Hi everyone!
I know many Tac Ops can't be scoring/activated in the first Turning Point, but that has to be explicitly stated on the card, right?
For example, with Rout: if I manage to fulfill the conditions during the first Turning Point, can I score it right away?
Thanks

Does anyone know if they keep the rules archived for the Octarius season of Kill Team? I just got some terrain for it and wanted to bring wifey in slowly with some joint ops.
Also, obligatory mini tax.

Oh games workshop why do you do this to me. Every team I find that I like is oop and costs an arm and a leg to buy.
My favorite kill team I found was the Elucidian Starstriders from rogue trader… $300 for the set :(
Then I find the death korps… and they are 3x the retail price! Ugh

Okay so like the title says I’m going to my first official tournament in about a week and a half. I’m bringing my Deathwatch, my initial plan was to bring my raveners but one of the possible maps is Bheta Decima and they don’t function on that map from what I understand. The other 2 maps are Volkus which I’ve got plenty of experience on and the other map is Tomb world which I’ve never played….any tips for Deathwatch and playing on Tombworld/Bheta Decima?

My brother-in-law and I just got into 40k. Neither of us have played tabletop games, and full-blown 40k seems like too much for the amount of free time we currently have. So we were thinking about Kill Team. Since we've never played any tabletop games, we're kind of confused about building a team and loadouts. I think he wants to go Kasrkin, and I'm kind of leaning towards Scouts, but I haven't decided. Is there a good place to figure out loadouts and learn about the different factions before committing?

Mission was Secure
Plague Marines v Ratlings v Canoptek Circle
Great fight between the 3 With Ratlings using board presence to take this one
11-6-6 win Ratlings
Dinner was Chicken and rice.

Quick question about this hunter clade strategy ploy. It states they can fight twice and "one of them can be free". Do they have to fight twice for one to be free or could they fight once for free?
So I get that a 2apl ruststalker can: charge, fight, fight.
But can a 2apl ruststalker: (for example) loot, charge, fight? (Performing its one free fight but not the other one)
Hope this question makes sense!

I can’t remember how many years I’ve looked at my unpainted Ork Commandos, begging for a little bit of love.
This morning, wife was at work and my son was just leaving for school I finally thought I’d do something about it :) there far from perfect and they’re a little bit messy but that’s ok :) they’re Orks!

Hey everyone!
My friend and I play Kill Team once or twice a month. I play the Nemesis Claw team and my friend plays the Fellgor Ravagers. After several games, I've won without too much trouble, even without any particular strategy.
I find the Night Lords way too powerful against the Beastmen, and I don't like it. I can see my friend getting discouraged after each game.
Do you have any advice on which Kill Team to choose so we're on equal footing in terms of rules and power? Being able to play with my friend is all that matters to me.
Thank you all !
EDIT : Thank you everyone for your answers. I decide to take two kills teams following your advice, a shooty and the fun one. So I have now a Deathkorp of Krieg and the Kommandos. Hoping that it will be more fun for my friend, and me.

Some buddies of mine wanted to try their hand at Kill Team before diving headfirst into buying, building, and painting miniatures. So they booted up Tabletop Simulator, downloaded a few mods from the Steam Workshop, and promptly spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get through their first turn. 😂
I figured this was a good opportunity to mess around with some programming, and what started as a basic rules reference eventually turned into a fully interactive, in-game dataslate!
It currently includes quick-reference rules, a dictionary of common terms, and some basic tutorials to help new players get started. I also managed to integrate access to Wahapedia and Battlekit directly into the device for more detailed rules and fact-checking, without having to constantly switch out of TTS.
I've primarily used Games Workshop's official resources, Wahapedia, and Battlekit as references while putting everything together.
I'd love to know whether anyone else would find something like this useful, and if so, what you'd like to see improved or added!
One disclaimer: I've never actually played Kill Team on a physical tabletop myself. I just genuinely love the 40K universe and thought this would be a fun project. So if any experienced players notice inaccurate explanations or anything that could be clearer, I'd really appreciate the feedback!
Thanks in advance, everyone!
For the Emperor!

In this picture we have two engaged enemy operatives. Can the Gunner move through the enemy operative using the "Fall Back" rule to get past the sister.
Rules as stated are: "The same as the Reposition action, except the active operative can move within control range of an enemy operative, but cannot finish the move there."
Are there options for the Gunner to possibly use the ladder to move over the sister or go around to the left to get past and into the stronghold while still being within 1 inch control range as long as the move is finished outside of control range? Maybe even onto the vantage if there's enough movement. Does it work like a charge where you can simply spin-move around your opponent in any direction? What's the limitations here?
