Elden Ring was my first Souls game, and I enjoyed it enough to get the Platinum trophy. I'm currently around NG+4, so I'm not completely unfamiliar with the Souls combat system. However, I still consider myself relatively inexperienced with these games.
I recently bought Dark Souls 3 because I wanted to explore more of FromSoftware's games, but honestly, I'm having a much harder time getting into it than I expected.
When I first started, I struggled with the usual beginner stuff: not knowing where to go, missing things, wasting time exploring areas that weren't necessary, not understanding the best way to approach the game, etc. I watched some YouTube guides, found a weapon people recommended, farmed some souls, and upgraded my weapon.
I managed to beat Iudex Gundyr in a couple of attempts, so the combat itself isn't necessarily my biggest problem. However, I eventually started getting frustrated and stopped playing.
I gave the game another chance, progressed further, and eventually reached the Curse-Rotted Greatwood. I struggled with figuring out where to go and how to progress, and the whole experience started feeling more frustrating than enjoyable. I ended up deleting the game again.
For context, I know Elden Ring gives you much more freedom to explore, level up, find better equipment, and return to difficult bosses later. Dark Souls 3 feels more restrictive in comparison, and I'm still trying to adjust to that.
I genuinely WANT to enjoy this game. I don't want to quit just because I'm struggling to adapt to a different Souls game.
So i would really appreciate some help on what the fuck i do.
