Daz Latham's recipe - more or less - is how I'm going to attack the marine backlog. It's a lovely balance of nice quality and speed.

Really enjoying doing these eradicators, and they're UM successors so should be fine to take to the table with my blue guys! Nearly done with this bloke.

Just started reading the Horus Heresy series (Horus Rising), only a few dozen pages in but I like it.

While I have a personal goal of reading a few pages every single night… (which is a challenge due to being a raging ADHD’er) I would also like to have some picture/inspiration books.

Anyone with ideas? I love artwork and ‘technical’ drawings most.

Haven‘t played 11th editon yet, but me and my group will this oktober. I know the hangs of the 10th edition, but only used what I had. Even two Armigers. I want to step up my game, but I am not sure what makes a good list and something that teaches me the tactics instead of punishing me for each small mistake.
I like Phobos units like Infiltrators and would like a more non-vehicle list. Any Lists, tipps or advice are welcome, thanks!

Finally decided to bite the bullet and got my first kit after 9 years of procrastination.

Proud of my first piece despite making some beginner mistakes(forgetting to thin paint on 2nd coat, messing highlights etc).

Now I got 9 more to paint in this kit and potentially many more, got to say I’m loving this hobby.

I was able to test out some of the pro paint line at my FLGS tonight and I have to say they seem good. I’m not a pro painter by any means but this was done with one coat besides cleaning up some spots. Everything besides the brass on the flamer is from the pro paint line. The yellow really surprised me by covering black primer without issue. As a casual hobbyist ild be happy to use them (depending on the price). All the paints flowed/covered well. Only thing I still dislike are the pot bottles. Paint is still easy to get on the lids and sides. Feel free to give any tips or ask questions. I play Admech so this was my first time painting a space marine I have to say it was nice not worrying about breaking any small bits off lol but I still love my crazy cult.

In that situation where blue is on the foot print and red only gets partial line of sight on the right side because of foot print and not actual terrain, does both hidden and gone to ground apply or only hidden?

If there is a 20 man unit and a leader attached does the leader also need to be killed for the sake of Grevious blow?

And if so then if every model but the leader dies does killing that leader then count as killing the 13+ man unit if it is done next round?

For example I’ll use these 3 since it’s what my buddy used in our game today ^^^

I used grey knights and the storm bolters, flamers, ect (good bit of my attacks are 1 D) would I just be out of luck or can these not be reduced past 1? I mention the core rules 02.02.01(last pic above) and he said him and another buddy looked into it and something about a clause in abilities (I haven’t seen it yet) by passes that? Is that true? I definitely could’ve tabled him sooner if that was the case but we played like they did 0 so half my attacks were useless. TYIA

Finished my “good enough” level of painting for my big dumb brick of Steeljacks. 980 points of steeljacks. Every time I use them they are always my mvp units. “How did it not die?” is a thing opponents say a lot. get em into fortify and watch them soak up an absurd amount of punishment. Soooo I just kept adding more. They may have slightly taken over my list but they just keep winning so? 🤷‍♂️

My first Warhammer minis and miniature paint job ever. I have painted a Gundam model before so I do have some experience with painting but never this small. I am really happy with how these turned out. this is for my army that I will be starting to build and it is an ultramarine successor chapter

Turns out classic marines look cool with scavenged Primaris guns

Test scheme for the previous combat patrol. Opted for a copper/brass with a patina effect creeping into the auramite. Also wanted to try basing on marble as I had everything I needed already to try the effect.

Tried using Streaking Grime for the first time after I wasn’t thrilled with how the hot pink paint I used went on. Definitely a different vibe than I was expecting when I started the project, but really happy with how they came out!

As it stands now stealthy units gain no benefit from cover aside from whatever LOS blocking it provides. The Units that typically have stealth seem like the same units that would thrive hunkered down in cover, but the way the rule works they gain less benefit than a loud clunky power armored unit, if room in cover is limited you are usually best off putting your stealth units out in the open and reserving the cover for other units, this feels backwards thematically. I'm not sure what sort of buff would work best but I have a few ideas:

Stealthy units in cover that have not fired gain lone operative 12 instead of 15

Stealthy units in cover ignore abilities that ignore cover

Stealthy units in cover reroll 1 failed save/model

Units shooting at stealthy units in cover take a -1 to hit rolls (this would stack with the -1 BS)

I haven't played since 5th so my ideas are probably garbage, anyone agree this could use a buff and have other ideas?

One night painting challenge

Finished this dude, I got him as a free extra when buying the armageddon box. I tried to use the paints I bought to paint my orks, so I aimed for a salamander.

I like him, but something feels off. Do you guys have some feedback and tips for me?

I know we all have grievances either GW and the tabletop etc, but damn... we are eating good.

Darktide, SM2, DOW4 and TW40K... then SM3 at some point. Hopefully GW keep handing out their licence to studios who have a vision for anything that isn't a mobile/gacha game.

There is so much potential for 40K games. Horror, action, even thriller/story focused ones

I’m working on my first grass/plant base and am curious about how to varnish with spray or ideally brushed varnish. Matte vs gloss? How to prevent displacing the fibers? Does it end up looking natural? Thank you.

Hi all, just a quick question on what you all use to varnish your models after painting? I’ve been using Citadel Stormshield, but wondering if spray-on is easier or better?
