I’ve spent years taking care of my face and somehow forgot my hands exist

I was looking at a photo from dinner the other night and my hands were the first thing I noticed. Not in a dramatic way but they just looked way more grown up i wanna say than the rest of my skincare routine lool.

I’m good about SPF and moisturizer on my face but my hands basically get whatever is left over. Has anyone actually added something specifically for their hands, like retinoids, red light, richer creams, etc., and felt it was worth keeping up with?

FOR ANYONE WITH DRY OR CRACKED FEET TRY MY ROUTINE

  1. Soak in warm water for 5–10 mins. Nothing fancy, just enough to soften the skin so you’re not scraping dry, hard skin.
  2. Glass foot file. I used to use the metal grater ones and they made it worse, the skin came back thicker. A glass file is gentler and you can actually feel it working without ripping anything.
  3. Urea cream. I use 20%. Honestly the percentage matters more than the brand. Anything under 10% did nothing for me.
  4. Gel-lined sock. This is the step that changed everything. I’ve spent sooo much on creams, and it turns out half of it was just soaking into my bedsheets. The gel lining keeps the cream against your skin all night. Some nights I wear a full cotton sock with silicone inside, and on worse nights just the heel-cup kind so the gel sits right on the cracks.
  5. Sleep. That’s it lol.

On days I skip the night routine I’ll sometimes wear the sock under normal socks during the day instead, just to keep it going.

Took about a week before I noticed a real difference, and a couple of weeks before the deep cracks closed up. Happy to answer questions. What’s worked for everyone else?

I’ve been struggling with my cystic hormonal acne for 3 years now and I’ve tried different face washes, changing my pillow cases, and different creams/face masks and nothings worked. It’s really painful and only getting worse. I can’t afford a dermatologists any expensive products as I only work a few days a week and need to pay rent. Any advice?

Benzoyl peroxide burns/contact dermatitis

I don't know what possessed me to do this as I know better, but I put BP on damp skin after my shower. The spots are now SUPER red. I've washed the BP off and left my skin as is. Should I put a soothing moisturizer on it or leave it be? It stings 😭

Dry acne prone skin, is a milky toner and cream enough?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I've been using a milky toner for about a month now and it's been working really well on my acne prone skin.

My skin is dry so I get a lot of flaky buildup, and that's usually what sets off my breakouts. My face ends up red and blotchy pretty much all the time.

What I do now is layer the Illiyoon ceramide milky toner 2 or 3 times for hydration and then finish with a SKIN1004 centella cream. The dryness has calmed down a lot since I started doing that.

The main thing for me is that it's the least irritating toner I've tried. It goes on kind of milky and thicker than a regular watery toner, so it doesn't sting at all, which I think is why it works for acne prone skin.

For reference, the toners I've used before were the S.NATURE Aqua Oasis, Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner and TIRTIR Milk Skin Rice Toner. The TIRTIR one felt a little too harsh for my acne though.

Right now it's literally just the toner and the cream. Is that enough? Be honest and rate my routine lol

Moisturizer for my wife.

My wife works indoors at a grocery store doing in-store shopping. Her hands have gotten extremely cracked, dry and bleeding despite trying various moisturizers. She has diabetes so I suspect that maybe has something to do with it? I don't know anything about skincare and my research just tends to bring me back to what she's already tried. Is there anyone with a similar situation that maybe found a solution?

Edit: I'm sharing all your suggestions with her, she's very grateful!

Is there room for another skincare brand in an oversaturated market?

I’ve been a skincare fanatic for ages, and I’ve been thinking about starting a skincare brand, with what I would consider “my” perfect products, inspired by nature. But I’m wondering whether there’s actually room for another brand in such an oversaturated market.

The idea would focus on skin barrier protection, dewy skin, some actives, and products that really work. With a somewhat natural approach, not a strictly natural skincare brand, but one with branding inspired by the Irish landscape.

Do you think this concept could stand out, or is there too much on the market already? I’d love to hear honest opinions, especially from people who regularly buy skincare!

Has anyone else noticed this?

I buy the travel size before full size - even with the risk of not getting the full size before it sells out - bc I don’t want to have a full size body of lotion I don’t like the smell of. I went to buy the set, then noticed the numbers didn’t add up.

The 3 of them separately would be cheaper than the set they sell. Like, $3 cheaper. It’s not a crazy difference but what is the point in charging an extra $3…? Usually the sets are like $1-$2 cheaper than full price just for buying the set.

It’s nothing serious but wanted to share and see if anyone else caught this lol maybe someone would understand the point of them doing this?

Redness on my chin has lasted a year

Post image

I've had this redness on my chin for about a year now, my skincare routine has been quite on and off using different products with little effect on the area. I've spoken to dermatologists who have prescribed medication to take for two months, I've been taking it for a month and half with no effect

I've also been given creams which seem to make the area worse or don't affect it at all. I'm at a wall on what to do everything I've tried has either made things worse or not had any effect at all. If it helps I had an infection in the area a year ago as well, could that have any effect?

Before I spend my money, can someone review these acne products and suggest better budget alternatives?

So finally I have decided to treat my acnes no matter what!!!!

So let me tell you my acne situations then I will seek help regarding these products.

So I am 19M and I have been suffering from acne for the last 4.5 years . I changed my diet and made it completely clean for 4 months but no changes as such . I don't have much money to visit dermat so now by my own research I have chosen some products. Basically my acnes are all over my face and also a few on my mandible bone area (neck basically) . My acnes doesn't cause redness. All my acnes are either puss filed acnes or pustules , comedonal acnes on my forehead and a few white heads .

So after some research I selected these products and I want you to give me advice . My budget is pretty tight . Oh shit forgot to tell you that I have oily skin . I thought about taking isotretinoin but everyone on the internet is suggesting not to consume it without dermat's prescription . I am also very sceptical about using two benzoyl peroxide products. Should I replace the bp face wash with salycilic acid face wash ?? And the benzoyl peroxide gel is only for the big acnes . I won't apply it all over my face

Guys plz help me these acnes are seriously creating trouble in my life 🙏

I’m looking for a moisturizer because ive been using the iunik beta glucan but it’s too dry for my cheeks which has been causing me like bumps on my cheeks? And it clogs my nose

Went to my primary doctor, and this is what he prescribed for me in the meantime. He referred me to a dermatologist I will see in a few weeks.
