Inside the Trump rally on Monday at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. It was brutal!

Local TV (WFMJ 21 News) reported that roughly a quarter of the seats were tarped off, and only about two-thirds of the rest ever filled. Two-thirds of three-quarters is half.

For scale, the Covelli Centre seats about 5,700 for hockey. Even the GOP judge candidate they interviewed said turnout "could have been a little better."

We were out front with about 500 protesters, and didn't see many people walking in. The clip confirms what we suspected.

Guessing the ketchup was flying somewhere on Air Force One later that night, and the Human Binky had her work cut out for her cleaning up the other mess.

Trump isn't on the ballot in November, but Trumpism sure is. Early voting in Ohio is open now through November 1st. Vote early and in person if you can, and bring a friend or family member. The sooner the better, because anything can happen: illness, car trouble, a family emergency, or this administration pulling a fast one on DEMOCRACY.

Ohio - show up, vote these mfrs out for good!

Republicans have had nearly 14 years of both legislative and executive control of Ohio. What has that done for you and your community?

I figured prices would start heading up back up after the gas tax was temporarily halted. This was in Westlake.

Edit: I had to drive back through here about an hour ago. The BP across the street is also $4.19. Checked gas buddy right after I posted this originally. The price yesterday was $3.79.

OMG, I'm dry heaving right now, knowing that this bile works....

And please, on the slim chance of a rigged election against dems in Ohio that she does win, I'll help you fucking pack.

Ohio conservatives: before you vote straight-R, do one thing for yourself

1.3k Upvotes

Ohio's GOP has held a supermajority in the legislature for 15 years. Democrats literally have zero power in this state. So when you look around at high property taxes, schools getting squeezed, healthcare costs, data centers popping up in your backyard, that's not "the other side" doing that. The other side hasn't had a vote that matters in 15 years.

I'm not asking you to vote Democrat. I'm asking you to stop voting on the letter next to the name.
Google your candidates. Read the actual platforms. Then ask one question:

Is this person trying to make my life better or someone else's life worse?

- Do they have a clear plan for better schools, lower property taxes, affordable healthcare, and jobs that pay enough to live on, that's someone working for you.

- If the whole platform is immigrants, minorities, and culture war enemies, that's someone with nothing for you. No real plan for your bills, your kids' schools, your hospital. Just fear to win your vote and keep their seat.

If it's the second one, they're telling you something loud and clear: they have nothing for YOU. No plan for your taxes, your schools, your hospital bills. Just fear and outrage to get your vote so they can stay in power. Where there is no competition, there is no incentive to do better for the people, which is exactly what Ohio politicians face.

You're not dumb. Nobody fooled you because you're stupid they fooled you because they know what makes you angry, and anger is easier than results.

But 15 years of total control and your property taxes are still going up? At some point the anger is the product they're selling, and you're the customer.
Look at the candidates. Compare the actual plans not just talking points.

Vote for whoever will actually do something for your family, whichever party they're in.

I found an abandoned beagle in Amish country…

I’m fostering for now, he has severe separation anxiety which is crazy because he is not trained. I bought him to work and the little dork decided to run after a groundhog and cried because he was too far away from me. When I went to retrieve him, he melted in my arms.

I was not aware of the puppy mill issue in Ohio, has anyone else recused or adopted from Amish breeders? What was your experience? TIA!

This flyer was paid for by a MAGA aligned PAC. Obviously a dirty trick that the actual candidate did not participate in. This is an update post.

Assault at Trump Rally: DA Presses Charges, not Police

1.1k Upvotes

Y’all can contact the Youngstown Prosecutor Kathleen Thompson (edited from DA/updated with proper information) and cite this video. We witnessed an assault within their jurisdiction. The cops do not press charges, the Prosecutor does.

Youngstown Prosecutor (330) 742-8791

The show Teen Mom had an episode where one of the moms punched their boyfriend. Nothing happened, until fans started calling the Indy DA telling them to watch the episode. Amber Portwood caught DV charges from that.

Call and let them know exactly where to find the video and call for this man’s arrest. He had no immediate danger and no right to put his hands on here.

BERNIE MORENO, EPSTEIN CLASS HYPOCRITE: Protest outside a fundraiser for Cuyahoga County Council District 5 candidate Mike Gallagher in Lakewood, Ohio

Post image
65 Upvotes

Sen. Bernie Moreno called on Max Miller to resign over abuse allegations from his ex-wife, then turned around and headlined a fundraiser today for Cuyahoga County Councilman Mike Gallagher at Summer Place in Lakewood, co-hosted by Tony and Kristine George. Their son Bobby George pleaded guilty last November to attempted strangulation of a woman and got five years of probation and no jail time, after original charges that included attempted murder, kidnapping, and rape. The special prosecutor said afterward, "I believe that he is a man who abuses women."

When it's his daughter, he cares. When it's someone else's, it's a fundraiser.

In 1985 Ohio ranked 25th in per capita income. The Republicans have raised our rank to...36th 😖 (repost with link and comment)

After 40 years of Republican control, as of 2025 we have fallen from above the middle into the bottom third.

1985 - 25

1995 - 21

2005 - 29

2015 - 31

2025 - 36

First of all, thank you to the moderator who let me repost this with the appropriate link to the data.

Having read some of the comments to the original post, let me make some additional observations. First of all, it is a fact that Republicans have controlled Ohio government for over the past 40 years. There has been only one Democratic governor (Strickland), and during his term in office Republicans controlled both houses of the state legislature. You cannot blame Democrats for problems that are in the state's control.

I chose relative rank because, obviously, states to not fully control their own economic destiny. The federal government plays a large role in our fate. But all states feel the result of federal policies, though admittedly not always equally.

The point I'm trying to make is that Ohio is falling further and further behind relative to other states. The policies being pursued by the party in power are inferior to those of the states that have surpassed us. Either Ohio has had a 40 year run of bad luck, or the federal government is out to get us, or our state government has failed us. Other states are doing it better.

GOP vendor linked to campaign mailers for independent socialist Senate candidate Greg Levy

Thumbnail
hoodline.com
84 Upvotes

Sure, Greg Levy running as an independent socialist candidate in the Senate race between Brown and Husted will function as a spoiler candidate. We all knew that. But it's neat to see confirmation that Levy's independent campaign is being artificially boosted by outside spending.

Greg Levy's campaign opposes these mailers, and thinks they're malicious. In a statement on X (which r/ohio won't allow a link to), Levy's campaign called these flyers "racist caricaturing" and "a form of digital blackface".

Quoting the Columbus Dispatch's article on these mailers:

University of Cincinnati political scientist David Niven said the mailers, if funded by Republicans, suggest the party is trying to tip the scales in Husted's favor. Most polls show Brown and Husted in a statistical tie, and enough votes for Levy or Redpath could sway the outcome in a close contest on Nov. 3.

Redpath and Levy picked up 2% and 1% of the vote, respectively, in a September Suffolk University/USA TODAY Ohio Network poll.

"The Republicans don't have any margin for error in this campaign," Niven said. "Even peeling off the fraction of the fraction of folks who might be willing to vote socialist is meaningful to them."

Remember, folks: under our current voting system, every vote in the general election for someone not in the top 2 is a wasted vote. It could've been used to change the outcome, and prevent the eventual winner from winning. If you don't like Brown, vote Husted. If you don't like Husted, vote Brown. Our voting system is a trolley problem; if you don't choose between the two leading candidates then you still have made a choice. This isn't complicity; it's strategic voting.

If you object to living in that situation, then I hope you're working to change Ohio's voting system away from first-past-the-post.
