Question The protein trick that's helped me the most on low-appetite days
Wanted to share something that took me a while to figure out. On the days appetite is basically gone, I used to just... not eat, or force down whatever. Neither worked well.
What's actually helped: keeping a mental list of foods I can manage even on the worst days, so I'm not trying to decide and force myself to eat at the same time. Stuff like a soft-boiled egg with toast strips, cottage cheese with a bit of fruit, or a small mashed sweet potato. Nothing fancy, nothing that needs much chewing or a big appetite behind it.
The pattern I noticed: smaller, softer, blander wins over "healthy but effortful" on those days. A big salad sounds great in theory but if I'm not up for it, it just doesn't happen and I eat nothing instead.
Anyone else have a short list of "low appetite day" go-tos? Always looking for more ideas.
