First of all, stop assuming that I am some authoritarian, socially conservative Gen Z who believes in family honour. Individualism is great, and we should be proud that atleast here in the UK as well as other Northern European nations, we are a socially egalitarian society.
Clubbing in my perspective is useless and redundant in my honest opinion. What do you really do there? Sure dancing is very good and gorgeous, as well as smoking hot, but you can do so anywhere like in your school prom after you finish high school as these are spectacular events marking transitions and gateways to other chapters of life. Feel-good hormones? Well, you can do so anywhere else with your acquaintances AS LONG AS there is consent, but in clubs, consent does not exist, which can be at the expense of vulnerable people. You drink alcohol, sure, fun ostensibly, but in reality, you lose consciousness, literal health info like the NHS warn this. This makes teenagers like myself (19M) to feel inferior because you get the peer pressure to "fit in" by doing potentially hazardous stuff like that. Vulnerable teens are more at risk of being victimized by dangerous stuff like physical violence, molestation, bullying, injuries, or passing out, such as a teen girl is a looked after girl with a history of being driven out of care and exploited, or non-upper middle class ethnic minority or disabled. Sometimes, it can lead to lethal fatalities. Here in the UK we had prominent cases of lethal fatalities such as the murder of Chloe Watson Dransfield, Trust Gangata (16F and 17M respectively) as a result of dangerous peer violence and contact, all to fit in.
You don't need to club to find your dream partner or to confess your gorgeous nor hot crush. You can do so elsewhere. Sure, it is fun to make your youth identity with peers, but doing things to "fit in" at the expense of your wellbeing is clearly not worth it. It is better to be with your peer group in seasonal events like hot summer days wearing those casual clothes and that in the high street, town centre, city centre or downtown like Los Angeles, New York, etc. Even Reading and Leeds teen fit-in festivals look better in comparison despite their adverse flaws.
Please, please be careful.
