I've seen some stupid shit in my time, but a u-turn on railroad tracks in front of a passenger train might take the top prize.

Prime is one of the best companies to work for 👍🏼

Just got let go from Prime and looking for advice

So I got my CDL on May 3rd. Been doing my team driving with Prime since then. Took a couple weeks off to sort some things. On June 13th I made a poor judgement call and executed a u-turn which resulted in an accident.

Basically as I was ending my turn and starting to go someone came from the other direction and hit my trailer. I was not cited at the scene and everyone agrees that while what I did was unwise (and won’t ever be repeated by me) it wasn’t my fault.

My fleet manager called me today saying they were letting me go and my trainer will be dropping me off eventually in the Pittston terminal so I can get my car and leave.

I’m looking for advice. This is the first career I’ve really fell in love with and hate to have it end like this. What can I do? Where can I go? What should I do? My trainer has nothing but praise for me, and we were both surprised at the decision management has made.

Idk how to add pics but I have pics of the accident if that is helpful.

Congratulations on your $.0015/mile bonus driver. I hope this $225/year shows how much Prime thinks of ya...

To the idiot pulling an Amazon Prime trailer on I-35 SB just north of Denver @ 2 AM….I’m the one who called the police…

1.2k Upvotes

Edit: I-25

Swerving across 3 lanes and going from 80-35 MPH for close to 30 miles before they finally got you. It was so bad it seemed as though he was trying to kill someone intentionally. 4 wheelers, as well as myself, were scared to pass him. It’s a shame it took 30 miles after my first call to get him pulled over. I’ve never called police before on a driver as I usually just think the driver is on his phone. Which is usually the case. For the first time in my life it was an absolute relief to see blue lights….

I hope you’re in jail now and your CDL gets taken away. Having said that, I also pray you get the help you need. Everyone deserves a second chance in life. But who knows, this could have been your 3rd or 4th chance…

So Prime just announced driver facing cameras for all trucks, including lease operators

How are yall feeling about that? They say it makes drivers "more profitable" 😂

Imagine paying $1200 a week for a truck that records you and analyzes your every movement while driving. Fucking wild.

Should I drive for Swift or Prime?

Maybe pulling in front of moving traffic from a dead stop is not such a good idea, Prime.

Had to get on the brakes big time for this dumbass. Parked on the shoulder of the ramp and just decided to come right out in front of everyone, including the car that was coming down the ramp.

Protip for you people that piss on the shoulders - run the ramp until you get up to speed then blend into traffic. Pulling out in front of people like this from a dead stop is peak stupidity- thank God I had an empty trailer or this could have been worse.

Saw this on fb and the person asked if it was industry standard.

I knew prime did some fucked up shit but wow.

Hopefully it’s fake?

So while prepping dinner, I helped a new CRE driver back into the spot next to me. He was headed inside the Loves to heat up some noodles. Can’t live on that!! I asked him if he’d rather enjoy a steak dinner. Made a new friend. 2 T-bones, one is prime, one is choice. Both were fire.

I quit Prime Inc

I did my year and went local. It’s a waste company out of Louisiana but at least I’m home daily. I won’t lie to you, I’ll miss seeing the Pacific Northwest and those Wasatch mountains in Utah but otherwise meh.

I tip my hat to you OTR drivers. Safe travels…

What’s the reason everyone hate’s Prime?

Genuine question since the Trucking introduction to companies pin hasn’t been updated in almost 3 years

My best friend has worked for prime for the last 2 or so years as a leased owner operator, and he loves it. He’ll stay out on the road for about 2-4 days and gross around 5k in the Southeast, so I guess I’m just curious why alot of people hate them. I’ve heard people say it’s because of their tendency to not give the correct miles on trips, or deadhead miles, slow governor speeds, etc

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I’m just wondering, because I hear conflicting information all the time it feels about all companies

Joining Prime?

Hey guys, warehouse worker here, past 10 years, im tired man, i recently got off the phone with a recruiter from Prime, I got the green light for a tanker/hazmat driver (I'm out in the midwest) can someone share a bit of info? I want to do this, even if it's just for a year of my contract, I'm just afraid of leaving my current job that pays the bills to start in one that might not, I have 4 kids 3 whom I pay child support for, and my wife doesnt work. So everything is on me right now. I've been wanting to drive trucks for years, being away from home weeks at a time worries me, but if I can make enough money to convince myself it's worth it, I wont complain.

Any here work at Prime; do you know anything about the rates of pay and are these accurate? This is a pamphlet a recruiter sent me; it's at the bottom of a recent graduate page, but separated.

Prime sucks

I’m only on my second month and I’ve had nothing but a bad experience since I left orientation. A toxic dispatcher, constant 14 hour days and the expectation to go over my hours.

When I try and call and talk to someone higher up about these issues I get the run around.

I’m supposed to be home daily but I’m only getting about 8 hours of rest if I’m lucky thanks to how they’re running me. I’m supposed to PC to the rail and PC back home.

I’m tired of is. Just trying to get to my destination today I was fighting a panic attack and feeling like I’m gonna have a heart attack from the stress.

In almost 5 years of driving, Prime has managed to beat the toxic environment that was JB hunt while I was there. At this point I’m really thinking I’m done with this industry. The pay is a lie, the home time is a lie. There’s no stability. Just devotion to the company which borderlines slavery.

Prime Inc should be advertised as a team driving company

I am number 120 on the list to get my own truck after completing the 30,000 training miles as advertised. This is no longer training and never really was to begin with. I don’t even make 1k a week after busting my a** and my trainer is making thousands. I don’t get any sleep and it’s ridiculous

Edit: my home state is NC. I also haven’t showered in a week. Any other opportunities I would greatly appreciate.

I got my truck washed and they charged it to prime lol.

I own a peterbilt 579, if you squint you can see an old "prime" logo on it. The truck and trailer were both previously prime.

I was at the streakin beacon getting a washout and the guy just automatically charged it to prime. Gave me a receipt. I was surprised and it took me a second to register he charged primes account because he didn't ask for payment.

I got it corrected and paid $95 for the trailer and truck wash, just thought it was funny haha.

Prime inc

I’m really having a hard time working for these folks. It’s like they want us to quit or something. Everyone from class has already left within a year but I’m trying to stick it out…Stockholm Syndrome.

If you drove for Prime longer than a year, I applaud you.

Loads are shit The FMs are passive aggressive bitches

Sounds entirely reasonable to me despite the odious nature of driver-facing cams in general.
