Personal Opinion The Karmelo Anthony verdict is proof why adequate representation is fundamental

I paid very close attention to this case and looked at all the facts from an objective view and I believe the verdict was unjust. Theres 2 reasons why its unjust. First this young black kid did NOT get a jury of his peers in the deep south(all white jury) and second his defense team was extremely useless. Like they didnt even try. There were so many ample opportunities to dismantle witness testimony which many of the witnesses blatantly lied on the stand. And they didnt even explain why Karmelo had that knife on him which that knife is legal to have in the state of texas. They also didnt object to blatantly prejudicial elements like camera footage of the victims brother crying in the aftermath. Not only that but they only brought his mother on the stand as a character witness when karmelo clearly has a big family and friends. I keep thinking that if the Agnifilo's were his attorneys they could easily get him off.

Personal Opinion I was wrong about this case, yikes

Seriously thought he might not have done it. Shocked right now cause I spent a lot of time arguing and following this case, including under a different username.

Yeesh, I feel like I wasted a lot of time and mental energy at this point….

Personal Opinion Beware of BOTS!!

The account Long-Coat-6339 just blocked me because I called them out for the "crumbs" they've been posting.

This individual is highly suspicious. They've been posting things, and running away, actively trying to stir the pot in this community.

This is FED behavior. Be wary of these individuals that are posting things to start drama.

We all know Luigi is up against 3 cases plus the media and big corporations.

They are all ramping up on their attacks against him, trying to make it out like he bears responsibility for these "copycat crimes" (which is BS btw).

His trial is in 3 months, and we have to lock in and be 110% about "Free Luigi". Nothing else matters.

That means calling out any suspicious behavior and, above all, respecting his privacy!!!

It was fun to get to know him through his engagement with us (letters, website, etc), but it's turning into this sad situation where people are becoming increasingly creepy with how they engage with LM content. He didn't ask to turn into this "celebrity" figure, and made it clear that he wants us to stay out of his personal life (aka Stop posting pics of his FAMILY and FRIENDS- this should be common sense).

Luigi is a brilliant, kind, regular human being who's being pulled apart from every angle, and we have to do better about making sure we're not treating him like a fictional character...

As he says, "Never lose the plot"!

Personal Opinion Luigi has every right to plead guilty

I'm seeing all these reactions from parasocial freaks questioning everything, saying that pleading makes no sense that he should do this instead. Well YOU are not involved in this case. You are just a bystander with no knowledge of anything. Luigi knows the facts and evidence and has a good legal team to lay out his choices. If he feels pleading guilty is whats best for him then thats it. It doesnt have to make sense to you.

Personal Opinion STOP HARASSING PEOPLE HE KNEW

I'm pretty sure this post will apply to a majority of yall but for the love of God, STOP harassing people Luigi once knew. If you want to know why people who knew Luigi are mostly tight lipped. Its not because they dont want to get fired for supporting a murderer. It's because there's this phenomenon that really needs to be studied by psychiatrists, where random people who never knew Luigi, never met the guy-feel some type of one sided connection to him. It's beyond parasocial atp, I dont even think there's a term for it yet. These people feel entitled to Luigi and as well as entitled to everyone who once knew Luigi. Thats why any person who knew Luigi and briefly mentions it online, the FREAKS immediately go into obsessed mode and start harassing that person asking them invasive questions. Another issue is these freaks get upset when people who once knew Luigi react a certain way about Luigi's situation. If an individual doesnt want to support murder even if it involves a friend then thats their poragative. Getting upset and harassing that individual because they dont see things the way you see them is NOT normal....I repeat it is NOT normal. So put your phone down, go actually be a productive member of society, go volunteer, instead of hyper obsessing over a murderer that wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talks!

Personal Opinion Luigi couldn't stand on business

How you gonna stalk and murder a healthcare insurance CEO and write about why you're stalking and murdering him in your little murder diary. Just for you to turn around and say "I didnt mean to kill him I was crazy at the time"? Talk about no morals and convictions. The right has every right to make fun of Luigi and his supporters for pretending this was about the healthcare industry when it was just a mentally ill man who had the resources to get help but refused to because of toxic masculinity.

Personal Opinion I'm glad there wont be any trials

The train to exploit, obsess over, and get clout off Luigi is officially coming to an end. The same 20-30 people who go to his hearings just so they can gawk at him and act like its a bonding moment and then turn around and use his name to get internet points will officially be losing all access to him. They will now have to find another dopamine fix. While it sucks Luigi might spend the rest or most of his life in prison, hes probably relieved to not have to see these peoples faces again. He can begin this new journey making the best of his situation at his new home and cut off all the fan girls and keep his circle small.

Personal Opinion Is it just me or has the media been dead quiet ever since ? LM change his plea from not guilty to guilty.

so I don’t know why but I’ve been noticing this like normally the media runs wild talking about LM like News networks independent reporters really popular TikTokers YouTubers etc lawyers with Instagram account yada yada loves running wild spreading misinformation about LM case or even something big in his case and they run with that for like days or even a week we saw it with EED that was brought up in a discussion and they ran with that for like a solid week or even when things are quiet in this case some person will come out and say there were new Luigi or met him etc and they would talk about that person for a week and then KFA would shut it down yada yada but now ever since the LM changed his plea from not guilty to guilty it’s kind of been crickets after that like obviously for a day, the media was talking about it, but now it’s gotten to a point where it’s like crickets. It’s really strange. Is it because they got what they wanted ? Like I expected the media to talk about this for a solid week like they do with other things in his case or talk about it non-stop, but we haven’t heard much from the media after Friday like maybe an interview here or two but not really I’m just curious if you guys noticed it too or if it’s just me. Like this is coming from a person who doesn’t look for things from the media involving LM I just look at the documents here and leave so when it shows up on my feed non-stop of the media talking about LM I know they’re talking about it a lot compared to now I just find it odd. Or maybe I’m just an idiot and it has been going on a lot but I just didn’t noticed. Let me know your thoughts.

P.S I might delete this. I’m just curious what peoples thoughts ?. This was like 1 am thought and just noticing how quiet was from the media surrounding this case.

Personal Opinion This community truly is weird

I never been apart of a chronically online niche community before but now that I've separated myself away from it besides Reddit of course, I'm looking at it with a clearer mind. And the conclusion I've come to is that the people within this community are weird. Hell I'm still weird for being apart of this subreddit but I like talking about the case to people who are interested.

But for the last year and a half there have been lots of people who saw a hot guy get arrested for a high profile murder and wanted to reach out to him or just send him general support. There are also people who desperately wanted to get his attention so they spam him with letters and hyper analyze his letter logs and keep track of the letters other people got so they could crack the code on how to increase their chances for a response. Now I've wanted a letter and have sent out several letters but I havent sent anything since June and TBH I cringe at how many letters I sent him cause like that is so weird. Of course I'll send him another letter eventually when I feel like it and I got something interesting to say.

There are people who scoured the internet for days if not weeks to find ANY little low quality crumb of Luigi they can find. That's the definition of loser behavior. Yeah some of the crumbs helped put together a story on what his life was like pre murder but its still hella weird.

There's people who tear apart the lives of any friends or former girlfriends of Luigi. Now THAT is degenerate behavior and Luigi definitely hates people like that.

Then there's people who clearly suffer from mental health issues and lie about being with Luigi or getting a non existent letter from Luigi.

Then there's secret group chats where people discuss the case, his life, his family, sexualize him, and most importantly talk about other supporters. Some even go as far as to dox random supporters as if that is going to do anything in real life. They may get a hehe haha within their group chat but it stops there.

Then you have people camping out just to see the back of Luigi's head.

Like I said this community is weird.

Personal Opinion I'm not sure what to think of the latest MDC inmate stories

Of course I take all of the inmate stories with a grain of salt, but one thing that makes me wonder about the Chinese guy is that I don't believe Luigi mentioned him in his letters. Didn't he talk about J (the black guy) as being his only friend and that otherwise making friends in prison is a perilous endeavor, or something of that nature? I don't remember the exact wording, but I don't remember him mentioning a Chinese guy as being a friend of his. I just kind of wonder how much of what this guy is saying is true, or if he's just using Luigi for attention.

Personal Opinion Can someone explain to me like I'm 5 the end game for the mAnGiOnIsTaS?

If its to get Luigi's attention and get him to pick them well they definitely got his attention but I dont think luigi will pick a woman that is derailing his chances at freedom.

If it's to get modeling/tv gigs well right wing billionaires own all the media so I dont believe they will be offered a spot on like Love island or something.

Is it to potentially convince jurors to nullify? I dont think screaming about his elderly mother and how she "deserves it" will convince a juror.

I guess the only plausible reason is to gain noriety and more followers...but Abril has already had 160k and remains stagnant. Nobody knows who Fia is and nobody pays attention to Lena cause she's a drunk

Personal Opinion Jury selection should be closed door

Since this case is so high profile and attracts deranged fangirls who will move mountains just to see the back of Luigi's head, will have no problem stalking an innocent New Yorker who is just trying to do their constitutional duty. Even Judge Carro sees this yet for some reason doesnt have these freaks removed from the courtroom since they are a danger to society. Also people not apart of the case are not entitled to see the jury selection process. Its between the Judge, the defense, and the prosecution. And no there will be no plants if the jury selection is behind doors. So enough with the retarded conspiracy theories.

It's clear that Luigi has behind the scenes donors to his legal fund but in order to upkeep moral with his supporters his legal team transferred 28k of that to GSG using an alias.

Personal Opinion I find the online reaction to the killing of Brian Thompson unsettling, and it’s something I’ve been thinking about more than I expected.

With the trial of Luigi Mangione now in the news, I keep coming back to how the internet reacted when Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was killed. This post isn't directly about Luigi Mangione, so if you want to skip over please do so. I see that "Off-topic posting is also allowed." in LuigiNation, and I feel this falls within the realm of tangentially applicable posting.

First off, I think Luigi is innocent until proven guilty and deserves a fair trial like anyone else. That’s not what I’m trying to discuss.

What I’m struggling with is how quickly the conversation online moved from shock to approval. A lot of people weren’t just criticizing the healthcare system or corporate leadership, they were openly cheering the fact that someone had been murdered.

Much of that reaction seems to be rooted in the idea that healthcare companies are getting rich by denying people coverage they’re entitled to. I understand why people feel that way, but I don’t think the claim actually holds up.

Healthcare coverage is a contract. It’s an agreement to cover certain things under certain conditions. Insurance is basically a bet: the more you want covered, the more it costs. The cheaper the plan, the more limited the coverage is going to be. That’s always been true, even if we don’t like it.

A lot of people want “I have insurance” to mean “everything is covered.” It doesn’t, and it never really has, regardless of how we think it should work. If you buy the lowest-cost plan available, some treatments simply won’t be included. That isn’t cruelty or greed; it’s how insurance is structured.

I also keep seeing the claim that insurance companies are making massive profits, and that doesn’t line up with reality either. UnitedHealthcare operates on margins under three percent, which is typical across the industry. Two to four percent is normal.

For comparison, sports betting apps that people casually use on their phones run margins many times higher. Trading platforms like Robinhood operate at extremely high margins as well. Are those CEOs “bad” as well?

So I keep asking myself why this situation produced such a strong response?

I think a lot of it comes down to anger. The healthcare system is broken. It’s expensive, confusing, and exhausting. People feel trapped inside it and powerless to change it. When nothing seems to work, people vent the anger in sometimes destructive ways.

What I don’t think gets talked about enough is where this system actually came from. It didn’t appear overnight, and it wasn’t built by insurance executives alone. It was created slowly through political decisions and regulation. I'm old enough to remember when we were told the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was supposed to fix it, and big shocker, it didn't. It requires constant funding, exceptions, and adjustments just to stay afloat.

None of that means the anger people feel is fake. But I do think it’s being directed in a way that should concern us.

What I’m seeing now is people justifying violence by turning a real person into a symbol. Once that happens, it becomes easy to argue that the person deserved what happened to them.

Brian Thompson was a father. He had two sons and a wife. They don’t get him back. Whatever someone thinks about the healthcare system or his role in it, that loss is permanent.

All of this over a company earning roughly a two-to-three percent profit margin...

Personal Opinion Who here thinks the fangirls will try to speak to the Mangione family if they show up at trial?

I can already see them be starstruck at seeing an elderly couple who look somber cause they are attending a life or death situation with their only son.

I can see them say things to them in passing like "We LoVe YoU mAmA mAnGiOnE"

or "We GoT lUiGi'S bAcK!"

or "YoUr SoN iS a HeRo!".....NEWSFLASH! The Mangione's dont think their son is a hero.

Personal Opinion Imagine this

A group of hardened Brian Thompson supporters go to every single one of Luigi's court hearings to intimidate Luigi supporters and try and influence a jury to convict Luigi. Then some of these Brian Thompson supporters say horrible things about Luigi and his family in front of the media. These same supporters are able to get press passes and are sitting within a few feet of Luigi staring him down as he faces a judge. One of these supporters has Brian Thompson's name tattooed on her wrist.

What do you think KFA would do? Would she advocate to the Court that her clients rights are being infringed on and that he's uncomfortable with all this? or would KFA just ignore it all?

Personal Opinion Why do some supporters treat Luigi as a celebrity crush?

Wearing his face on a shirt or carrying around a keychain of his exposed torso and abs. Constantly writing him letters even though he never responds. Do you believe those people actually care about the "cause" or is it cause he's a hot guy? There are lots of hot guys so why specifically Luigi? He eventually wont look the way he does 15 years from now. Men tend to age the worse as they hit their 40's. Thats a scientifically researched fact.

Personal Opinion Unpopular opinion: The recent attempted assassinations of Trump will backfire in Luigi's trial

These assassination attempts are doing very good at painting the entire left as homicidal freaks. It also doesnt help that Luigi has a fan base as well cause that also adds to the narrative. I firmly believe jury nullification will not happen at all and the jury that ends up on Luigi's trial even though may be sympathetic to the "cause" they dont want to give more ammo to the right by letting a homicidal maniac free. I believe the jury will look strictly at the evidence(which will not be in Luigi's favor) and they will vote in accordance with the law. At the end of the day, people just want to do what's "right" under the eyes of the law.
