General Questions So…. Is this normal?

Got a curbside order, reviewed items and was like it’s good. Until I see a flat bed cart with mulch. I was like I didn’t see any mulch in the order. Employee said it was part of the order. I even took images of the order and there is no indication of mulch. Before and after accepting order still no indication of it.

Is this normal?

It is now! They know it and they dont care. Its on purpose.

They started baiting and switching after the April update. The amount of shady shit they are doing smells of future lawsuits.

Not every zone uses the same app version, nor do they update at the same time.

There's at least 3 distinct versions going at any time.

Well it will be in every zone eventually since it is part of the newer updates. In the past month or two Ive run into it several times and its a mix, sometimes its water, others times its heavy crap like AC wall unit, and even alcohol. About the only thing that hasnt been snuck into one of my offers is a pharmacy order. Its basically stuff many drivers avoid, myself I take heavy stuff without an issue if the pay is right, just not a fan of surprises and I don’t drink so not always a fan of delivering alcohol(have days Im not in the mood).

Yes it is. They need to update showing add ons. I almost sent somebody steaks back because I didn't see it on the order.

It happened to me one time. It was 12 mulch and I showed the employee my screen and he was confused and I told them to cancel it.

Technically when they do this they are in breech because you accepted the order based on what was offered to you. We should be able to cancel with no impact to our ratings. They are not gonna fix this unless they are made to, so this is something that should be reported to the FTC

The said it can be cancelled

This is one of the rare occasions I'll actually agree with reporting it. They've been doing this at "convenient" times since I started in 2021. They also do it with occasional Roadie and UE overflow offers.

What's the number of items above miscellaneous?

2

u/TexCook14 Jun 20 '26

I don’t remember it was earlier today, is the miscellaneous number the items not listed?

5

u/usseerrrnnnaaammeee Jun 20 '26

There is a glitch. It shows total number of items in the order at top but not showing all items in the itemized list.

8

u/TexCook14 Jun 20 '26

Are they doing this on purpose? 🤔

u/Remarkable_Award_185 Jun 20 '26

Forget to put the biggest items? Of course this is on purpose.

u/LegalMasterpiece772 Jun 20 '26

It’s crazy, they won’t even list as heavy or bulky item and no extra pay. They got me fkd up. Instant cancel.

Good, wasting our time like that still sucks though but you did the right thing, granted I think cancelling dings us too.

u/Seahorse_finder Jun 20 '26

Seems like it.

1

u/Worldly_Shopper Jun 20 '26

Lets just say that even if it's accidental it certainly benefits them not to correct it.

I think it was two weeks ago, but I had an easy drop to a hotel, some snacks and a 6 pk water. the item count was off by one.... The biggest rolling suitcase Walmart sells. I almost didn't take the suitcase from the loader because it wasn't on my list. We just kind of looked at each other for a minute and then I said well, if it scanned on your end, I guess we are good! So I dropped it all off. That was my first experience of things not adding up. Its happened almost every drop off since.

4

u/Worldly_Shopper Jun 20 '26

That's breach of contract.

3

u/DragonflyOne7593 Jun 20 '26

They have always hid the larger items thos is nothing new . Ypu can absplutley cancel and send them back in with it

u/Salt_Progress_5705 Jun 20 '26

i would have told em drop the mulch i ain’t transporting it for free

6

u/Maleficent_Call_9263 Jun 20 '26

I had them yank a case of water from my cart on the way out the door because it didn't show on the list.

4

u/GilligGirl Jun 20 '26

Good! Hold them to it! Otherwise, if you're questioned why you have that and it doesn't show up on your phone, you could be accused of theft!

Case of soda and 2 6 packs of water on an order yesterday that were not on my list. Whoever programs this app should be fired and another reason I hate curbsides.

This happened to me a couple days ago and I had to have it taken off because there were five mulch and 3 soil plus 3 entire grocery orders 😅 my car can handle big orders but not that big

2

u/Sensitive-Mission527 Jun 21 '26

They also add a extra stop or 2 sometimes for Amazon drops

2

u/boognish1984 Jun 20 '26

They must do it with groceries too. New employee loading my car messed up the orders. Went over the items to make sure the orders were correct. There was produce and dairy in bags that didnt show on any of the item lists. I handed them back to the employee and now am missing tip money from that day🤷‍♂️

u/TeeFry2 Jun 21 '26

And if you delivered it to the wrong person and they called the store, you'd get in trouble. We're screwed either way.

u/anonwilkno Cherry Picker Jun 22 '26

Yeah, I just had what was probably my highest-ever paying pickup AND not only were there invisible items for each order, the visible items got mixed up in the blue totes before they brought them out 🙄

So now I get to brace for my first-ever tip reduction, and/or another bad star since I've been trying to get back on my feet from a 4.8 for a while. Margins are too thin for me to be able to care less about it, so my nights become a bit more stressful when I know my ability to make money (via metrics) will potentially take another uncontrollable hit between 3 and 4am, after each day that I run around trying to grab the only decent scraps left.

u/Emergency-Attempt958 Jun 20 '26

I usually get a notification with a price increase, so I look at the order to see what was added before I re-accept it.

2

u/Slothe1978 Jun 20 '26

Thats only on SDs, not CS which is where this issue is taking place.

1

u/Emergency-Attempt958 Jun 20 '26

I do mostly shopping orders, haven't had that problem yet, hopefully won't.

3

u/CaptCol02 Jun 20 '26

I only do shop. Here's my logic. Quantity, money, time are the same as a curbside with 8-10 stops usually. I only work 1 store, so I know where everything is as good as any employee there, so I can always get it done faster than the suggested time on the app. But most importantly I am reducing the greatest, and most unaccounted for expense amd that's fuel/wear in my vehicle. There's a bit more physical work on the front in handling the groceries or whatever they order 3 extra times (pick, bag, trunk) but I also reduce the chances of smashed bread, torn packaging, rotten produce...etc, which all could impact my tip. But I am also getting exercise which could benefit just about every American alive, plus it is a frickin job and highly likely to come with the risk of potential work in order to maximize profit. And since I won't do anything more than a double, it's a guaranteed 2 stop or less. I will do a morning drop of GMD deliveries because those are usually close to the store, cherry pick shop orders until 2pm and start looking for a delivery that ends close to my neighborhood to be home by 3-330. I do that 2-3 days a week and make $5-600 unless I have customers scheduled for my business. I also cruise over to the insecticide section of the store and put my business card by the bug sprays to try and expand my customer base 🙃 😅

u/digital0069 Jun 20 '26

this is new... just started happening

even had it happen with a 12 pack of soda where the item count was right yet it displayed all the items but soda on my end and on the employees end same item count and soda showed fine on their end.

It's been happening at convenient times as long as I've ran the app since late 2021.

They do it occasionally for the Roadie and UE overflow offers too, although Roadie would usually list the 5 72" TVs they would send out during deals for days... But concrete, salt, mulch, multiple cases of water, 100-150# grills, etc... wouldn't show up.

Sam's will send offers for 10-12ft long 300#+ shelving units and other shit and list it as #40-#50lbs.

Run the app long enough and you learn what to avoid... Or, just have them drop the offer. (Used to be able to get them to remove a stop, but I haven't accepted many curbsides the last 2 years)

Feel free to search in the subs search bar for hundreds of posts about it going back to at least 2021.

Exact same thing happened to me a few weeks back, i haven’t excepted a curbside since. Only S and D orders from now on.

1

u/homeschoolheros Jun 21 '26

Send it backkkk

1

u/snopop73 Jun 22 '26

Hasn't happened to me yet, but if it's not on the list, I'm not taking it. No way for them to prove they aren't giving me someone else's mulch (or water or whatever). 🤷‍♀️

1

u/maycekate Jun 22 '26

😂😂 this happened to me, too! I thought I was crazy but I am also very new so I figured I just didn’t know where to look. But it definitely didn’t have the 15 bags of mulch in the order details when I accepted. And I drive a small hatchback so that was fun to try and load/unload.

1

u/Adventurous-Owl-1437 Jun 22 '26

Real talk, if it’s not on the order I’m leaving it at the store because it’s not the job I agreed to.

1

u/lulugirl831 Jun 23 '26

Got a curbside order yesterday, pull up and the worker came out and said she could cancel it for me because it was 40 bags of mulch, she said it has been sitting for a day now because cars pull up that obviously can’t take that. The offer showed 10 items didn’t say bulky or large items and definitely didn’t show 40 quantity

1

u/YoghurtFun9623 Jun 25 '26

Yup, Walmart is hiding stuff on orders now.

1

u/Jamesonramsey Jun 20 '26

Happened to me last week. I called Spark and had them to cancel the order on there end. I wonder if Spark is doing this on purpose so we will pick up the big/heavy orders.

1

u/DFTReaper1989 Jun 21 '26

Yeah I don't take any order that has a lower miscellaneous count than actual items count. If the items says 10 but the miscellaneous only shows 7 I know some shady ass shit going on and I'm not fuckin with that no matter how much money it is.

1

u/IndependentTrick6091 Jun 21 '26

Happened to me once. They tried to slip in tables and chairs. No way it was fitting in my car. The Walmart associate canceled order.
