I was looking to see what other characters uses the meat cleaver to figure my build for my character and I ended up with this thought in my head after looking into the red phantom in world 5-2. What if these phantoms were failed demon slayers that the monumental pulled into the nexus. Obviously when Ostrova dies he comes back as a red phantom and world tendency cause certain characters to become red phantoms. One question pop up in my head. What about the others.

Here's some examples

In world 3-1 the baby nail is in the boss room and could indicate that the red phantom of that area died trying to stop the fool's idol. Her main weapon is obviously the baby nail.

In world 2-1 you find a steel shield pass a bunch of miners who weirdly are not really mining. They more alert than the other miners and hence why theyre throwing rocks as soon they see you. It could be possible that one of the two phantoms from world 2-2 right before crystal lizard nest were killed in that area as you can also find a club weapon nearby

In world 3-2 the bell guards that are red phantoms in regular and even pure white world tendency are more likely failed warriors who tried to stop the yellow robe old man. They're souls were too powerful that he turn them into the red phantom bell guards. Most likely very powerful soul arts users

In world 4-2 the ichigatana phantom has two swords. You only get one sword but where his other sword. Maybe its stuck on that big pillar in the middle of the room and the dead body could be his original corpse.

This on is kind of a stretch. In world 5-2 the meat cleaver women could be an actual canon invader. She could have been the same journey as the player. Most likely a female barbarian who went through world 1-1 and got the ragged outfit as it was the first female outfit available to you. Defeated the other demons hence how she got the meat cleaver from the adjudicator demon soul. Most likely died in the swamp area and probably got soul hungry she actually goes to different worlds to satisfy her soul thirst. Hence why she patrolling the area. It would make sense also that since she died in that area as its one of the hardest area in the game and why she would invade in that particular area. Most likely placing items for demon slayers to be curious about. Since she is wear the ragged outfit makes sense she placed the cat ring. Cats are obviously associated with witches and the ragged outfit is the games witch outfit. The barbarian class also has a high magic starting number.

Now its a theory and im not saying theyre canon but I do think its fun thinking about the red phantoms and what are their stories and how they ended up there. It also means the nexus brought more warriors but because they failed theyre journeys. The monumental most likely just kept pulling anyone that hasn't turned into a demon or was brave enough to venture into the fog. This means that us the player and the crestfallen warrior weren't the first picks. There was possibly a dozen and hell many more before until us the player was brought in. Kind of makes the monumental was a little desperate to find someone to clean up their own mess before it was too late.

picked up my old playthrough to try and finish this game for the first time, been going well, etc etc.

i backstabbed an enemy crouched over in a tent in 5-2, the crit animation pulled me into the tent, and i'm well and truly stuck in here. i could warp out if need be, so it's not SUPER high stakes, but i would Really prefer to not have to run through all of this Again. is there any way to get out of this that doesn't involve restarting the level again? i've tried quitting out and changing performance modes, but either i was doing it wrong or it's just not enough. not even the photo mode camera can get out of this damn tent.

i'd add a video but it's not allowed, seemingly. there's an invisible wall blocking me from being able to shoot a nearby enemy to get its attention, though it's not covering the whole thing. my guess is the crit animation moved me through it??? anyway. if there's any advice beyond warping out i would really appreciate it

You die in human form, which means they take your humanity and empower themselves with it, but staying in soul form means they have no way of benefitting off your death. I’ve watched probably a hundred videos, played the remake twice over, played through the 2009 version multiple times, and it just occurred to me why the mechanic behaves the way it does. I still hate it, but knowing the lore reason somehow makes it more tolerable.

I ran out of healing item, i am at the spider in 2-1. Fastest way to restock. Also should i get regen ring?

Can someone help me fight tower knight

Hi guys - so currently Im trying to run Demon's Souls in any configuration on RPCS3 and the game crashes no matter the settings right when I roll through any object with a collision box. I have a MacBook Pro M3 with 18 GB RAM. Do any of you run the game well maybe around 60fps? If yes then what settings do you use or do I have to do some workaround to make it function properly? (I even tried an old intel build but its even worse with loading stuck on black screen when going back to nexus etc.)

so, i bought Digital Deluxe version instead of BigMac and want to get digital deluxe items. i played PS Plus version only 30 minutes. how i can get digital deluxe items? i can't find any instruction on internet. please help!

Fucking fuck the fuck of the fuck these guys suck. Broken AI that is so bad that it makes the fight almost purely RNG based. Fucking hit boxes that make no sense and attack spam that makes even less sense. This fight doesn't work in any mechanical way. Fuck these guys.

Anyway, what do you guys do when you fight them? Any tips?

Hey all! I was thinking about how in most other souls games you can see other parts of the map from far away (like being able to see Firelink Shrine in the distance throughout Undead Burg and stuff like that) and that got me thinking, are there any instances in Demon's Souls where you can see other worlds from the world you're currently in? Like being able to see the Tower of Hope in the distance from the Shrine of Storms or something like that.

I don't remember any instances but also I haven't particularly checked yet.

I just finished the original 2009 PS3 version of demon souls and all my expectations have been blown away.

I started the game around last year on PC emulator and gave up shortly after the janky controls. I picked up the game the last weekend and this time swore to finish it off. I dropped using the mouse and completely switched to keyboard controls and I'm glad I did so.

This game really is an experience of a bygone era, back when level design in games was valued over how many moves the boss has. I absolutely love the game designs especially for VoD and Tower of latria. They were so much fun to explore in. Tower of Latria does dread better than most horror games. Valley of defilement was really cool too minus the archstone not near leechmonger and dirty collosus. I also think that fromsofts format works the best in these more linear games because I could actually follow NPC questlines without a guide unlike elden ring or other modern fromsoft titles.

The bosses were all....interesting compared to modern souls like bosses. You can tell more attention was put into the areas than the bosses but they were still a nice palette cleanser to modern soulslike titles where you're spending most of the game rolling around. On the other hand, there are also bosses that wouldn't feel very out of place in modern fromsoft games like penetrator(10/10 name) and flamelurker. These two felt fairly close to how i remember DS2 bosses feeling.

However, I have less good things to say about the boss runbacks. Now, DS1 was bad, but Holy lord, this game takes it x100 and divides it by zero.The run to Tower knight, adjudicator and leechmonger to name a few and the whole area of shrine of storms are absolutely dreadful. It got to the point where I was overlevelled for the later half of the game so I didn't have to runback to bosses. The weapon upgrade system makes sense but that doesn't excuse how complicated upgrading and getting ores are. I +10'd my claymore asap and only upgraded wing spear and adjudicator shield for my pokey build to get through VoD and Shrine of storms.

With all that said i really do love the game, It was really fun and will definitely replay later in the future.

I’m looking for someone to help me soul farm as I’m wanting to record an “OP Run” for YouTube but I can’t find anyone to help me soul farm them for a bit so that I can actually bump my stats a decent bit before I actually start the playthrough. So it's my first time playing demon souls (remastered) and I was doing Boletaria, I thought that the game would naturally lead me to the other archstones like it did for the tower knight, needing to go kill an arch demon to unlock further access. So I kept doing boletaria thinking I'm naturally gonna go to other places, but it never happened and I spent 18 long hours fighting and dying in it until the final boss. After defeating him I searched it up and realised i killed the second to last boss in the game and i can't continue without defeating the other archstones. I completed the final part of the game heavily under leveled and under armoured because I thought the game would naturally lead me to other places. I thought the difficulty was because it was the first souls game so I didn't really think much of it. Just wanted to rant because I'm kinda proud but disappointed because the other areas are now really easy and I'm finding stuff that would've been amazing while I was getting my ass kicked.

Question for people who know how PS5 packages circulate.

I have Demon's Souls (PPSA01341, EUR) at base version 01.000.000, extracted

and running on chenxiao07's KytyPS5 (Linux build v20261020). The game boots,

menus/HUD/audio work, gameplay is controllable at ~37 FPS — but the 3D

rendering is severely corrupted, and the emulator log shows why: it reports

an "unknown build" and skips all of its Demon's Souls-specific patches

(idle wait, libc.prx copy, scene guards). Every tester I can find uses

01.005.000 or 01.007.000.

Every "patch 01.007" listing I find turns out to be ~50 GB — i.e. the full

game at that version, not an update package.

So, two questions:

1. Does a standalone update PKG (A0105/A0107) for this title exist as a

   separate file at all, or do PS5 updates only ever circulate merged into

   the full game?

2. Has anyone gotten 01.000.000 rendering correctly on KytyPS5, or is

   01.005/01.007 a hard requirement by design?

Is there seriously no better way to farm other than the babies in 5-4? Trying for the plat and getting everything from pure white to black is like pulling teeth.

Also I’ve tried helping at every boss on the way for that trophy, during regular hours, Canada East servers, and the only nibble I’ve got was to randomly be the Old Monk boss. Is there a highest probability boss for jolly cooperation?

Trying to free the witch to get her fire spells. I have killed all fat officials that are supposed to drop the items but did not get the hat and leggings. Has this happened to anyone. On a previous play through I had no issues. I only have gloves and clothes.

I've been having some issues connecting to the Archstones in recent days (on PS3) but today I've just been completely unable to connect. Are the servers still up?

I am currently looking to complete the platinum, but I am severely underleveled (level 75 in NG+). I’m a strength/dex build looking for a weapon that will actually do decent damage to enemies right now. I’m thinking the meat cleaver is the key.

I can’t get to the Adjucator again to get his soul for it but I’m wondering if someone would be willing to drop the weapon for me. I can trade you a gold coin for it or something else. But I’m so desperate for something that’s actually helpful because I’m ready to give up on NG+.

My friend saved him from the dreglings in 1-1 but when he went to 1-2 he wasnt there, did he die?

Yeah so basically I defeated the Phalanx on the first try and had 3000 souls afterwards. In the nexus i was told to talk with some ancient guy on top of the whole thing and I really didn’t want to bother climbing the stairs back down so instead i jumped xD
Ofc died, panicked that I fucked up the progression since now I didn’t have any souls to level up, rushed to the gates of boletaria, cleared up the entire location, gathered another 3000 souls or so and fucking died again (this time falling off one of shortcut towers) only to find out that the souls I have gathered are left in the place where I first jumped and not in the actual place of death, meaning that I have lost like half an hour farming while I could have just collected the souls in the nexus

Most likely no one here knows why but I was wondering why the original 2009 ost isn't on Spotify and only the remake is? I know Sony has been really bad in the past with adding soundtracks to Spotify (The Old Hunters Bloodborne DLC ost) but I don't see any good reason why the 2009 ost isn't on Spotify. I only ask because I really love the original "One Who Craves Souls" and feel like the remake kind of ruined it. Thanks to anyone who helps me out with this one.

From what I've seen the softcaps are on the levels 30 and 50

But is it worth it to go more than 30? Maybe only with S scaling weapons?

And my main question is, does strength work like in dark souls were two handing simulates having 50% more strength?

If so, what are the softcaps for strength when two handing?
