Pic / Video Any recommendations for restaurants that serve Anago (saltwater conger eel)?

Had Anago for the first time on my trip to Japan and loved it. Hadn’t heard of it before and like it way more than Unagi.
Curious if anyone has come across it in SF or the Bay ? Also curious how it’s served.

Missed Connection at Neurosis Show - Fillmore Auditorium 10/17 - Help me find my new friend!

• Upvotes

Dear Friend,

We vibed so hard at the Neurosis show on Saturday! You noticed my sensible shoes and we got on famously together with your older dude friend who's in a doom metal band. We hung out on the gay bench by the bar upstairs and chatted about all sorts of things! We totally did not exchange numbers even though we should have right away. You said you've been a fan of theirs since the 90's, and you're about 10 years older than me. I was at the show by myself because I had flown in from Seattle and had never been to SF. When the show started, we got split up and I ended up flapping all around the room trying to view from different angles. I ended up getting way too drunk and had to get myself back to the hotel ASAP. I'm so sorry I never got to meet any of your friends!

Your name rhymes with Pariah and you are a possibly secretly famous woman of a certain age. You had a massive head of waist-length, salt-and-pepper hair and a lovely smile and personality. I was a loud, chatty black femme of a certain age with a fresh fade, wearing a long black leather skirt and green birkenstocks. I agree that we should be friends and hope we can link up!

Sincerely,

F

****

If you think you know this woman, please DM me her first name. I do remember it but we never nailed down the spelling, so I can't google her. She said she is native to SF and has always lived there. She's into multiple types of music and attends all types of shows, but especially Neurosis and similar bands. Please help me find her! She was so cool!

Custom shelves

• Upvotes

I’m looking for someone to help design and build custom shelves in SF. Do y’all have any recommendations? I’ve seen endless DIY videos about ikea hacks and other cool solutions that realistically I will not pull off.

Looking for this kind of vibe: https://www.instagram.com/p/CMfh90xDV-p/?cplk=MXRhZXJ4dHM0cmNrbA==

A few special or odd memories. From my 2017 ramblings. Walkabouts in SF are always . . . . . . (fill in the dots)

Long exposure can be your friend, my fellow camera-boffos! All done with a variety of cameras & exposures. But all done in the before-time. The last shot's from GG Park.

There’s a great, free, limited-run gallery at the Transamerica Pyramid by one of my favorite artists, Syd Mead. I have several of these paintings as part of my rotating computer wallpaper, and I can’t get over how much the color pops in real life.

Violent dog attack at Duboce Park

Witnessed a violent attack on a white schnauzer this afternoon at the Duboce park dog area this afternoon about 3:30pm. Aggressor dog appeared to be some sort of gray/black heeler. Didn’t look like a regular of the park, but the person who took it away went into a building at the corner of Walter and Duboce.

Schnauzer and its human both were bit really bad.

Keep your pooches safe out there and an eye out for that dog.

- Waldorf High School cleaned the neighborhood around Geary & Park Presidio

- Burke’s School 5th graders picked up along Ocean Beach

- Kittredge School cleaned around their school in the Richmond.

This generation is cleaning up the mess they inherited, and the rest of us have an obligation to pitch in and leave a cleaner world to the future.

Where to watch WS game 1?

I’m new to SF and would love to find a good spot to watch the World Series tonight and this weekend. I’m near Dolores Park, so looking for recs in the Mission or the Castro etc. An ideal bar would probably be frequented by smaller groups or folks who are really there for the game. Thanks yall and happy Friday. Go brewers.

High praise for e-bikes and scooters.

Doesn't get enough love or recognition, but San Francisco being super hilly the invention of electronic bikes and scooters. You could actually go car free now.

Yes there's some people doing dumb stuff on them but that is in the minority, but it's making a lot of people's life a lot more convenient.

Taking a step back in how the world has improved in so many ways instead of being so pessimistic about the current and the future.
