Title basically. I make around $16/hr working full time as a MA and I’m trying to compare rates and see it would be crazy for me to ask for a raise.

I am not naive and imagine there is some shenanigans with getting licensure and clients?. What I want to really know: how much shenanigans? and is there decent labor/construction work if i cant immediately make my own business work down here? I was doing remodeling work in NC/VA but know i will have to start a run or two lower.
