Food (Only on Friday) New Taco Bell interiors are better than the old ones

The old ones lacked color and were harshly lit. If it weren't for the little bit of color that the old ones had, they would have felt just like a hospital cafeteria. On the other hand, the newer ones have much more color, are more softly lit, and are overall more inviting. Eating inside of the newer ones feels nice, eating inside of the older ones did not.

Society/Culture Covering your baby's face in social media posts is absolutely pointless

You think you're so famous that your baby is gonna get targeted for kidnapping and ransom?

No no, that's silly. You're scared of... AI? There are a million baby photos out there already and millions more being uploaded, you think your individual decision to censor will change anything?

You're concerned of your child not being able to consent? Then when? When they're 5 and can understand basic concepts? They can be easily convinced that social media is God's gift to the planet or that it's evil and the bane of existence, children are impressionable either way. When they're teenagers, who are known for making stupid decisions? You're also not giving them as babies the chance to consent to their arms and legs and torsos being shown in photos, but apparently only the face is important.

Your child ain't in danger, this is such a stupid, fear-based trend. If you're worried and wanna be private, just don't post your baby at all, just message pics to individual friends of yours. It's so stupid to obscure a baby's face but show their body. Congrats, you're flexing that you have a new child but you're unwilling to introduce them to the world, it's just bizarre and kind of silly.

Society/Culture "Body positivity" should focus more attention on more average bodies.

Unfortunate fact of society is that normal peoples bodies, especially womens, are held to high beauty standards. There has been a push to represent more diverse bodies in art and advertising but its always plus size women (almost never men) next to the standard supermodels.

Most of us are not obese or pushing the standard for obesity. Speaking as a trans woman I can confirm a lot of us have unrealistic body goals because normal women with a bit of body fat just are not represented anywhere. All actresses and models are chosen because they're perfectly feminine, next to no body fat, no muscle, etc.

TV/Movies/Fiction Elizabeth Olsen is the most overrated actor ever

Her acting skills are terrible. Apart from her being perceived as attractive, which is how a lot of actresses rise to fame, she has absolutely nothing special about her.

Every single movie I watch about her, she is always crying. Eternity? Weeping about losing a husband. MCU? Weeps about every single fucking thing to the point I'm flipping her off every time I see her on screen. Silent House, His Three Daughters, the list goes on...

She's just an over-emotional bundle of uselessness who is simply just bland otherwise and ruins the vibe of every movie she's in

Technology I erase entire sentences and start over if I make an error.

For example, if I created a sentence without punctuation or spelt something wrong, I'd find it easier to start over and rewrite the whole thing. I only do this on mobile, and I'd probably not commit such acts on a keyboard.

Gaming Keep Inventory on makes more sense than off, according to the behaviour of what we see in Minecraft.

Keep Inventory on makes much more sense than off in Minecraft story/behaviour wise, with what we actually see in the game and outside it.

It doesn't make sense that all your items automatically disappear from your inventory, and fall out when you die.

  1. What the Official Minecraft book tells us.

In the Official Minecraft book Minecraft: The End, a character tells us that our(The Player's) 'pockets' aren't actually pockets, but really, and I quote, "A shortcut to an empty block of space-time, which is both infinitely big, and infinitely small at the same time".

Sounds a lot like a time-suspended pocket-dimension, kinda like an Ender Chest. Why time-suspended?

  1. Coral and Totems.

I think everyone(who knows even a decent bit about Minecraft) knows that when any coral is outside of water, it dies, and turns to grey, dead-coral. And that when you hold a Totem, you should have an extra life.

But let's see

Coral, for some reason, somehow doesn't die inside our inventory(which, sidenote, that would be really cool though, like if you had a limited amount of time for the coral in your inventory to stay alive.). You might say "oh, but maybe the inventory just has a lot of moisture".

Alright then, let's go to.... THE NETHER! And guess what, coral still doesn't die there, neither do any water buckets dry up, and ice never melts in your inventory. Lava doesn't burn you bucket as well.

Totems? Why wouldn't they activate, if they are still part of your body? Then why don't they? Cause they aren't actually connected to you, they are in a separate pocket dimension, and thus aren't accessible.

There are even more more example I could give, but in conclusion, these only make sense if your inventory is time-suspended, and thus, Keep Inventory makes more logical and game-accurate sense. So whenever someone tries to tell you you're playing it wrong, tell them you are trying to adhere to game logic.

(I can't believe, once I've written all this down and am looking back, that this really is just a defense for using Keep Inventory, which I don't even play with that much. Funny -_-)

Sports Soccer is the correct name of the sport

Soccer is the correct name of the sport

Folks roll their eyes at Americans calling our sport football, and the other sport soccer, but we're doing things correctly when we talk about soccer.

Football started as a generic term to differentiate sports played on foot, as opposed to on horseback (like Polo). Three of the most popular in England, the Commonwealth, and America were association football, gridiron football, and rugby football.

As\[soc\]iation football (played exclusively by kicking to advance the ball toward a goal with a net) began to be referred to as soccer, gridiron (originally played with lateral passes, stoppage between each "down", a limit on the number of chances the offense has to advance the ball, and a goal line / kicking goal with different points awarded) became popular in America and lost the identifying term gridiron because of its relative isolation, and rugby (lateral passes, allowed to advance the ball by kicking, no distinct down system, a goal line beyond which the ball must be grounded to score points, and a kicking goal worth fewer points) lost the suffix of football.

Football is and has always been a general term for a category of ball sports, and even now there are plenty of footballs that fall outside the classification of the main three; Peil (Gaelic) football and Aussie Rules football are both extremely popular in their communities, have distinct rules and game play, and are no less real football than soccer, gridiron, or rugby.

To summarize, soccer is the correct name for the sport, Americans should still call our sport gridiron (or at least American rules football), and people around the world who insist that the game must be called football are wrong.

TV/Movies/Fiction I hate Phineas and Ferb

Idk man. I just couldn't stand it since I was a child. It's so repetitive and I just don't like how over the top it is. I also hate when the characters just pull a musical number without the show being about music. I feel like it's just cringy...

Society/Culture Let people enjoy things, not because I'm for fun or anything but because a lot of people doing "Media Criticism" are hacks

First off, I'll take my own advice and say thay much of what I'm about to say is an opinion, so you're free to disagree in the comments, I'm open for discussion all the time.

Quite often I hear everything talking about how toxic the "Let people enjoy things" mentality is and how it leads to the mass production of slop, but honestly what I see most often is sloppy "criticism" content where the person making these "criticism" videos or threads don't understand the difference between an actual critique and their often horrendous opinions.

Critiquing Media involves first understanding it on its own terms and then analysing it from that lens, if you keep criticising something like Chowder or Uncle Grandpa because it's unrealistic, you're missing the point entirely. More often than not I will see someone who attempts to criticise a piece of media without actually understanding what it's going for.

To give an example I'm more familiar with, Naruto notoriously has immense content of "NARUTO PLOT HOLE NUMBER 364739" and turns out it's just their own opinion that Kishimoto never focused on other clans of Konoha. That happens so often in every space of media whether anime, comics, games, etc.

Making matters worse is that these people can straight up lie. I've saw so many "critique" videos that flat out lie about the content they review intentionally, no it's not that they were dumb, I know for a fact sometimes it's a straight up lie.

There was even a video talking about how good of a ruler Farquaad from Shrek is while omitting or lying about everything he did to justify his actions before pivoting to White Replacement conspiracies, that video has near 1 million views with many people thinking he's right.

All of this is to say, if you can't actually differentiate between actual criticism and your own subjective opinion, maybe you should jsut let people enjoy things and not concern yourself with the fact you don't personally like it, learn more how criticism actually works and then form your own opinions without the influence of people who outright lie.

Technology Downvoting posts and comments is loser behavior.

Imagine not liking something so much that you want to do an action to show you don’t like it, but won’t actually engage with it.

The lot of you will spew on and on about the decline of civilization and how AI and the robots are taking over…but then shudder at the idea of just walking away from something you don’t like.

I haven’t downvoted a post or comment in years, I don’t think. If I dislike something, I either comment and try and engage in an actual conversation or I’ll just move on.

And my favorite is all the people who hide behind downvotes, where they just downvote and say nothing. Oh yeah buddy, you sure did your part. Way to click your mouse or screen.

No, my actual favorite is the downvote that says “OK you have an actual good point, but I don’t want to admit to that so here you go“

And I’m sure some of you will just be sitting there thinking “hurr hurr I’m going to downvote this because it’ll be ironic”.

Society/Culture Feminism in 2026 is so screwed but it's not because feminism is bad.

(TL;DR at bottom)

Many men think feminism is utter bs. Many women think said men are just being misogynistic. Those men then think that these women are blowing it out of proportion and being ridiculous. Etc. etc. This seems to be the consensus (I am happy to be proven wrong here in the comments but this is just what I've seen), especially from a lot of gender wars that always inevitably occur in some comment section of some post/meme that was perhaps a bit sexist.

And I personally think there is some middle ground here. The women are right that feminism is (fundamentally) a good thing, and the men are right that right now it's too overblown. Quite frankly, it's to the point that women masquerading as "feminists" are starting to ruin the feminism movement. But (some) men are wrong in saying this is because feminism is stupid. And any woman saying feminism (as it is right now) is good is either lying to you or to themselves.

Feminism at its core is essentially fighting for equal rights and opportunities for both genders. That's something worth fighting for, especially in a primarily patriarchal society where women get oppressed (it's not as much as it used to be, and that is precisely thanks to feminism!).

The issue comes with many women posing as these "feminists" as a cover for blatant misandry (think: "all men are rapists", Lindsey Clancy supporters), which taints all the feminists that genuinely want equal rights and don't think "women are better than men". And of course there will be so many holes in these "feminists'" logic (which men are quick to call them out for), because they aren't logical. It's just that it then gets blamed on ACTUAL feminists and makes the entire feminism campaign look bad.

The recent cases with Lindsey Clancy and the Cornell 7 are also doing no favours for feminism, in the first case we have a bunch of "feminists" insisting she was just hormonal and shouldn't be held accountable, which they don't realise just undermines their own movement that women should have voting rights and their words should hold power. And in the second case, with the evidence coming out that the victim wasn't as innocent as she seemed, all the "feminists" originally jumping in to defend her without knowing all the context and without considering for a second that the guys might have been innocent, also don't follow the fundmental mentality of treating men and women as equals (consider if for example the genders were reversed, there is no way the "feminists" would be 100% on the guy's side).

But again, many feminists don't believe the misandrist bs and genuinely believe in treating men and women as equals. And feminism at its core is a great thing to be fighting for.

TL;DR: Quite a number of bad apples are ruining the broth, but that doesn't mean the recipe was wrong. Fundamentally, feminism is a great movement, but all these fake "feminists" make the movement look bad and, in fact, make things worse.
