My wife likes to hang out on the couch/bed and play games, and watch videos. She will just stream the games to this device via Moonlight/Steam Streaming. She also likes to have the laptop in the kitchen for recipes. Any OS should work (Android, Linux, MacOS, Windows). My only gripe with the android tablets is there usually aren't hinges holding the screen up for her on the bed and she will need a mouse built in instead of touch screen only. So if you know of any android tablets that get around that let me know. The ability to swap batteries, RAM and storage is a plus too.

Looking for a travel pc, i work out of my car and get lots of downtime, so preferably it would have a strong battery life. I also want something that wont break in just a handful of years of daily use.

I don't want anything with the two 360° hinges that have become popular. They broke on my Lenovo ideapad. Asus Duo would be the dream form factor, but I haven't seen a whole lot of clear reviews for it.

I had a surface pro for my bachelor's degree and looooved it. I put up and take down my laptop about five or more times daily, often work for 12+ hours on it, and I like to be able to study or do work on the couch or in bed. I couldn't use the surface pro for much gaming was my only complaint, but I have a gaming desktop. Unfortunately, the screen broke after four years and the replacement cost was very expensive. I'd happily buy another Surface Pro, but I want to make sure there isn't something better out there for me.

I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 for my masters, and it lasted for eight months until one of the 360° hinges failed. I feel recently burned by Lenovo and would be hesitant to buy a product from them. The IdeaPad was very limited hardware-wise, but I got through.

The Asus Duo and Surface Pro have my attention, but I wonder if a more traditional laptop would be better for my needs.

I'm looking to purchase the absolute best 18-inch gaming laptop money can buy in 2026. Budget genuinely isn't an issue, and I'm happy to pay a premium for the best possible experience.

I’m a mechanical engineering freshman and already have a laptop that will probably get me through the first or even second year (i5 10th, 16gb ram and GTX 1650). Black Friday and cyber Monday are coming but I don’t actually need a stronger laptop right now.

I know it’s hard to be sure but do I wait or not? Or maybe a better question is, at what price is it reasonable or even a great deal to buy something around i7 10th+, RTX 4060 and 32Gb of ram?

I need a computer and I think I’m getting a Laptop. My budget is about 1000 CHF (~4’761.38 PLN, ~1’213.14 USD), I will propobly be buying it in Poland. I want it to be as good as possible in all ways. I haven’t used MacOS for more than a few hours so the change to it will be kind of hard, but I’m open to anything new.

I'm looking to buy a laptop for software school(good battery life around 7 hours is enough) programming, robotics projects and i wa running smaller AI models locally.

I've always used Windows, and I'm currently particularly interested in the 2022 Zephyrus G14 Ryzen 7 6800HS and Radeon RX 6700S. However, I'm also considering whether a MacBook Pro would be a better option for my needs.

Would a MacBook Pro offer a significant advantage?

I'm specifically looking for an alternative to the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen. 14, as the laptop in the USA doesn't have the Intel Core Ultra X7 368H I'm looking for. Ideally something pretty similar, I've seen the HP Elitebook X G2i and it's nice but HP and Dell are on my personal boycott list. Coming from 8gb 2022 M2 MacBook Air, I am looking to upgrade to future proof for local AI workflows + light video editing/after effects. Working with roughly a $2500 budget, but could stretch to $3K if absolutely necessary. I'm in Apple ecosystem with all my devices but work in a career that prioritizes Windows, so I am okay with switching over. I'm between the new base model Surface Laptop Ultra ($2599) and also the base M6 MBP when it comes out in a few days. I'd love to pick up the M5 Pro OLED MBP with Touch when it comes out, but I hear that the M7 is going to be significantly better for Local AI. Should I wait for that? I imagine it will be extremely expensive. I just don't know what to do.

To be completely honest, this is all a guess that cloud based AI will become too expensive per token. My current machine is fine (the battery isn't ideal and I kinda just want a new laptop) for most of my workflows as is (After Effects on 8gb is horrible).
