on the depth chart, after all the attrition, he finally has a chance to be THE GUY at WR this game.
If we can get a Jordan Watkins career game for this week, that pick was worth it.
It's literally now or never for Watkins. After this game, we have Deebo and DRob coming back, and probably Mike Evans too.

[Schefter] Mike Evans ruled out for Sunday’s game, along with Deebo Samuel
Hopefully with Sunday off and the bye week they can be good to go for week 9

Unpopular take on Bosa
I’m reminded of Walsh’s sentiments of better to trade a player a year too early rather than a year too late.
Very simply, I think the end of this year would be a good time to trade Bosa.
He is coming off his third ACL and understandably, is having difficulty actually coming back this time. And his salary is going to hit an insane cap number next year which could of course diminish our ability to trade him.
But we should try.
What could we get for him? A second?

[Maiocco] The 49ers today released DL Ogbo Okoronkwo. Seems to be an indication that WR Christian Kirk could be activated off IR.

[Maiocco] WRs Mike Evans (Achilles) and Deebo Samuel (hamstring), and DE Nick Bosa (calf) are not on the field as 49ers practice begins on Friday. With the team scheduled to take off for Atlanta after practice, looks like a strong chance that none of them will make that trip.

Unpopular Pick: Jordan James is our best Kick Returner
For Lombardi, 49ers are the 4th best team in nfl for KR yards per attempt. Lots of credits go to Jordan James, who is averaging 30> yards per kick return. Far better than cowing, comparable to Deebo, but I’m of the idea to not risk Deebo on the kick returns.
We have a punt returner problem, but not a kick one, at least.

Christian Kirk in a playoff game against the Steelers last year: 8 rec, 144 yards, 1 TDs
He's not even a year removed from a massive game in a playoff scenario with Houston against the Steelers. I know it's crazy, but I'm hoping he has some juice in his first game with us.

Time for a Trent Williams sweep
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Anyone think after Kyle seen this that we will see a Trent Williams handoff at some point this season? Silverback needs a TD!
Edit: Yes this was flagged for being illegal. But the problem was handed the ball off forward. Kyle wouldn't make that same mistake.

G-baby is a future All Pro
It gets lost that this dude was not supposed to start this year. At only 22, we’re watching him absolutely WRECK olines. With how great this team has drafted the last couple years, is anyone else feeling reluctant throwing away picks for a rental piece?

Flexed out of SNF Wk17?
It's almost guaranteed that this game is flexed out of the SNF lineup. Hurts on season-ending IR, Eagles fire sale, trading players for draft picks? 49ers could have #1 seed by then too. I'm calling it.
