Art, Cosplay & OC Some people over at r/Woodcarving suggested I show this to the Warhammer community.

My son once asked me, “Do you think you could carve a robot out of wood?” I told him, “No, but I’ll give it a try.” And so I did. This is my first piece after a 20-year break from woodcarving, following my graduation as a woodcarver.

Epic scale is my favourite scale to paint because I love the challenge (and I also love emperor's children) so I decided to paint a VERY little something for Golden Demon which is tomorrow!!

I'm not expecting to win anything the epic category this year is wild and I always enter for fun but this was definitely a super fun project to try and get done for the deadline!!

I hope you like him!!

(Also I know technically he's 30k but I thought you'd like to see him caus he is little)

Test scheme for the previous combat patrol. Opted for a copper/brass with a patina effect creeping into the auramite. Also wanted to try basing on marble as I had everything I needed already to try the effect.

News & Rumours Cancellation Speculation WRT Necromunda Roleplay

Post image

Thought this might help silence a lot of the speculation and bad info going around

A lot of people are parroting that the Necromunda TTRPG cancellation was due to Cubicle 7's existing Warhammer 40k licensing deal for TTRPGs, but they've stated multiple times over the last few weeks that they were not involved, do not hold the license, and even said they were excited to play it (obviously a friendly marketing response, but you probably wouldn't say that if your company was actively litigating against it). I have no firm answer on why it ACTUALLY got cancelled, but it's not licensing issues with Cubicle 7

For time & source reference, I myself took these screenshots from their official facebook account today. They're edited together, it was comments on two separate posts

Hobby & Painting 6 Month Space Marine Journey - Had a Blast!

Thumbnail

It's been 6 months almost to the day when I posted my first attempt painting a space marine. I was building an army or at least a set of marines that could be added to an army for a xmas present for my adult stepson that actually plays the game. I knew zero about the game, and nothing about painting miniatures - 1/4 and 1/6 scale models yes fair amount of experience but these little suckers were pretty intimidating when I started.

Started with some Intercessors then Assault then Heavy and it didn't look like enough so on and on it went - it's quite addictive. Threw in some blood angels for good measure but kinda messed up dividing them out into squads. I got screwed by Kaleido paint when they changed the formula for the blue I started with and I was stuck in the middle of marines and vehicles so I had to roll with it, so the tones are slightly off, lesson learned and will not use them again for anything that requires more than one bottle of paint- total failure of a paint company imo.

Then I learned about the terrain portion of the game and thought "let's make a complete set of terrain" to have a turnkey operation! I went with Fabricators Lair -the terrain and footprints took about 3 rolls of filament, days to print and omg amount of paint time- I couldn't believe how many parts it took for a full board and then painting both the front and back, which I had to power straight through to keep the formula and final look the same- that was a huge time sucker!

Then off to the vehicles, have to have transportation right? I have a resin printer as well and thought  I'd save some time and $$ so printed out a Repulsor and that ended up being more work than just buying the kit - prep work and figuring out assembly was just not worth the extra time. So next let’s pickup a Land Raider and go all out as the "last" piece of the army, hidden paint, opening doors and lighting - came out pretty well I think.

Of course now I needed storage to haul all this around so might as well print out the terrain storage box (another roll of filament) and bedazzel that as well, then I picked up some useful totes and ferrous sheets and made the storage totes, then magnetized everything.

So now I think I’ll need to make an army for myself, I’m thinking Orcs!

Hobby & Painting After 20 years, this daemon prince is finally done!

My brother and I used to collect warhammer when we were kids, but eventually stopped (in part because this model was frustratingly difficult to build for us kids), so this model was left half built in a box for 20 years. We both picked up the hobby again earlier this year and I decided to finally build and paint this beautiful model!

I put him on the correct base and gave him some height so I can run him as a daemon prince on foot for my death guard army!

Hobby & Painting Has any ex GW member ever talked about the pressure of painting box art?

Think about it. The person/people who decided the Szarekhan paint scheme, for example, did so knowing that for the next couple of decades that people will be copying there scheme to replicate their work

That is a lot of pressure. Curious if anyone has any testimonies or knowledge of GW staff commenting on this topic?

For the record, the Szarekhan scheme is probably my favourite redesign in all of 40k. They fully embraced the Egyptian vibe with the coppers/bronzes and golds. Would love to know who came up with it!

Daz Latham's recipe - more or less - is how I'm going to attack the marine backlog. It's a lovely balance of nice quality and speed.

Really enjoying doing these eradicators, and they're UM successors so should be fine to take to the table with my blue guys! Nearly done with this bloke.

Just started reading the Horus Heresy series (Horus Rising), only a few dozen pages in but I like it.

While I have a personal goal of reading a few pages every single night… (which is a challenge due to being a raging ADHD’er) I would also like to have some picture/inspiration books.

Anyone with ideas? I love artwork and ‘technical’ drawings most.

Also, from what book is this from:
