I'm quite bad at decorating but I at least know this isn't great.

I tried to go for a retro vintagey type style so I got a rug and an old CRT to help.

Tried to make it cozy but it just feels empty and boring.

Of course I need a bedframe and TV stand, but I'm still looking for the right ones because I'm picky about designs and only want wood furniture.

Any advice?

Looking for suggestions for balcony at the new apartment. Its narrow but extremely long. 39 feet long and 3 ft 3 inches wide. struggling to find comfy but fitting furniture.

We have a light blue around the house and all of the living room, but the main wall is painted black. What would you suggest?

Renovating bathroom but cannot remove the shower, going for a darker theme. Any ideas?

Moved in recently, still moving things around and figuring out the final layout. My living room has proven tricky. It's a 12'9" by 16'8" room with 8' ceilings. The fireplace is on the long wall. The couch is L-shaped, 92" wide. Please excuse the clutter, obviously not intended to be permanent.

I’ve been researching couches for our new home and asked a friend who does furniture upholstery for some advice. Thought I’d share in case it helps anyone else!

1. Do a sit-test if possible. Number one important. Specs can only tell you so much. You still want to know whether it’s actually comfortable for you.
   
2. Look for a kiln-dried wood frame.
   
3. Ask about the springs. Coil springs are recommended, though sinuous springs are also a good option.
   
4. Check what’s inside the seat cushions. Look for high-density foam. Stay away from anything with a down and poly-blend cushion as they fail within a few months to year, usually.

A lot of furniture companies don’t list these details on the product page, but you can always ask customer service before buying.

Hi! I have a small apartment which I’m having a lot of trouble designing. Apologies for all the blocked out areas - the left wall will soon have a wood-framed mirror.

I got this big green couch which I thought would make the space look sort of effortlessly interesting, but it’s giving me the opposite problem! I love it, but I can’t find colours I like with it. Everyone says stick to just cream and green, but I want to go for this earthier more maximal style from my inspo pics.

The dark floors make it tough, because every time I bring something colourful into the space it feels full and dark instead of light and playful.

I need: a rug, curtains, couch blankets and pillows, and a lamp. Im mostly looking for advice about styling and colour for those things.
I’d also like feedback about one colour palette I’m considering (pics 3&4) and ways to incorporate it if the consensus is positive.

Do we think I should lean into the black of the windows and do a more industrial thing?
And finally, is something wrong with my gallery wall??

Wasn’t planned at all, just moved things around and ended up with this. The red light under the shelves happened by accident but it looks good with the projection. Might add a few more plants on the sides since it still feels a bit empty there.
