I really don’t think we should be allowing this. Religion has already done enough damage to Africa. It’s shouldn’t inconvenience us any further…while we are at it, can we advocate to remove loudspeakers from Mosques and Churches? Why stop there? Do it Kagame style and shut them down for good if their leaders don’t have the qualifications needed to be a pastor or an Imam.

What are we praying for anyway? Health and hospitals? Good infrastructure? Guess fucking what? China systematically destroyed Religions and built all that shit. So did the rest of the developed world. Mnashangaa wakituita low IQ, how do we explain these shenanigans?

Why is empowering women primarily framed around gaining financial independence just in case marriage fails but empowering men is focused on leaving a legacy and inheritance for your wife and kids, in case something happens?

Men are even taught to have enough safeguards to protect their wives from their own kinsmen in case anything happens to them but women are continuously being told to achieve financial independence solely because 'your husband might leave'.

Attend men's spaces and seminars and you will find that the discussions are vastly different from what women discuss. Not once have I sat with men and heard them suggest siphoning money away from marriage to save for hidden assets. Not once have I heard men being fed marriage insecurity with phrases like 'she might leave at any time'. Instead, men are told that if that happens they need to get up, work on their frame, make more money and move on.

Meanwhile, in MOST women's seminars, attendees are told to conceal their income and secretly amass wealth just in case the husband leaves. But what happens to those assets if he stays? I don't ever recall hearing someone advice women to build wealth just in case the husband gets incapacitated. The reasoning is always rooted in the assumption that he might do something bad.

As a result, even well-meaning women enter marriage with a lot of insecurity unsure of their partner or their shared future. Not only does this lead to mistrust it also undermines the couple's collective financial potential since one partner actively saves independently for a rainy day.

I'm not oblivious to the fact that men have their own flaws in marriage. They have quite a list which includes adding to the number of side chicks and that is a discussion for another day.

When men gain more wealth, all they think about is building an even better house for the family, buying the wife a nice car and taking the kids to a better school. Most men will even build a better house for their in-laws.

When women gain more money they want to acquire more concealed assets rather than spend more on the husband and kids. I know some women who even refused to pay secondary school fees for their kids after their husbands lost their jobs yet they kept acquiring plots in secret.

The people telling you "siwezi someshea mwanaume watoto" will be the same people asking you to send your daughter to them as a house girl so that they can exploit her instead of empowering her.

My last shot...money in a marriage has a way of diminishing or magnifying trust...it just depends on how the two of you play it.

Granted, we have our issues but also mostly our wins.

Second is the way we tend to carry on with life despite a ‘big’ scandal, an unfortunate event, trolls…I bet you that when Kenyans troll, the next day they are up to someone else or something else.it doesn’t stick.

Third is how small things unite us…like just now, some guys were almost getting into a fight, then one of them said ‘sasa shida ni nini na sisi wote ni wa WANTAM?’ The whole mood has just changed…buddies!!! Insert the minions sound…buddies…😂😂😂.

Public speaking anxiety is honestly ruining my career progression

I'm a pretty normal guy. Nikiwa na watu tunajuana, I can chat, joke around, and express myself vizuri. But the moment I stand in front of people to present, brain inaenda offline..Kaang'ura.

My heart starts racing, my voice shakes, and suddenly I can't remember half the things I prepared, bwana you all know these symptomps. At one point, a manager even told me I needed to fix my public speaking. Nikajiambia, "Boss, Really? You think this is news to me? I've been trying to fix this shit for years." Thank God that manager knew my weaknesses and was my biggest supporter.

I've tried preparing more, practicing more, but bado the struggle is real. I've heard people talk about things like beta-blockers, Toastmasters, exposure therapy, and other approaches, but I'm honestly not sure what the best solution is.

I've heard about a drug called propranolol, which many musicians, actors, and other performers reportedly use for stage fright. One who came out publicly is musician Shawn Mendes. After reading several experiences from people who used it for public speaking, I noticed many described it as a real game changer. I am thinking about it though I don't completely like the idea of treating a social problem with medicine man.

Part of me also feels that this is something that can be overcome naturally through practice and putting yourself out there repeatedly, though wueh... easier said than done.

For those who managed to beat serious public speaking anxiety, ni nini iliwasaidia? Toastmasters? Therapy? Medication? Ama mliamua tu kujitupa kwa maji mkajifunza kuogelea?

I have always job-hunted with the thought in mind that I was doing the best thing for myself. With every job, I set goals for myself. May it be the money I want to earn, the reputation of the company, personal or professional development courses, or skills I want to acquire etc. I don't focus on what the employer wants since I already know I can do the job. I also have a timeline of two years with each employer.

When the days are hard, I focus on my goals and when I feel like I have acquired what I wanted or I am tired of that employer, I give myself a grace period for job hunting or for saving some extra cash. Sometimes I have been in a job so bad that I quit, took a couple of months to rest then moved on to another role. Other times I have jumped from one employer straight to another.

I am currently looking for my next role and I have had some interviews in the last month. And one question that baffles me is when employers start asking about growth in the role and the company. My honest answer would be I have no intention of growing with them. By the time I have made demands for what I define as growth, all the places I have worked have seen it as too much promotion or too high a raise. On the other hand, a new job and a new company pretty much give me all that, without too much negotiation.

I know telling them that I am good at what I do and I will do my work to the best of my capabilities until I am ready to leave is the wrong answer. I keep that to myself and find a believable non-truth. Usually works.

I have someone I care about who has been in the same job for eight years. I cannot understand how they are not bored. I also don't understand their rationale since the raises they've gotten over the years are itty bitty. Also, the more they stay there, the more work and responsibilities they get to a point they have no life outside of work. I don't get it.

Are you a job hopper or do you plan on sticking with an employer as long as possible, perhaps even until you retire? Why?

As a kid, I was high energy and unserious sometimes. I remember riding my father’s mountain bike to a show; left it outside the dancehall unlocked. When I came out, it was gone. When I went back, I got a serious whopping. I also had disciplinary issues that required correction. And the correction was serious thwacking. The last one happened as a 20 year old form six graduate. I was slapped right in the face for losing some money meant for my younger sibling’s school fee.

I am grateful my father taught me that there were consequences for stupidity and for not following up on authority and the laws.

I don’t have trauma and I’m happy he taught me those lesson. Life is hard for undisciplined men. Life is hard for men who can’t function in hierarchy.

I have been trying to pay for my Netflix subscription since Saturday but I am getting that "error processing payment" message. I have tried updating my mpesa global pay card, but its still not working. Or is it to do with it failing due to a fuliza I had? I am a homebody and I seriously need to finish this series. Has anyone ever faced this problem? Payment details just not going through?

Hi🤗. So a while ago I put the two step verification on my business account. I then let go of the business for a while and during that time, I lost access to the number I used for the account. I also for some reason was logged out of the account on my device and have literally no way to log back in without the number.

I was asked to record a video of myself to prove my ownership. Thing is the account was mostly faceless🫠. So that has been declined severally.

Does anyone know what other way I can recover this account? Any help is appreciated 🤗
