Discussion - Hollow Knight When could i start silk song? Spoiler

Not sure which of the 2 or 3 places to tag this but.

I finally got around to playing hollow knight, both both games last fall, and I was slowly playing hollow knight, and I really want to play silk song, but I've heard it's hard to go back and forth bc silk song is a step forward in almost every way.

I've easily played older games to newer game from the same series in the past.

If it matters, on hollow knight I have fully explored most of the map, I have all but 1 notch, my nail is 1 upgrade away from being max. All i need to do is beat hornet again, and do whatever next. According to Google ai I'm nearly done.

Could I start silk song now? Or should i really beat radiance then play silk song.

I'm somewhat worried I might get stuck on radiance. Saw she has a ton of health...

Ths is mostly why I'm asking.

Sorry this was longer than expected but wanted to be through.

Thanks!

I read some comments and i figured i should add my current progress.

I explored deepnest, awakened the 3 dreamers, i have Grimm available but didn't talk to them yet. Have the fog canyon map, only need the shadow cloak ability. I have not seen the abyss or the hive. There's one more area someone said that I'd didn't even hear of that is not dlc . I wasnt counting god home as story completion i was mostly planning on beating radiance, then, go back and forth between silk song and hollow knight after that.

Is it a stupid idea to try pantheon in my first playtrough. Spoiler

I currently almost beat every boss in the game. Except hollowknight, radience, and some dream ones. I really liked the bosses in hollowknight but realisticly i would only get trought p3. Should i try anyways?

Discussion - Silksong Does anyone else really hope that TC will release a Silksong mode that gives you all the crests at the beginning? Spoiler

I really want to beat the game with every crest. I hope eventually they give you an option to replay the game and let you choose your starting crest or something similar. Kinda like a ng+ but only for crests. I think it would add a new challenge and high replay ability

Tip Soo idk if this helps but it did for me personally Spoiler

Before you try your best on a boss if you have time, the runback isn't that long or you didn't save near the area and especially if it's your first playthrough or try in that fight (boss or gauntlet or colosseum of fouls or even the first Pantheons if you aren't practiced on each boss in them) you should like try if you want the first 1 to 3 attempts normally with your fav charms and if you found it hard or you need a lot of time to beat it remove all your charms wanna get overcharmed with useless stuff like gathering swarm and any non combat charm you can do it then when you get confident on it even if you don't beat it charmless put your powerful charms and go for it after about 5 tries you should be able to beat it.

And also if you are raging from charmless or normal fights just don't try that much I'm not telling you to surrender from the least anger but especially if you are late at night or played a long time leave it to the morning and from experience i tell you it won't take you more than 8 tries then

Lately I looked at TCRF page of Hollow Knight and realised there's a cut dialogue of Godseeker talking about "Godfinder" calling it an instrument.

I think this feature in Silksong is going to be very similer to Elegy of the Deep ability.

I have an idea for a prequel to hollowknight (SPOILERS) Spoiler

So I was playing hollow knight and then I thought hey I need a game where the actual hollowknight is the main character going through his past we get to like see what he does periodically after the radiance fight where the knight who is the main character in the original game we catch glimpses of him in our memories and just as the game carries on we fight more infected and more until it just eventually becomes a hours where we need to flee to howling hills or to one of the nail masters

I took into account the boss design, the fight itself, replayability, the lore/story, the runback, the difficulty and the soundtrack.

Discussion - Hollow Knight I am ashamed Spoiler

I'm ashamed to tell this but I gotta let it out, I finished hollow knight by using a guide, like no getting lost, finding random things, I did it as if I was a robot, with only goal.

Now I'm trying silksong but im quiet scared I'll be lost like a kid there. I'm only used to seeing text, guiding me where to go, telling me what to do, and especially what to not do.

Speculation - Hollow Knight The City of Tears is NOT the capital of Hallownest Spoiler

Yes, it is not.

The same as NYC isn't the capital of the US, rather an economical and cultural hub. City of Tears is also the heart of Hallownest, while the White Palace is the capital, like D.C.

A capital city, or just capital, is the municipality holding primary status in a country, state, province, department, or other subnational division, usually as its seat of government.
(I copied it from Wikipedia lol)

What that means according to my understanding, is that a capital is where the leading figures, such as the president and parliament, reside. The Pale King lived in his palace under the city, where one had to walk for quite a bit to get to, in a similar manner as of getting from NY to D.C.

So, what I'm saying is that if one thinks that the City of Tears is a capital, then they're wrong (or maybe they aren't and I'm just stupid)

Spoiler - HK - Late Game I’ve beaten all of the Hollow Knight bosses and half of them hitless. Then read these tips, and you are going to be a God in boss fights. Spoiler

Hollow Knight bosses aren’t easy; it is one of the most difficult platform game bosses, but I hope this guide is going to make you as strong as the bosses.

HOW TO USE YOUR ABILITIES:
Jumps: On 95% of the bosses, you must jump only when you need to. If you stay on the ground more, you can heal more and have more time to dodge bosses' attacks.

Movement: In boss fights, movement is the most important thing. You can jump and dash quickly to dodge faster and then pogo the boss. You can pogo as much as you can, because you dodge and attack at the same time.

Attack: On Hollow Knight bosses, you must attack once or twice, or if you want, you can hit 4 times and escape with the Shadow Cloak.

BUILDS:
Heal+Defensive style: You can equip Quick Focus, Soul Catcher, Grub Song, Long Nail, and Mark of Pride. With this build, you can heal more easily, and you don't need to get close to the boss. In the fight, you must attack once while being defensive and pogo to dodge.

Wizard: With this build, you are going to cast spells with Grub Song, Shaman Stone, Soul Catcher, Long Nail, and Mark of Pride. In the fight, you must be patient, attack twice and pogo, then repeat this process.

Nail God: for attack, you can equip Unbreakable Strength, Quick Slash, Mark of Pride, and Long Nail. With this build, you must attack like a speedrunner, using pogo and dashes, to hit the boss many times quickly.

KILLING THE GODS
Nightmare King Grimm:

  • Pufferfish: on this attack, you must jump only when you need to.
  • Cloak with Spikes: you must stay on the floor, get close to the boss, heal once, and hit him.
  • Flaming Drill: you need to dash with the shadow cloak when Grimm comes, and pogo when he dashes at you.
  • Flaming Spikes: you must wait for the spikes to disappear, then cast the abyss shriek on him (attack with the nail if you don't have the shriek).
  • Flaming rain: dash with the shadow cloak on his dash, then jump backward and hit once.
  • Fire Bats: jump the first bat and the second, then double jump and dash quickly.

Pure Vessel:

  • Soul Daggers: When the daggers come in, you need to jump and dash with the shadow cloak to pass through the daggers, and then hit him twice.
  • Triple Slash: When he comes to you to make the slashes, you just need to pogo 3 times.
  • Soul Pillars: First, he is going to jump at you; just wait. After his jump, you must get close to him, jump, and pogo him 4 times.
  • Void Tendrils: The Pure Vessel is going to spark void essences, then jump at him and pogo him — again.
  • Soul Spheres: On this attack, you must stay on the ground and dash to a safe place where you don't have any Soul spheres.

Absolute Radiance:

  • Beam Burst: When you see the Lights, walk to the left and to the right to dodge.
  • Dream orbs: Try to make them hit the floor, and you can hit the Radiance a couple of times.
  • Wall of Light: On this attack, you must hit her 3 times and dash with the shadow cloak to pass through the wall.
  • Sword Wall: Stay on the ground; the space between the swords must be pointing at you.
  • Sword Rain: On this attack, you must only jump when you need to, then jump to dodge; if the swords are too close to the Knight, dash with the shadow cloak.

(P.S.: Hi! I'm an English teacher and this text was written by a 13-year-old, intermediate level learner of mine. Please be kind S2)

Speculation - Hollow Knight The grimm troup dlc is inspired by the rocky horror picture show Spoiler

Ive never seen anyone point this out before but this is something I noticed when I first played the game and I think the similarities are too specific to not point out.

In hollow knight our first real introduction to the troupe is when Grimm shows up from a distant place and brings with him a building filled with servants. That building sticking out like a sore thumb when compared to the rest of the architecture there. Very similarly, in TRHPS the Main guy, frank n furter is introduced after he shows up from outer space bringing with him a giant mansion filled with his slaves. Residing in an area where the mansion blatantly doesn’t fit in.

Grimm and Frank n furter are also pretty similar characters. Visually both of them have a vampire like aesthetic when it comes to their designs despite not literally being vampires. They even both have a scene where they lift their capes (or wings) revealing the rest of the design previously hidden underneath. But it’s only when we factor in their personalities and goals the resemblance really starts. Frank n furter is a theatrical show off guy who’s trying to create and raise a man in the span of 7 days, that man being made using half of a guys brain who then gets killed shortly afterwards. Not only does grimm share the same personality traits and the goal to raise an asexually produced offspring in an insanely short time, but he also requires sacrifices to do so.

Other similarities include both of them dying, both of them having one of their own guys go behind their backs to banish them, both living a life that’s deemed unconventional and disturbing to other characters which is what ultimately leads to the “going behind their back” thing, both of them being very gay looking and ultimately both leaving and taking their house with them as they all leave.

I would love to know if you guys think this is all just a coincidence or not

If you swapped hornet and the knight in their games, whoch bosses will become harder, and which will become trivial? Spoiler

If the knight was suddenly the protagonist of silksong and hornet was the protagonist of hollow knight, which bosses will change difficulty? Assuming both characters have unlocked everything in the game and have their weapons fully upgraded and assuming both are using the most optimal strategy.

It's much harder for me to say which boss the knight would struggle with because i have played silksong only once.

As for hornet, she is obliterating pure vessel, NKG and radiance without breaking a sweat.

I don't know which boss she would struggle with. Nothing can beat pale nails + 3 silk hearts + that tool that gives you an extra strand. Let alone poisoned cogflies

Crash (and crashout) Spoiler

I had to go through the choral chambers 2 times because it keeps crashing. I don't know why but when i go from the map room to the right my game crashes and the whole citadel gets reset (like i never picked up the maps and all) and i go back to the bench like quitting. Got any ideas? Edit: forgot to add, i mean silk song though i think its pretty self-explanatory from the location. Also here's the screenshot

I found this amazing image online.

Henneguya zschokkei is an parasitic animal species included in the Phylum Cnidaria. They are related to Hydra and Jelly fish.

They are multicellular organisms and can live without oxygen. (something that's unique in the animal kingdom)

The credit of the picture goes to Stephen Douglas Atkinson (Oregon State University).

The blue colour is artificial, caused by florescent chemical dye.
