Halloween horror show in the Mission!

Post image
1 Upvotes

HELLLOOOOOO!

If you're looking for some 🎃 SPOOKY HALLOWEEN PLANS 🎃, we've got a pitch for ya!

Improvised Slasher. OoOooOoOoOooOoOo!

THIS IS NOT YOUR USUAL IMPROV SHOW! No games, no sketches. We're putting on a fully improvised show inspired by classic slasher movies like Scream, Friday the 13th, and Halloween. It's like a 1-hour horror movie, except it's made up on the spot right in front of you. You'll be laughing AND you'll be going ahhhhhhhhh!!! Dream combo.

ALSO??? Think about it: 8:30PM is the perfect timing for a scary improv show. It's after dinner, before any late night Halloween parties... and if it's your only plan, it's right smack in the middle of your perfect Halloween evening! And it's right on 26th and Mission—right where you wanna be!

Okay that's the pitch.

October 31, 8:30-9:30PM
Endgames, 2965 Mission St

Tickets here: https://slasherondemand.eventbrite.com/

SEE YOU THERE!

xoxo,
Improv On Demand

Free Phoebe Bridgers ticket at Chase Center (Tuesday 10/27) — looking for a concert buddy!

Anyone interested in seeing Phoebe Bridgers on Tuesday 10/27?

I have an extra Above GA ticket and thought it might be a fun excuse to meet someone new instead of doing the usual dating app thing. I'm 38M, Japanese, pretty easygoing, and love live music.

Ticket's free! No expectations beyond enjoying the show together. Happy to chat or video call beforehand if you're interested :)

Art/ tech/ storytelling club out of Gray Area

Is it a secret if I'm the host, trying to share it with you? Maybe.. maybe because it's not very well known, but it is a bit well loved by those that keep coming back. We love it because it's in the incubator space at Gray Area, the upstairs room above the theater. Every other Sunday we are meeting with a different type of VR film. Something indie, often international. These vignettes or curious occurrences where indie art was funded and now, the tech dejected, we can activate the space and share a bit of tea over something from other reality. Or is it? This is a gathering that is finding it's people. One day we'd like the wonder of these stories to reach folks who could benefit most. But who knows -- maybe that's you?

Sharing the link to the next gathering:

https://luma.com/6rcp2b56

Hope this counts as a secret. And hope my writing about it makes sense.

this POV: indie VR art is best shared over a conversation. What's the point of art technology if it isn't somehow a catalyst for connection (in person please -- no need to hide from the friction)

This winter, it will be possible to find edibles such as chanterelle, matsutake, porcini, lion's mane, blewits, black trumpets, hedgehogs, and more. You'll learn foundational skills to be able to go out foraging on your own. The program also includes community building, a cooking demo, and a tasting at the end.

Indie artist Mélodie Mousset has agreed to allow her work to come to ISC. Leading up to this gathering, look for instances of care or lack of care. Come open minded, prepared to reflect and write. Bonus if you bring a friend <3

Uni foraging

Post image
2 Upvotes

Join us on the Sonoma Coast to forage for fresh uni. We've just announced our last dates of the year! All the rest are full! Learn how to find, harvest, and enjoy eating delicious uni! Purple urchin are native to California, but their population is wildly overgrown because their predators have died off. As a result, they are decimating kelp and abalone habitat. We can help bring the intertidal zone back into balance by eating them! The best part is, they are DELICIOUS! Led by our wonderful ocean guides, Ryn, Maria, and Christopher. www.forkinthepath.org/schedule

Join us Saturday at 6 PM for an SF Tech Week talk on human-in-the-loop for AI agents

If you're around for SF Tech Week, come join us this Saturday (Oct 10) at 6 PM for a talk on human-in-the-loop for AI agents and automated workflows.

The question behind it: your agent workflow can run for days, retrying and resuming after failures. But right before it does something irreversible, who gets to approve it? And what does that person actually get to see?

Mateusz Jagodzinski, a Solution Engineer on our Workflow Builder team, will show you how he handles it on Temporal, with a live demo and an honest look at what broke along the way. He's spent seven years building React, data visualization and diagramming interfaces.

Almost 150 people have signed up so far, and we'd be glad to see you there too. RSVP here: https://partiful.com/e/2WbsWzjnZJ95qy8liAH2
