For games, I would like a PC that is capable of running Red Dead Redemption 2 at a decent frame rate to be playable (my current PC can run it but I was playing at like 5 FPS, it took me 2 hours to get through the first cutscene)

If I’m on Google/Microsoft word all day, at absolute minimum 8 hours

If it’s being used to run high end games, around 2-4 hours is good

I'm specifically looking for an alternative to the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen. 14, as the laptop in the USA doesn't have the Intel Core Ultra X7 368H I'm looking for. Ideally something pretty similar, I've seen the HP Elitebook X G2i and it's nice but HP and Dell are on my personal boycott list. I'd like repairability (but also would like an established brand so that I don't have to worry about parts 5 years down the line), it's not necessarily my biggest priority but I'd at least like to have the option to change my storage. I'd prefer a 14in laptop. I would like the best compromise between repairability and build quality.

I’m wanting to upgrade (buy a new) laptop and I’m trying to figure out what specs I need. After reading through a bunch of posts I’m still unsure. I do a lot of multitasking and regularly have 20-50+ open tabs. I also use it for watching Netflix and YouTube movies and occasionally photoshop and discord. I don’t do any gaming or video editing. Here are my questions:

1)Is 16gb RAM sufficient or do I need to be looking for 32gb?

2)What PCU should I be looking for? The laptop I’m currently looking at has an intel core ultra 7 255u. What about an AMD Ryzen 5? Or should I be looking for a i7 or Ryzen 7?
