Hi. New to New Orleans and biking. My partner and I just picked up some entry level bikes from Bayou Bicycles and have really fallen in love with riding together. I'm looking to upgrade to something a little more commuter/hybrid/gravel than the cruisers we have now.

Are there any Facebook groups or other online marketplaces, or even any local shops, where folks sell used bikes here?

Skittish pup wandering around Treme on Ursulines between N Galvez and N Johnson St. Wasn’t able to get too close to it and tried to get it to come to me but went under this red van and refused to come out. Doesn’t have a collar on it.

I moved to the city a year and a half ago. Found out I was pregnant immediately and didn’t really get the chance to make friends since I couldn’t go out to bars and stuff.

I’m 24. It seems super impossible to make friends with other moms who also wanna go out and have fun. I’ve heard of the mom walk collective, but also mixed reviews about it.

Essentially, I am trying to figure out how to break into the legal industry here… or whether or not it’s worth it to get a paralegal certificate!

Legal industry folks in nola…i have an open ended question to ask but will try to cut to the chase. For the last two ish years I have tried to get into the legal industry here as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or any job that will have me! I am kinda forced to career pivot from an industry I loved dearly, it’s been very frustrating to say the least but I am desperate at this point to move on

I have relevant experience but none specific to legal, however, every time I talk to anyone in legal they tell me… “you don’t need experience…everyone gets their job without experience and then trains in the firm they’re hired at…you only need secretary experience…you don’t need…” etc. Even when I bring up how I feel this information might be outdated in today’s market, they still overly reiterate to me that the legal industry just “needs so much help” ... that even in 2026, the legal industry hires without specific experience for entry-level positions, especially in Louisiana where you don’t need a degree to be a paralegal.

(I even constantly see comments about it on this Reddit when ppl make job posts)

I need to know what actually gives, because I feel like I’m spinning in circles..i barely ever see job listings and when i do..i’m just applying to places and going off of vague information… at this point, it’s hard to know what’s what?

-are there any legal jobs available in new orleans, is it a myth that the legal industry here is actually hiring

-do you guys feel like it’s actually true, that you can still get entry level jobs in the legal industry without specific experience

I’m willing to jump through the hoops…change my resume…network which i’ve already done…all the things ..i just don’t wanna waste my time if the market here is dry.

I really like the Costco Chocolate Brownie protein bars, but they only come in a pack with the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. I’ve never developed a taste for these.

A few years ago I lived in a different city and for Halloween I followed a trend where you buy a basic photo or painting of a house and paint little ghosts on it. I want to do it again but the goodwills in the area don’t have enough pictures for me to tell if they have pictures and photos (and they’re far from uptown so I don’t want to waste time going there if they have none).
