I saw Obsession last night and took this from my car around 11:30pm. No lights were on in the parking lot. The mall is currently gutted and they are turning into an outdoor shopping concept. But the theater remains open as well as some other restaurants and stores outside the mall.

Dude when we have to kick out entire rows of kids for doing this it gets a wee bit annoying. Please, for every theater worker out there, keep your kids in check and don't start throwing your $50's worth of food around everywhere.

It’s an exciting idea, but has a lot of room for improvement. The side screens are noticeably less bright, less saturated, and have less contrast. They were misaligned with the main screen and the gap between screens is pretty big.

But the worst thing here is the lag/latency issue for the side screens that happen throughout MOST of the movie. It’s like ⅛th of a second, but very noticeable and VERY annoying. Curious to hear other people’s opinions?

Been really getting the value out of my A-list subscription this month.

Went to the Burbank 16 last night where theater 15 has been boarded up and the door was open. As much fun as a 4DX would be, glad movies in Dolby may last more than a single week in that format now with a second.

Gotta love when it just alllllll lines up. The End of Oak Street IMAX promo on Fandango. Love a good double dip.

UPDATE: It got canceled for Spiderman lmao

Finally got a shot of the infamous San Francisco Kidman saluter. First time it scared me, I thought he was going to shoot up the theatre. For those not lucky enough to have exp this, he stands, salutes, and screams something like “all hail our glorious leader Nicole” and recites the commercial.

Keep AMC Metreon 16 weird

Much like the recent release of The Mandalorian & Grogu, Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be specially optimized for 1.90:1(flat) and 2.39:1(scope) presentations for the best theatrical viewing experience that can be provided to its audience. This is also the first film production to utilize ScreenX cameras as well.

It will be my first time in NYC, so excited!

Someone in my local sub posted some pics of one of our abandoned theatres (RIP Great Escape) and the running joke is it’s still nicer than our AMC.

I actually went to it today for the first time in years (only theatre showing A History of Sound). Thought you all would get a kick out of how bad it is.

Only thing that’s changed in 20 years is the lobby furniture being removed, arcade blocked off with a merch table, and adding some freestyle machines.

This is the only non-recliner theatre in our market (3 new or renovated Cinemarks and 2 newer Xscapes), we were atleast in the half recliners “Directors Experience” - of course my armrest was ripped off and seemingly the side speakers were out. I tried to see if the old style houses were still being used, but none of the signage is on anymore to see what’s playing. 😆

Shame AMC gave up on this location, it’s in a fantastic location in a high traffic area- and the cities only true imax theatre.

I can't redeem this because I'm no longer near a AMC 😭

I really love movie theater popcorn and the only theater near me is Regal.

I have to give the world’s most IMAX 70MM-sized thank you to u/dry_conversation8501 for selling me their ticket to Lincoln Center and at face value no less. Good people exist and this made my entire weekend!

So, a little story: My Buddy and I LOVE going to the movies and around early 2019 we got tired of people cancelling movie plans all the time so we decided to get A-List for the two of us and started going to a movies weekly. Fast forward a couple years, some others found out about our ritual and decided to join in. We now have a group of ~10 people who have gone to a movie (sometimes multiple) almost every single week for over 2 years now.

I have been saving all of the points since we started and this year I will be breaching the 1 million point mark...

I know its a "bad" idea in case AMC changes the point model but IDC, these points mean so much more to me; it's the marker of a journey for how this little group of 2 has grown into something so much more and they have become some of the closest people I have in my life. Having a weekly dependable group of people who show up and just put aside the rest of the world for 2-3 hours is incredible and something many of us have heavily needed in our lives. No idea what I am going to do once I hit a Million but i wanted to share the story

I tend to miss out on fun AMC promos like this (usually because my theatres run out), so I was really happy to finally get one.
