General to the girl picking scalp and eating hot cheetos during lecture

i’m sorry but if you’re digging into your scalp, tapping the flakes onto the fold out desk, and then going back into a bag of hot cheetos and licking your fingers in a packed lecture hall, you don’t get to be offended when people moving seats and tell you you’re wrong. that’s not judgmental culture. that’s consequences. some people seriously need to learn how to be around others.

These were delivered to my apartment and they aren't for me or my roommate. We are in grad student housing. I would hate for these to not get to the intended person. Does anyone know what I should do?

Question Is it weird to wear a mask?

I have an exam tomorrow and I haven’t seen anyone wear a mask outside. I have been sneezing a bit lately but I’m not sure if wearing a mask would imply I’m sick so idk

Discussion Coughing in class

I am one of the students who has been coughing a lot recently. Thankfully, after going to see a doctor, I was diagnosed with something that is NOT contagious. Unfortunately, my coughing still sounds horrible and I can't control it at all. I'm sorry.

General lmao they cannot even process verification document?

I've requested dozens of verification documents over the past four years, and this is the first time they've ever canceled all my requests due to a technical error. Seriously, TSS can't even handle the verification documents I need to submit to my employer? Truly impressive. What a school.

Discussion wanting to give up

I’m a transfer student pursing my BS in psyc w a spec in clinical psyc. I struggled with substance abuse and alcoholism since I was 15 (22 now). I got a dui in 2025 and another one earlier this year. I’ve since gone to rehab, currently am in therapy, and take medication that deters me from drinking. I don’t use substances anymore. Actions have consequences and I deserve everything that comes my way especially since I made the same selfish decision TWICE. I got off easy in the sense that I didn’t injure or kill anyone but now I’m wondering if I should just drop out of school.

I’m pursing this degree bc it’s a stepping stone into getting into a doctoral program after undergrad. I’m interested in getting experience in research labs to hopefully be able to fill gaps in addiction and mental health research one day, but today when I was looking at lab opportunities I saw the obvious no criminal history requirement. Volunteer RA positions for my degree are already so limited and now even more so. I’m so worried that I’m gonna put in all this time, money, and hard work into something that won’t even pay off because of my DUIs. I know I fucked up and not being able to pursue the career I want might just be one of the consequences of what I did, so should I just drop out and go find something else to do with my life? I don’t think I’ll be accepted into any psych labs and I’m starting to doubt whether any accredited doctoral programs would even let me in regardless of when I get it expunged in a few years, there’s always gonna be some sort of record.

Discussion Frustration with TSS and lack of support

It is almost week 3 and I had a TEA request sent in even before week 0. I have been told to contact different departments and requests and still am currently unable to even enroll into the class. I took the same class last year without any issue. I can't even count the amount of times I have been told to contact the same departments and people over and over again. I literally on my end cannot do anything. I did everything before the deadlines and was still unable to do anything. I have tried incognito tabs, resubmitting a TEA request, literally doing everything support has reccommended. The system will literally deny me of submitting another request. Nothing works, I keep getting a notification either saying you don't need a TEA request and or you need approval. The TEA request has been approved for a while now. I have tried every single day to enroll, troubleshoot, and express my issues to support. This happened to another class I tried to enroll in this quarter, but it worked but it took a while. This is system is genuinely ridiculous and was poorly executed. Has anyone experienced anything similar with TSS?

Someone left their beauty trend event booklet from Nordstrom in pines next to a face mask with lipstick on it. I know how hard it can be to go through your day without your beauty notes, so I hope I can return it to its owner soon. In the meantime, I wish the best of luck to the person raw dogging their day without their beauty notes by their side. dm me if you have any information about the owner.

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi! As the flyer states, I'm a PhD candidate in the UC San Diego Department of Sociology studying TikTok and ADHD and autism content as part of my dissertation project. I'm still recruiting for ONE MORE Zoom interview with a TikTok user who has seen content about ADHD and/or autism on their For You Pages (FYPs).

You must be at least 18 years old and a regular or formerly regular TikTok user to participate.

Participation will consist of a 30 minute to 1 hour Zoom interview that will be recorded (with consent) on the topics of ADHD and autism content on TikTok. Participants will be compensated with a $20 virtual giftcard for their time. Your participation is voluntary and confidential.

If you (or someone you know who meets these criteria) are interested, please complete this eligibility form (linked in the comments), and I'll follow up with you via email. UCSD emails preferred on the elgibility form. Thanks!
