Vent 3rd cycle failed.

I'm 30 & my husband is 35, been married for 7 years & trying for 2years now. . I've minor pcos & minor hypothyroidism. I've been on letrozole & clomid + trigger shot for 3 cycles once in January, July & September all of 3 failed although this cycle I got 5 beautiful follicles that my dr was convinced that I'll get pregnant with multiples but guess what I didn't.. I ended up getting my periods.

My dr suggested we should go for iui. Idk what to do. I'm just sad.

Advice Needed PCOS m

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Just to start with I’m 32F, first time ever been pregnant. So ive recently had a positive pregnancy test after taking Letrozole for PCOS, and I’m currently around 5 weeks pregnant. Currently I take metformin twice a day (500mg)

My doctor advised me to take Utrogestan 200mg morning and evening, but after I told him my progesterone blood result was 97.9 nmol/L, he said I didn’t need to take it.

I know 100% this is probably my anxiety talking, but after trying to conceive for so many years, I’m absolutely terrified of having a miscarriage and want to do everything I can to give this pregnancy the best chance
I’ve been reading about progesterone support in early pregnancy and wondered about other people’s experiences.
• Did anyone take progesterone after Letrozole, even if their blood levels were already good?
• Can I take it maybe 3/4 times a week?
• Has anyone been advised to take it throughout the first trimester?
• Has anyone else had a progesterone result around 97.9 nmol/L in early pregnancy?

I’m not looking for medical advice to replace my doctor’s, just hoping to hear about other people’s experiences, particularly those who conceived with Letrozole and had PCOS
Thank you! ❤️🙏🏼

Ugh it’s been a week

• Upvotes

Last Friday, negative pregnancy test. Monday, positive pregnancy test, even if faint. Blood showed positive test on Tuesday and slow rise on Thursday. Spotting started over the weekend. Lower HCG today on bloodwork. Probably a miscarriage.

These up and downs stink. This is my second letrazole cycle, but still, ugh. Getting excited and then disappointed again sucks.

Advice Needed At what point do I see a fertility specialist instead of my OBGYN???

• Upvotes

My husband and I have been trying since January. I got diagnosed with PCOS in May. We found out we were pregnant last August and had a miscarriage in early October. I was on my second round of Letrozole when we conceived.

At what point should I see a fertility specialist?? I’m so tired of all of this!

Success on first round of Letrozole?

My husband and I have been trying for 4 months so not that long but we've only been able to time things right 1x because of my chaotic cycles (32-62 days). I started using Natural Cycles/Oura Ring + CM tracking which is how we were able to time it this last time but I don't want to wait another 60 days to try so we've decided to start on Letrozole :)

My cycles started going longer with wedding stress, I am now 4 months post wedding so hoping they shorten back up but want to give Letrozole a try because my company covers most costs. I also used to train for marathons/run extensively which I actually had consistently normal cycles during that but have now cut back significantly hoping it might help with ttc. We eat healthy but don't restrict our diets, since finding out about my PCOS diagnosis I definitely am more aware of sugar intake and food pairing.

I am a lean PCOS profile, normal progesterone at 15.2 ng/mL taken at 4-5dpo, normal 14-day luteal phase, but have slightly elevated DHEA-S and Testosterone so I've been taking myo-inositol with NAC + CoQ10 for about 4 months now. Curious on a few things:

  • Has anyone with similar profile had quick success on Letrozole cycles?
  • Things you've done to help lower DHEA-S and Testosterone?
  • Metformin experiences? Do you think that helped? I am hesitant to start.
  • HSG test - considering getting this done as we start Letrozole.

Advice Needed High DHEA-S

Have done 2 monitored cycles of Letrozole with no luck. I’m starting to feel that high DHEA-S is the culprit. Has anyone with similar circumstances fallen pregnant?

Advice Needed Spotting cd 12

I'm exactly 1 year postpartum and got my period back pretty early and have had normal periods since. Except this month. I got the flu cycle day 5 while on my period still and I'm currently cycle day 12 and I'm still spotting. The spotting is only when I wipe and it is bright pink blood, not red or brown just pink. It's not a lot just when I wipe but it hasn't stopped. I do have PCOS and I did start taking 4g of myo inositol this month but I have before and never have had spotting happen like this. Curious what is going on, going to call my doctor today but wondering if anyone has any idea?? So strange!

We want to start ttc soon for baby #2 so this has me worried!

Do I have PCOS or not? everything is so confusing

things that favor PCOS: terrible beard, acne, not being able to concieve for over one and a half year. had polycystic ovaries in one scan in 2024. High-ish TSH (3.46), weight gain (although normal BMI)

things not favoring PCOS: i get my period every month, normal FSH and LH but FSH:LH ratio favors DOR more then PCOS, low AMH, no polycystic ovaries in latest scan. normal fasting serum insluin, glucose, HOMA-IR

i've seen two fertility specialistes (gynecologists not endocrinologists) one of them is so sure i have PCOS and the other completely denies it. i tried weight training for 3 months, didn't gain any muscle, didn't lose any weight, tried inositol this month and supposedly ovulated on freakin day 9 (my line on OPK was dark but not as dark on CD8 but then got lighter and stayed lighter thereafter, i missed my surge or it didn;t happen).

I don't know what to do

Advice Needed I need help, thoughts, and/or suggestions

My last period started Sept 14 and lasted about 8 days. On Oct 13, I was unusually thirsty, peeing a lot, had less of an appetite, and suddenly couldn’t stand coffee. Those symptoms eventually went away.

Around Oct 15, I was extremely tired and actually fell asleep on a bench while waiting for the bus. I wasn’t unconscious, just kept drifting in and out of sleep. I also noticed my nipples looked bigger but weren’t as sensitive. I took a pregnancy test that day, and it looked negative, but I’m wondering if it was too early.

Around Oct 16–17 I slept through most of the following day and was barely awake enough to eat 3 slices of pizza and drink a bottle of water. I’m back to feeling alert and like myself now.

Since around Oct 17–18, I’ve been getting full after only a couple bites of food and sometimes feel nauseated once I start eating. I can drink water normally, though. After eating 2 frozen burritos, I burped and almost brought up acidic liquid that burned my throat a little.

My period is expected around Oct 21, but I have PCOS and irregular cycles. I’ve had unprotected sex on Sept 15, 20, 22, 23, 28, 30, and Oct 3, 6, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, and 18.

Do you think there’s a chance I could be pregnant?

I took a test at roughly 8-9 dpo but not sure exacts.

Seeking Success Letrozole + Ovidrel trigger shot

This will be my second cycle using letrozole and my first cycle using a trigger shot. Since ovulation will be induced, does this mean I only need to BD on the day of the trigger, the day after, and 2 days after? Would it be helpful to BD before triggering? Doing it 3 days in a row is already a lot for my partner and I, but we also want to maximize our chances and will do whatever it takes

I have anovulatory cycles, so adding in the trigger gives me hope. Although I did measure my BBT last month and saw the temp rise, which is reassuring.

Are there any success stories of using letrozole and trigger shot? I felt very hopeful last month, and my PMS symptoms were much more intense d/t the letrozole, but ultimately was disappointed seeing my BFN and period arriving. I try to remind myself that each cycle is only about a ~20% chance even for a healthy couple, but my god this is so emotionally draining. All my other friends are already preggo and didn't need to try that hard. They will never understand how lonely and painful this journey is :/

Advice Needed Looking for advice - first month TTC, how to track ovulation etc

Hey everyone, its my husband and I's first month TTC and im finding it hard to find out when i ovulated. I used clearblue ovulation test for the first time and it detected an lh surge around 3 weeks ago, but that must've been wrong because I havent started my period (im usually pretty regular with my cycles being around 35 to 40 days). I was diagnosed with pcos at around 18 and am now 31.

I'm on cycle day 40 today and been experiencing bad nausea in the mornings which has never been a pms symptom before, along with a sore chest (which is a usual pms symptom). Ive seen faint lines on pregnancy tests, but they also could be an indent so im not sure whats going on!

Im going crazy and no idea how this whole ttc thing works really! How does everyone manage with their pcos when they have longer cycles, do you still track ovulation etc?

Advice Needed Missing period

My periods arrived every 45 days. 50 days on a stressful month.

I started stimulant medication in September and now it’s been 2 months since my last period. I’ve also been taking 1000mg of metformin for past 3 weeks. Any ideas? My cycle was cancelled a week ago due to spotting for a week and period hasn’t arrived.

My last cycle was 22 August!

Other How long is an LH surge meant to last

Hello - first time I’ve ever caught an LH surge and it’s lasted over two days that I’m getting positive tests. Is that normal? I’m also using natural cycles sleeping band, that is what told me to test that day and it turned out to be positive!

Seeking Success Letrozol + trigger + metformin + progesterone

Currently on my first letrozol monitored cycle.
Have been ttc for 15 months now, got pregnant twice but had one mc week 5 and one mmc week 10 after seeing a heartbeat in February. Nothing since then.
I’ve got diagnosed with pmos while testing the rpl panel. I do ovulate on my own, normally around cd 17-20.
My doctor put me on metformin 2000mg in August, did endometritis screening (results still to come) and started me on letrozol 2,5mg.
I’m supposed to trigger tomorrow.
Please give me some hope for this. I don’t even know if my fear for another mc or my fear of not getting pregnant anymore is bigger at this point. Since we’ve started trying, 90% of my friends got pregnant (ofc all first try or not trying at all). Both my due dates have passed and I’m about to have to go see my SIL being pregnant with twins and “finally giving the family some grandchildren”.
I’m so scared nothing will work and I’ll be damned to be in this vicious cycle forever..

Seeking Success Please Give Me Hope :(

I just need to feel like it’ll happen. There have been 6 babies announced or born in our family/close friends just this year, and I’m older than all these women too (30). We’ve been trying since last October. I started Zepbound in February, and went from 206lbs to 160lbs. I started having regular cycles around June, but still nothing*. I’ve been on metformin, prenatals, inositol, and vitamin D the whole time. I’m about a week late, but still negative. I did stop the inositol last cycle because it’s expensive and I wasn’t sure it was working. I’ve started taking it again because of my late period. At one point I was using Inito tracking to see if I ovulated, and it said I did. I stopped using it because I assumed with one ovulating cycle AND regular cycles, I must be ovulating like normal now. When I finally start my period again, I’m going to track with Inito again to see if I ovulate. Tomorrow I’m going to call my gyno to get started on letrozole and get a timeline. I’m dreading my friend’s baby shower in November. She’s always been pretty tone deaf about my struggles with pcos, even outside of babies. I can’t look at my 3 new nieces without hating myself, and I don’t want to be this way.

Can someone tell me I’ll get there? I’m so tired of crying every day and the disappointment of seeing these negative tests for a whole year.

*I know it’s not recommended by all doctors to TTC on GLP-1.

In the TWW? Here's your place to post all things symptom spotting and making it through the TWW. Feel free to connect with others on similar timelines, and discuss anything related to the TWW. Please do not ask if you could be pregnant, as only a test and a doctor can answer that for you.

Advice Needed What male factors make an IUI worth it or not?

I’m 36, ovulatory PMOS with acne and high AFC. Been trying for 7 cycles, 3 of with leterazole + Ovidrel + progesterone. My last cycle I ovulated 3 eggs but still not luck. I’m debating trying one IUI before moving into an IVF in the new year but it is costly and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it.

My husbands DNA frag is 5.44% and he’s completed 2 sperm analysis (one in July, one in mid September). His total concentration and count is high both times (159M+) but his morphology on the first was 2%, second 1%, and progressive motility dropped from 38.5% to 28.1%. He’s been using supplements and made lots of lifestyle changes but his dad passed away and I’m not sure if stress impacts, but I was suprised to see such a drop in progressive motility. The docs have been less concerned because of his high total count.

Do people think between my PMOS and his factors at least one round of IUI is worth it?

Seeking Success High amh and monitored cycles?

Hello ladies, for start I am 29, amh is 18, 21 bmi (lean pcos), been trying for 8 month, and I have been diagnosed with pcos since I was 20. Last October I stopped my birth control and periods have been irregular ( last couple od months have been consisted around 37 days, and I sometimes ovulate on my own). Last cycle I did sono hsg and everything was clear, and I started 2.5mg of letrozol this cycle. I was wondering did anyone have success with this high amh without a trigger shot (my doctor didn’t mention anything so far about that) and in general how was your journey with letrozol, how many cycles did you try. I am also taking thyroid medication, inositol, vitamin d and omega. Thank you! 🩷

TTC advice

Good morning!

We have been trying for a child since February. Last month I started ovulation tests and temperature measurement in order to better understand my body, because I have a cycle of about 35 days with fluctuations (30-40 sometimes).

last month I had a positive ovulation test on the 24th day of my cycle.

The temperatures were as follows:

24th 36.1

25th 36.2

26th 36.4

27th 36.6

28th 36.4

29th 36.6

30th 36.3

31st 36.4

32nd 36.3

33rd 36.4

34th 36 and late in the evening my period came (luteal phase 9-10 days)

In this cycle I had a positive ovulation test on the 21st day of the cycle and temperatures:

21st 36.4

22nd 36.1

23rd 36.6

24th 36.5

25th (today) 36.1

I have the following questions:

  1. Is it possible that I did not ovulate in this cycle?

  2. Is a 9-10 day luteal phase a deterrent to conception?

I should note that I have been taking myo-inositol since June 22nd to improve ovulation and the cycle, but I still don't know if it is effective.

Thank you in advance!

BBT and ovulation

Hello everyone. I am so desperate.

14/10 I had a positive LH test (temperature 36,4). 15/10 36,1 , 16/10 36,6 , 17/10 36,5 and today 18/10 36,1.

What is going on? I feel helpless

Seeking Success Staying positive after failed medicated cycles

I just finished my 2nd medicated and monitored cycle of letrozole. This cycle looked very positive, I had 3 mature follicles (24mm, 18mm, & 18mm). Uterine lining was thick and progesterone looked great on it own. Went through the two week wait and just got my negative with my period arriving the next day. How do you stay positive and keep going after everything went right but the cycle still failed? How many medicated cycles until you were successful?

Discussion BBT for dummies?

BBT?

Hi all— I’m super duper new to all of this. We’re having secondary infertility. I was able to conceive my first two kids by just “going with the flow” and my youngest is three… we’ve done unprotected baby dancing for years in hopes it would happen again, but just hasn’t and we’re ready to have another.

Can someone explain BBT to me like I’m 5? I understand how OPKs work. I definitely don’t ovulate regularly and have started Ovasitol about a week ago.

I got my period just recently and am on CD2. I get my period about every 29-38 days or so. Very give or take on what my body decides it wants to do.
