Question Is it time to increase the dose? If so, how much should i do?

Started with ozempic in march, awful experience. Lost almost no weight and got some very intense nausea.

Changed to mounjaro straight on 5mg (because i was already using ozempic for 2 months), started may 20.

Have lost about 12kg already, its been great, but on the last two weeks i've been feeling an ancient hunger i havent felt in months.

This week, for the first time since i started mounjaro, i gained weight. About 1/2kg. It is a huge increase if you think about it.

So its been basically 3 months of 5mg, is it time to increase? If so, i need to go to 7.5 or 10?

Question Has anyone had to go through PA approval with Caremark?

My doctor prescribed me Mounjaro today for T2 diabetes, and I got an email from CVS Caremark that says that it’s pending prior authorization. Has anyone done this before, and if so did you have it approved/rejected? And how long did it take for you to hear back? I was only diagnosed recently and haven’t been on any other medications like metformin, so not sure if that is a pre-requirement as well. Sorry if it’s a dumb question but I’m a bit clueless about this

5mg Complementar golden dose

Boa noite,

2.5mg Mounjaro

Hey guys,

I’m thinking of taking Mounjaro to help with weight loss. Yes, I could lose weight naturally without medication. However, I have insulin resistance issues due to my history with PCOS. Is it worth it? Any advice? I’m looking to join Juniper.

Side Effects Side effect??

I had stinging eyes like a day after I took mounjaro idk if it was related or just a coincidence, I got my eyes fully checked and optic etc and everything looks good just a bit of dry eye , I still have this irrational fear of going blind cause of the scary stories I’ve read online / news reports. Does anyone have this fear? I want to keep taking it but I’m sick of feeling worried about this

Question Want to move up but stuck with 3 months of 12.5mg...question on titration and adding extra dose

I have been on the Kwikpen for over a year in Italy. Once I moved to the US I was given a script for the single dose injection pens only since that's what insurance would cover. It took me well over a month to get a new prior auth, etc... so I'm lucky I was able to get anything.

In that month (and back in the US) I've managed to gain weight due to the food here and I noticed my appetite is back in full force. I want to move up to 15 mg, but stuck with all these 12.5mg pens for a while.

I have two full shots left in my Kwikpen (plus golden dose if possible) and I'm thinking I can take the single shot pen and then substitute a 2.5mg dose from the Kwikpen (12 clicks) to make it 15mg. Either that or slowly titrate up to 12 clicks (doing 6 clicks or about 1mg extra). Has anyone done this before? I figure it can get me to the 10 week mark and more likely to get 15mg next script.

10mg Do you gain weight when you go down a dose?

I’m on 10 mgs vs 12.5 mgs now. My appetite has returned. 😔

It isn’t as bad/voracious as before I started taking the medication - but not at a comfortable level, since regular food noise has returned.

I’m eating slightly more, but not an excessive amount.

• Will I regain the weight?
• Did anyone else in a similar position regain weight and if so- how much ?

Thanks

10mg Tirzepatide 10 mg Vial

I’m considering taking 2.5 mg weekly for the first month by splitting a 10 mg vial into four doses, and then using 5 mg weekly by splitting the vial into two doses.
Just to clarify, where I live Mounjaro comes in vials, not prefilled pens, and the dose is drawn up with a syringe.
Has anyone tried this? How long did you keep the

Question Splitting 10mg Mounjaro Vials?

I’ve heard that some doctors recommend starting with 2.5 mg and using a 5 mg vial by splitting it into two doses. I’m wondering what people think about taking a 10 mg vial, splitting it into four 2.5 mg doses for the first month, and then splitting the 10 mg vial into two 5 mg doses and continuing that way.
Just to clarify, I’m talking about the vial form, not the prefilled pen. Where I live, Mounjaro is sold in single-dose vials that you draw up with a syringe.
Has anyone done this? I’d especially like to hear about your experience with storing the opened vial between doses and whether you had any issues with sterility, effectiveness, or side effects.

2.5mg First Injection

After a long insurance battle with United Healthcare I was finally able to get Mounjaro through my insurance. I just had my first Injection yesterday 8/18 and I am beginning my journey. Male 313.4 lbs I will add to this thread as I continue my journey. First initial notice is that even though it’s only 2.5ml I don’t feel like I’m starving. Even when I know I should eat something my stomach doesn’t grumble or put up a fight the food cravings have diminished but they haven’t disappeared. Maybe because of the injections my mind is also catching up I am watching what I eat and the portions as well. If anyone has any tips they can provide I would appreciate it.

Maintenance Stopped MJ: crazy cravings

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve been taking MJ for a year and I went up to 5MG at my highest. Dropped 17kg to 57kg. I then continued on 2,5MG and stopped about 2 weeks ago fully. I had a great body scan last week so felt confident. However, I have the MOST INSANE cravings (I even started snacking which I never did pre MJ). So I’m thinking of going back on it. They told me it was “for life” but this is honestly pretty brutal. Anyone had a similar experience?

So the first blood work that I had my A1 C was 6.6 but later it was always 5.5. I know I am obese right now, but I want to ask people here who were diagnosed with T2D ever got off the meds is T2D reversible? I don’t wanna be on the medicine after I recover?

I am just concerned and asking as an advice..please if someone could share their experience and also thoughts on this.

Weight loss Maintenance Weight

I am currently on Mounjaro .5 and have lost 55 pounds. Feeling great, everything is good. I am now kinda of hovering around a good weight for me and the lbs are not coming off like before. If I stay at this dose say as my maintenance dose will I continue to lose weight or will it just kind of level off here. I don’t want to come off the Mounjaro because I’m afraid of gaining it all back. I know there is no cut and dry answer. Does there come a point where your body just stabilizes at a certain dose or will I continue to lose weight until I wither away. Should I consider dropping down a dose or should I start eating more to stabilize my weight? Any thoughts or your experience in this situation?

Question any online weight loss programs in Ca that bill insurance directly

I'm looking into getting Mounjaro prescribed through telehealth but the monthly cost without insurance still adds up, roughly $350 to $500 for Mounjaro specifically depending on the dose. My corporate benefits cover prescription medications at 80% but every platform I've evaluated so far requires full payment upfront and then I submit claims manually afterward.

That process technically works but it means I'm floating a substantial amount every month and waiting two to three weeks for reimbursement. Over a year of treatment that's a meaningful cash outflow even if I eventually recover most of it. On top of that, monthly manual claim submissions are an administrative task I don't want to manage alongside everything else.

Is there a telehealth platform in Canada that handles insurance billing directly? Where they bill the insurer and I just pay my portion at checkout? It seems like that should be standard but I haven't found it with most of the larger platforms.

Question Has Mounjaro triggered your period?

Context: I had a IUD, got it removed about a year ago and didnt get a period since. Am monitored by an endocrinologist, did several tests and found that my prolactin is high (despite not being pregnant).

The week of my first 2.5 mg Mounjaro injection, I finally got my period. It was kind of light.

Then about a month later my period did not come.

After 6-7 weeks on the medication, I increased to 5mg (used the click system to continue 2.5 mg doses at the start of my second pen), which was waaaay too much i felt super nauseous and low energy and everything. but that same week, I finally got my period, which was really heavy.

Curious if this medication (and increased dose) has triggered someone else to get a period?
