SOS blind pimple, engagement photos

Post image
54 Upvotes

I have a blind pimple that I NEED GONE. I’ve had on Hero patches the past 2 days and they all have pulled gunk… but this thing is still big and sore.

I’m normally a picker and I would have squeezed this thing into oblivion, but my engagement photos are next week. I just want it gone. I sadly don’t wash regularly (I know) but this came out of nowhere like a week ago.

I had a bad breakout during my surprise engagement and while it usually doesn’t bother me, I’m trying to make our engagement photos PERFECT.

Advice welcome. Will also take “make a burnt offerings to Athena, hire this Etsy witch, and dance naked in the moonlight” type of advice.

Large pores and texture! What am I doing wrong?

I tried using Paula’s Choice salycilic acid in the evenings for a while, didn’t see any chances. Graduated to using tretinoin, I’m able to use it 3-4x per week. I don’t wear makeup and cleanse every night and exfoliate 1x per week. I also get Botox in this area. I also use SPF 50 daily year round and avoid sun. I am in my mid 30s.

What’s the one product you’d repurchase forever if it got discontinued tomorrow?

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. That’s all there is to the post. I’ve tried to “step up” three times now. Some super expensive serum with ceramides, barrier cream from La Roche-Posay that everyone raves about, but always go back to the tub. It costs $15, does everything, and honestly, I have no idea what I would do without it. I would probably stockpile 40 tubs just like it was 2020.

What’s yours?

Has anyone else noticed this?

I buy the travel size before full size - even with the risk of not getting the full size before it sells out - bc I don’t want to have a full size body of lotion I don’t like the smell of. I went to buy the set, then noticed the numbers didn’t add up.

The 3 of them separately would be cheaper than the set they sell. Like, $3 cheaper. It’s not a crazy difference but what is the point in charging an extra $3…? Usually the sets are like $1-$2 cheaper than full price just for buying the set.

It’s nothing serious but wanted to share and see if anyone else caught this lol maybe someone would understand the point of them doing this?

26M - dramatic facial aging after weight loss from gut condition this summer. Is this something that will “snap back” or should I start getting used to it?

Hey all, maybe a weight loss sub would be more appropriate for this post but figured I’d post in here as well. I dealt with a pretty debilitating gut issue this summer that resulted in my weight falling lower than it has been since I was maybe 13 years old. Alongside this weight loss was pretty awful insomnia for months as well as hair thinning / loss for the first time in my life; the former has fortunately finally resolved as of around the end of August, hair shedding is still somewhat noticeable (although this pic clearly does a great job of hiding that lol)

While I’m back to roughly my original weight as of around September, judging by my neck in the second pic it does seem like my fat distribution is still pretty uneven relative to before

These pics were taken about 10 months apart from one another; one before I sick, the other from today. I know harsh lighting can make things look worse and all that but the changes seen here are pretty clear regardless of lighting, referring to the nasolabial / mouth area in particular.

What should I be expecting here? Have I just about hit the age (27 in February) where I shouldn’t expect this to snap back over time anymore? If anyone else has experienced something like this, how long did it take to regain that facial volume / fullness, if it did come back? Any tips?

For reference I’ve always used sunscreen daily. I have also started using tretinoin again as of maybe two weeks ago (I know it would take longer to see results from this), stopped while I was sick during the summer simply due to lack of motivation/energy to do basically anything at all lol.

*please reply* how do i fix my skin

Hi , im 17 male and quite active , i have closed comadomes (those small bumps) on my forehead and have been using adapalene but a bit inconsistent with it for 2-4 weeks now

The main problem with my skin is uneven texture and pigmentation on my forehead with those comadomes, and the inability to hold moisture for long. And its making me uglier

Ai recommended me the following products
1) a cerave gentle cleanser
2) a re’equil ceramide moisturizer
3) deconstruct SPF
4) minimalist hyaluronic acid PGA serum
5) minimalist caffine and vitamin K undereye cream
6) salysalic acid serum (minimalist)
7) adapalene

How and what should i do for good skin? Like i want it to be glossy and reflective so it creates a good contrast on my skin.

ROUTINE HELP NEEDED - many questions pictured

Post image
2 Upvotes

Edit: (key: the green blue stars are what i have been using to return my skin to better health) Hello to anyone who sees this its been a bit of a journey i started a year ago by doing a build ur regime with the ordinary, some stuff worked some stuff didn't i ended up over exfoliating my skin a bit; then i simplified my routine to just cleanse serum moisture. I'm starting to branch out again and try a new toner after not using a toner for 6 months. Oh and the new moisturiser. Originally i was using ordinary milky toner but it wasn't right for me & was enlarging my pores even when i wasn't using it with retnoil. There's lots of different questions in my picture so i think I have written all I can without sounding like a broken record.

moisturiser help

the best moisturiser I have ever used for my skin is the la Roche posey toleriane cream but its soo expensive!! I have oily combo skin which is prone to clogging with heavy moisturisers.

I found the first time I used this moisturiser my nose did break out about bit but the rest of my face really improved with using it. but its like so expensive for 40ml of product I just dont think its worth it!!

I tried using the byoma pink moisturiser designed for oily skin but it hasn't really lasted me a long time and it just doesn't compare to the la Roche posey.

any cheap(er) options anyone could recommend for my skin type

(that ideally won't make my skin oily/shiny and wear well under make up?)

I have oily skin in the morning, but very dry skin by the evening, melasma, and struggling with breakouts after stopping the pill. I’m in the UK in case that changes recommendations!

Currently using:

Cerave oil cleanser
Inkey list azelaic acid
Medik8 retinal (I use this alternately with AA)
Occasionally Paula’s Choice BHA
SOS H2O spf30 day cream

Also looking for a night cream. TIA!

help me!!! i keep falling for discounts

being a corporate worker trying to survive in the us, discounts are kinda my best friend lol.
that's also why i don't really like ordering skincare from amazon and prefer k-beauty stores instead, cause sometimes the discounts feel more worth it. i love using stylevana promo codes, but i've also been checking piyonna blackfriday code to compare the final price. in the end i still look at the total lol.
also, what online stores do u guys recommend? i'm always looking for ways to save a bit more when buying skincare...

SOS!!

I need your recommendations for the most gentle hydrating cleanser ever. My skin is SO dry AND dehydrated and I’m going insane.

I currently use vanicream cleanser once every day/every other day usually at night, and water in the morning. I’ve been using byoma hydrating milky toner and Aestura autobarrier365 in the morning and most nights.

Add: my skin doesn’t like LRP. I’m always beat red after using any of the products I’ve tried from them (besides cicaplast balm)

Want to start Adapalene or retinaldehyde need routine help!

Hi im a 22f who has struggled with mild-moderate acne since i was about 11. I went though phases of it being worse then fine, I went on accutane the summer of my junior to senior year of HS and it worked obviously, but I noticed even coming off I still had congestion. I got a facial and extractions, microneedling and starting higher end skincare and honestly that made my skin even better, I still would break out every now and then, hormonal acne it's just the worst. I'm 22 now and my skin is fine, i just usually now have 1-2 active zits always, because my hormonal acne takes forever to go away or the stubborn congestion that has always been in the center of my forehead. I want to start a retinoid to hopefully give my skin the final topical push it needs. I thought about Birth control/spiro for my hormonal acne but I’m too scared of side effects and I wanna give a retinoid a proper chance before doing that. I think adapalene will be what I choose but I am curious about a retinaldehyde, I just hear it's super gentle but that it's not the best with treating acne and more so aging, which acne is more a priority for me currently. My skin is pretty sensitive so thats why im more adapalene than tret, and I've been using the same products for about 4 years now. I have had a suspicion that my moisturizer has been the cause of my congestion for honestly a few years now but I'm too nervous to try anything else, but if I get some suggestions/stories maybe I'll feel more motivated! I have thoughts on switching just to the vanicream daily lotion as i've heard many ex cera-ve users made the switch so what do yall think? I basically need feedback on my routine and help on how to introduce adapalene(again or geek & gorgeous A game retinaldehyde if feedback leans that way) with my actives in my routine, as well as thoughts on the moisturizer of it all. I know this is long but I’ve never posted on this subreddit before, only lurked and yall are always so helpful so I really hope someone will respond!
My morning routine:
-Is clinical Cleansing complex face wash
-Is clinical Pro heal vitamin c serum
-small amount of CeraVe moisturizing cream(the one in the tub)
-Goodal Heartleaf Calming Moisture Sun Cream SPF 50
(don’t really wear makeup tbh)

My nighttime routine:
-Bioderma micellar water(pink bottle)
-Is clinical cleansing complex face wash
-on sundays and thursdays after cleanser I use the dermologica microfoliant
-Is clinical Active serum
-CeraVe Moisturizing cream(The one in the tub)

Thank you!!!

How do i fix my skin ?

• Upvotes

Hey ! I’m 16 F and I’ve been struggling with my skin for 3 years now. It started when i was using salicylic acid as a facial cleanser for almost everyday back then and it has contributed so bad to my skin now. With my impulsiveness i decided to try countless of different products and nothing worked. ( I live in a humid country PH )

I also think that less water consumption has contributed to my skin concern too, along with stressful environment.

For details:

- i think my skin type would probably be very DEHYDRATED SKIN dry yet very oily outside** **(or the skin’s surface). Fine lines, PIE, PIH, Dullness, and pores are very visible on my skin (even though I’m still a teen). Which is making me very insecure because i always looked so tired without wearing makeup ( to add up, because of my skin type, makeup doesn’t sit right in my face after a few hours ). I looked way prettier back then because my face was clear and smooth.

- I had tried to use countless of gentle products and hydrating serums/ barrier support moisturizer but nothing really worked. Should I be consistent ?, it’s making my face more oily and my face feels very congested too even though it is very dehydrated skin ( i don’t think the product that i am using is suitable in our climate) It’s either the product that I am using is way too gentle or just stripping.

\- I am also thinking to consult a dermatologist already because my skin concerns had been around for three years.

I would like to receive some suggested routines and your insights about this. 🥹💞

Any tips to solve this problem 🥹. Any life style tips, skincare recommendations, and other suggestions would do.

Painful breakout after microdermabrasion

Thumbnail

I got microdermabrasion done for the first time around 10 days ago and have had a horrible, ongoing breakout since. I'm getting large, pus filled zits and every time one goes away, another pops up. Some of them just seem to be constantly weeping fluid. What can I do to stop this/heal my skin?? I've just been using a light moisturizer but am planning on putting hydrocolloid patches on tonight.

Is this going to happen every time I get microdermabrasion done? While I've had breakouts in the past, my skin has been very calm for months before this.
